Social Beer Garden just doesn't do it for me. I've been once or twice years ago and recently decided to give it another try, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately I still left unimpressed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To start out, the concept feels like a blend of accents from other popular bars in the area - the hammock chairs from Axelrad, the Adirondack chairs from Truck Yard, and the string light back patio from 8th Wonder. This blend makes it hard to give the bar a true identity.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While they do have a large selection of beers on tap, their cocktail menu leaves me feeling lost. I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. The front and back of the establishment contains a variety of choices to lounge in: hammocks, benches, bean bags, and more. The inside fully embraces the elements of a beer hub with cans and bottles neatly lining the wall, as well as several old school amenities (pool table, tic tac toe, arcade basketball hoops). Even the urinals in the men's bathroom take the shape of a barrel. Regardless of what area you find yourself in, sports games are visible on TVs from nearly every angle. My friends and I shared a pitcher of Michelob and starting chatting away. I'm hardly a beer fan, but I enjoyed every second of the welcoming atmosphere. I only have one complaint regarding the cleanliness of the backyard. Workers do not clean up the tables often enough, which left us settling for a slightly sticky table and removing used cups ourselves. A decent beer garden provides beers and a lighthearted time; a great one lets anyone have fun whether they like beer or not. Attended a music Bingo event here. Fun vibe for sure! Service was great. The food was provided by a food truck outside I'm told. I sent someone to get it for me. The things I found most interesting were all the swings out front. Brought back some nostalgia. I was to busy walking in to get a picture, but I'm sure someone has captured them. I only accessed the main floor for the event. The event was fun! The venue itself, I didn't find friendly for persons with mobility problems. Entry is okay, but inside seats were metal barstools with no back, placed around pub style tables. So I sat on my walker the whole time, as I didn't see any option for lower seating. There's also a rooftop which offers a fun relaxing vibe with patio games. I'm not aware of an elevator to access this area. Outside of this I had a good time playing Bingo (Free) with prizes! Love this midtown bar! From the long lasting happy hour to the big sprawling back yard, there's a lot going for this bar. I was looking for a spot to me at some friends in mid town, and this place came up. For people like myself who need outdoor space, this is perfect. Not only is there the big back patio, but there's a small front patio and a rooftop patio too on the second story with comfy couches as well. The drink selection is good, from beers to cocktails, there's a bit of everything. There was a burlesque event the evening we went, but we didn't catch any of it. It seemed well attended though. The second floor also has a few bar games available like pool. Another nice touch is the Mexican food truck! The offerings are a bit limited, but they carry some basics to keep your tummy full. I work down the street so we just walked here. They do have a private lot across the street to park. I tried the pizza vending machine out front.... Not good. The crust was almost raw. The front patio is cute with the swings and hammock chairs. The inside is two stories with skee ball, pool tables , patio upstairs ... there's a huge back patio too. Only one bar I noticed so it'll get packed later. We came at 5pm so it was a light crowd. Huge tvs everywhere to watch games. Plenty of a variety of drinks, not just beer. I had a mixed drink. It was ok. I did enjoy the strawberry ale, the pineapple ale and the mango one. Overall great place. They do have private vendors selling food after 6pm. They have a huge outdoor, backyard vibe, a 2-story indoor seating area with tvs, pool tables, darts and pingpong table and another small front patio space next to their pizza machine. Yes I said PIZZA MACHINE. They have a rotating beer and cocktails menu that you need to work your way through. The prices aren't crazy either and these are some really good drink options. They don't directly serve food (thus the pizza machine) but they always have some food trucks out in the backyard so you can find something to eat while you're watching the game, the fight, or some dogs play with each other. Ehh I found it kinda hard to review this spot. The bar itself is super amazing. The outdoor area is huge and accommodating to large groups. There was a food truck, hammocks, and games. The upstairs is also filled with games including darts, pool tables, jenga, and more. Great ambiance for groups and hanging out at a bar with activities. I went with a huge friend group and was shocked to find that each one of us was given an eye roll by the bartenders whenever one of us ordered the Starr-bucks Money drink (Pictured & NOT GOOD!) Maybe it was some sort of joke that goes with the cocktail but none of us got it. Found all of the bartenders to be somewhat rude and annoyed with every patron despite not being overly packed for a Saturday night. Takes forever to place an order and when you do you feel like you're being a burden. As someone who worked in the service industry for years I was very disappointed. We randomly decided to walk around midtown today and came across this bar. Drink menu had interesting and unique options. The bartender made our drinks quick and when we came back for seconds gave us awesome recommendations based off what we already had. The rest has a great vibe - cute front porch, massive back porch area (especially for midtown) with a food truck and tvs for the games. There were also lounge chairs, park benches, hammocks, the whole works. Upstairs there are a bunch of games that take you back - foosball, basketball, connect four, pool, darts, and more.
