I love this location. It's huge and has plenty of parking. Went here for the FIFA championship game. There was a huge screen and sets of TVs in various sections throughout. There's no bad seat in the house. If you're coming here for any kind of championship sports event, come early and get your seat cause it gets packed. You also avoid waiting in line for ID check. We got there 2-3 hours early, ordered drinks and ordered food from the food trucks. The taco truck's street tacos were so good, but it was a 40-45 minute wait that day...and it was SO HOT out. You get a buzzer, so there's no point in waiting by the truck. Might be quicker on other regular days, though. The burger food truck was quicker, but I wasn't in the mood for it. There's a variety of seating for whatever you prefer - picnic table, iron table, bar table, and cushioned patio lounge chairs. The servers checked in often and brought the drinks out. There's a free water station with cups. Restrooms are down one end. Ironically, on the game day, the women's restroom line moved quicker than the men's! Lol. Visited Kirby Ice House while in Houston. We stopped in to watch a World Cup match, and it couldn't have been a better place to catch the action. We headed straight to the huge outdoor patio, where there were TVs everywhere, including one massive screen that made it easy to follow the game from just about any seat. The atmosphere was chill, with fellow fans creating a great game-day experience. We took advantage of happy hour, enjoyed a few ice-cold brews, and the service was good throughout our visit. As someone who frequents the Memorial location off I-10 & Gessner, I was pleased to see this was being constructed here which is closer to my domacile. Upon visiting here, it's about the same size as Memorial IMO but still has the same touch and vibes that makes the Memorial location pretty dope. Obviously you're here for drinks, sports, or a combination of the two. There's plenty of parking here and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also live up to the whole "longest bar in Texas" where there is a 100+ foot bar area that stretches. There's plenty of tvs inside and outside so you can find any type of sports you're looking for as you guzzle down your beverages. Speaking of beverages, there's roughly 30+ beers on tap and just about every kind of spirit you can think of. Self-serve water coolers are available when you need to hydrate yourself if you've had one too many drinks. There's also a food truck here for eats with rotations (check the website for the schedule). It's pet friendly as well and they have drink specials every day. Bartenders are pretty attentive; I've never had issues getting a drink here, even when it's gotten slammed for NFL sunday or college football. I loved how big the parking lot and the actual bar was. It's huge and spans a really long distance, and there's a lot of tables and rooms for socializing and mingling, especially for large groups and happy hours. I also loved that there were TVs everywhere, so we could simultaneously watch the World Cup game. The service was great as well. The staff were always checking on our group and refilling drinks. Didn't try any food here so can't really comment on that - I just got a nice cold beer, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Stopped in to the brand new Kirby in the Heights this evening. It did not disappoint. Decent amount of parking. Daily specials. Sooo much seating along with a Texas size bar. Honestly plenty of inside and outside seating. Loved that they had giant fans outside too. Plenty of screens to watch all the sports. So many staff to get drinks along with taking away the empties. The bathrooms were clean and plenty of stalls. Asked my hubby about the men's. The Kirby Fresca was a nice different touch versus other typical choices. read more

I usually frequent the one off I-10 and Gessner (Memorial) and compared to that one it's a bit smaller. Still, the appeal is very much there. The company's done a great job with its expansion and dominating space as the largest bar in Texas. Parking was pretty tight on a Sunday NFL game day in December. It was cold, so everyone was packed inside, and the outdoor area only had limited heating lamps (though there's plenty of bench seating). I like the big screen setup and generally enjoy watching games here and at the Memorial and Eastside locations (as long as it's not so crowded that you're fighting for a seat.) There's a mix of bar seating, tables, and large benches outside. The vibe is lively and works well for big groups. A lot of companies host events here, and they're clearly staffed for it.. plenty of bartenders and servers. This location also had some solid drink specials and a happy hour... only 1 food truck on the lot on rotation, so that's the only downside. I do believe you can bring outside food in so that's a plus. Good selection of domestic and import beers on draft, plus some craft cocktails and wine. Most cocktails seem pre-mixed, so I wouldn't order anything too fancy. (I tried out the Fresca cocktail during gameday and it was only $5, a bit sweet not too shabby.. most of the times though I'll stick to their draft selections) Outdoor is also pet friendly. A decent amount of parking is available though on a busy Saturday or Sunday you're still going to be a bit pressed. I think the Memorial/Gessner location may have the most? Upon entry, you'll be met by the long bar with plenty of taps on the wall. To that end, they have a good amount of regional craft and national beers to choose from along with wine or cocktails. Now look, I wouldn't say to come here if you're looking for an upscale craft cocktail or a fine wine, but their options will do for what I would categorize as an upsized sports bar oriented for large groups. There is a food truck rotation along with daily specials. Check their site for the latest but examples include industry night, ladies night, steak night, Sunday funday with select drinks discounted. There's plenty of seating at the bar, high tops, long tables on the patio all with TVs broadcasting different events. So everything I've stated probably has most asking, so why go if it's kind of like every other sports bar? I'd say to this question, two aspects make it worthwhile: 1) due to the huge patio area, tall ceilings, and large lengthy bar it rarely feels overly crowded or packed like other spots tend to get. 2) The service is above average in the tikes I've visited. I've been to bars a fraction of the size with worse service or long queues to order. Here, there's either a spot to walk up and order easily or a waitress roving that you can place an order with. There's simply less friction for the point of sale, which is good when you're trying to enjoy talking with friends and catching a game. Personally, I tend to go for spots a bit more divey and less "commercial" but I enjoy meeting friends here, particularly large groups since the patio is a solid spot when a big game is on. read more

Compared to the other Kirby Ice Houses, it seems a little smaller, or at least feels smaller because there isn't a yard per se, just a large covered area which is nice but it feels kind of claustrophobic when there is a large crowd. This becomes a problem when there is only one bathroom and it's all the way on the other end in the indoor section because the narrow corridors for walking get clogged up when large crowds of people are trying to get to one end and then have to resort to walking in between the seats where people are watching the game. Granted, this may not be an issue 6/7 days of the week but I came here on a night where apparently there was a watch party for the A&M /ND game and it was elbow to elbow and anytime there was a break in the game, there would be a wave of people from the outdoor section trying to go to the bathroom all the way to the other end while the ones who just used the bathroom were trying to get back to the other side and it was just making the whole experience chaotic and really hard to even order a drink without getting caught up in the traffic. I'm sure they'll work out some of these kinks but I really think they need to build a second set of bathrooms on the other side of the bar to fix it. read more

Wow this place is huge and crowded! Apparently crowned the *longest bar in Texas* at 146 feet long, you will be walking for a while to find a bar seat! One of my friends and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm for Sunday football and Sunday funday and it was so full that we could barely find a parking spot in the large front/side parking lot but luckily someone was just pulling out at just the right time. Inside there's 146 feet of bar seating as well as many, many tables as well as outdoor tables. Screens are all around for all sports watching interests. The bar has all of the standard well options as well as many, many beer taps. They do also offer several daily specials so be sure to check with the bartender on any promotions for the day. For food, there are rotating food trucks but be prepared to wait for a little bit during busy days. One of my friends ordered a pizza from the food truck which looked amazing but took about 30 minutes to come out. Kirby Ice House is honestly a great spot to gather with friends and watch a game but something about their franchise just isn't my favorite. It just feels impersonal and profit-driven. I hate to rate low. But it's isolated to parking lot break-ins, and management's inability to help. We just parked underneath one of the cameras that talk to you the minute you step out of your vehicle. Went to watch the World Cup game. Came outside and guess what? Our vehicle was broken into as well as many others in the parking lot. Upon entering the restaurant to ask about this because of the cameras, we were quickly informed by the door staff that "this doesn't happen a whole lot but your best option is to go file a police report downtown. The videos are sent to the corporate office and they're hard to get". Well, it certainly looks like the staff sees a lot more of this than they confess to. And when we were looking at our vehicle, we saw other staff walk out in the parking lot looking around, however, avoiding us while I kept saying "hey come here." That's when I noticed other vehicles had busted windows and break-ins too. So the bottom line here is don't feel like your vehicle is secure just because they have cameras that talk to you the minute you get out of your car, more like because when something goes wrong it's impossible to get any support. For that reason I give this a one star review. How upsetting and disappointing after spending money and having a good time at the establishment. It's not just me, it's obviously many other people that have this problem, again with the BS cameras that talk to you the minute you get out of your car. read more

Went here on a Saturday, April 11th. Sat on the turf patio area, waited a minimum of 15 minutes at the table, no server ever came over. I walked over to 5 servers standing near the bar leaning on the column and asked if we needed to go to the bar for service or if someone was working the area. They said someone was working the area, I told them no one had been over. I went back to the table and waited another 5 minutes. A server, Joy, came over and was very nice. One of the servers that I asked about service came over while we were waiting on drinks and asked one table next to us if he wanted anything and did not ask us or any of the surrounding tables. Houston has a plethora of bar options and outside of the size there is nothing special about this place especially if the service is going to be sub par. I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I came in specifically to watch the game, and even though the TVs were on, the manager refused to play the audio over the speakers. What makes it confusing is that they do play game audio on the weekends, so I don't understand why a Monday would be any different. The majority of the crowd was here to watch the game. For a sports bar, it shouldn't be this hard to actually hear the game. Instead of enjoying my time, I just ended up frustrated. I really hope management reconsiders this, because playing the audio is a simple change that would make the experience so much better for customers who come in specifically for live sports. About 15 minutes later I posted my feedback (and after several other customers asked as well), they finally turned the sound on, and it made the experience much better. They've done a great job establishing a lively, comfortable hangout, and one of the highlights was definitely the service -- particularly from our server, Mackenzie G.
