This was one of the first wood fired pizzas I fell in love with in Houston. I have been here time and again. Love this spot! Pizza has fresh mozzarella, and all pizzas are made with such fresh ingredients. I love how fresh their pizza is and how you can tell it is wood fired. Thin dough and just enough sauce. Some people don't like how saucy the pizza could be because of the fresh mozzarella, the pizza can feel extra saucy and with the dough being thin it is different than other more dry or crispy pizza. This wood fired pizza is more on the softer center and crispy crust vs crispy hard center/center. I appreciate this because I love the fresh mozzarella and their pizza just taste so fresh and well done. Maybe it's better if you get fresh. I'm gonna give it a solid for. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great. It was very middle of the road for me. Also, it showed up cold, but what do you expect it was Uber eats. I assume if I eat there in person it's gonna be a different experience, I bet it tastes a lot better hot versus cold. The ingredient seemed pretty good however the mozzarella was a little bit different, I didn't hate the pizza, but I also didn't love it. Not only is their pizza delicious, but they have the BEST customer service and hospitality I've ever experienced, which is exactly the type of business I want to always support and continue eating at. I was picking up an order and locked my keys in the car on accident. As a 20 year old girl with no family near by, I had no idea what to do or how long I would be stuck there. I decided to just ask if anyone there knew what to do / who to call. The girl I asked was super nice and went to find someone else to ask. Instead of just telling me what I should do, the man (I think it was the manager or owner, not sure, but extremely kind and helpful) told me to wait inside since it's cold. While waiting I was able to eat my food and was also offered a free drink! A few minutes later the man returned and handed me my keys!! I can't express how grateful I am for the staff here. I know this review was more about the kindness I experienced, but the pizza was great as well. I got a Margherita pizza and it was exactly what I wanted!! I picked up a Mushroom Pizza togo late at night. It was very fresh, delicious, high quality and juicy in every bite. The crust was a great coal-fired type with a crispy texture and brown color to it. I find a pale pizza crust to be atrocious and not real pizza crust. The cheese was rich, aromatic and quality, not like some bagged mozzarella either. The red sauce was somewhat tangy and runny. It could've used a tiny pinch of more salt or sugar, but very good regardless. The mushrooms were great tasting, well-cooked and soft. Great service as well. I will be back in the future. read more

Great service, fair prices and yummy food! My boyfriend and I arrived at bollo on Friday evening at 830 without a reservation and got seated immediately. The restaurant has a really cute neighborhood vibe, which was exactly what I've been looking for! The staff was really friendly the whole time and our food came out pretty quickly. We got the lobster ravioli, the pancetta pizza, and a tiramisu. Everything was delicious!! The lobster ravioli was served in a yummy white cheesy sauce and the pizza was perfectly crispy and soft at the same time. The tiramisu slice we got was also massive and beautifully plated. My fave fave fave place to get a good pizza. Great for dates, great for family, great for hangouts. I come here regularly if I'm feeling like I want a gourmet pizza. I will say the prices have gone up since I started coming here but nonetheless, without fail I have always had good service and good food. My favorite pizza is the margherita pizza with goat cheese and my favorite salad is the arugula. It's sweet, it's delicious, It's my favorite salad. Anytime I have a friend visiting from out of town and they want pizza or pasta, this is my go to spot without fail. It's also conveniently placed in an area with lots of options for desserts! I don't know if he still works here, but Manny was our server for a number of years. He was one of the best servers we had and he was always so kind. Family night out. We went on the early side at 6:30 on a Saturday and you want to have a reservation or come on the early side as it filled up fast once we sat down. This is not our 1st time at Bollo but is has been a while. Happy to report that it's still a fantastic place to get your Italian on. The pizzas are the star here fore sure. I hate the use "best ever" but in this case the pizza is one of the best in Houston. It is Neapolitan style with perfect crust, fresh high end ingredients and made in a legit wood fired oven. Like that they are not afraid to bake the pie. It has some nice char on it in spots but not burnt in anyway. They do more than pizza. They have some large plate Italian go to dishes also. I had chicken parm and it was solid. I think they do a lot of business at the bar area and have some interesting bar food I was not expecting. Like chicken wings with Jamaican Jerk sauce, my son got those and they were great. Also, you can get salad family style which seems like a lot for a salad but we split our Greek style family size salad between 4 people and everyone had plenty. Super fresh and well done salad. Very responsibly priced wines so I split a bottle with the Mrs. Our kids can drive now :) We also did dessert Tiramisu and Lemon Cello cake were great. I recently ordered from Bollo Woodfried Pizza via Uber Eats andI decided to try the Italian buffalo wings and the carne trio pizza. The Italian buffalo wings had a decent kick of spice, though I felt they were a bit under-seasoned for my taste. The carne trio pizza, featuring a mix of savory meats, had a rich and satisfying flavor, but the crust was slightly lacking in crispiness which I don't know if it was attributed to being ordered through Uber Eats and the delivery time or it was just the pizza itself. We went there on a Saturday night. First I asked if I could sit in one section outside and they said no that it was reserved and then once I sat down, they said oh you can sit at the other section now. My server was very nice and the food was decent. However, I left a baseball cap there and talked to the person who answered the phone that evening a half an hour after I got done when I went to pick up the baseball cap two days later it was missing . The person at the front desk said how do I know that you're telling the truth. The person who originally answered the phone told me that they had the cap and described it. be careful some of the employees are thieves because the cap was there on Saturday evening and it was gone on Tuesday morning. The man at the front desk did very little to help me and when I asked when the manager was going to be there or the owner, they said not for a couple of weeks very interesting. I ate there on Saturday, 21 March and 5/24 of March at 11 AM mysteriously the cap disappeared. Also the man that was at the desk at that time said "so how do I know that you were here." Would I really make up a story about talking to someone about a baseball cap that was supposed to be behind the reception desk. He asked for me to show a receipt. I'm sure he could've checked the schedule and figured out who was working, but he said. he couldn't check. the schedule. I do not think this a great employee and I left with a very negative experience .I will not return there again and I will tell others about my experience. Very disappointed to see that there are restaurants that discriminate if you have an infant. We walked in for an early dinner, and upon us walking in we saw the manager talk to the hostess and immediately asked us for a reservation. There were several tables open, as the restaurant was about 30% full. They said they could seat us at a high top but those with an infant know that doesnt work. Once we left, I called to see what the wait time was for 3 (my husband, myself and baby) and I was told theres no wait time because theyre not busy and for us to just walk in. Obviously we will be taking our business elsewhere. I am just very disgusted to see that this discrimination against infants still exists. read more

We walked into a very calm and welcoming environment. I started off with an espresso martini--oh my, it was delicious! The foam was perfect, and the flavor was spot on. For appetizers, we shared the Greek-style lamb kabobs, which were incredibly tender and flavorful. We also got the caprese--it was so fresh and refreshing! I had a craving for a good wood-fired craft pizza, and this restaurant was highly recommended by my search engine (which, of course, included Yelp). So I met up with a friend for lunch and was very pleased with the aesthetics of this establishment. It was clean, quiet, and the staff was very accommodating. We were seated immediately by our server (who on this day was doing multiple jobs), and our drink orders came to our table quickly. We ordered a pizza with three different types of meat along with mozzarella cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were very tasty, fried to perfection with a generous amount of gooey cheese inside. The pizza was cooked perfectly, the crust was nice and crispy with a little char from the wood-fired oven, and the flavor was incredible. This was a huge step above the national chain pizza places. The restaurant's menu prices were commensurate with the portions and quality of the food served (moderate but not expensive). Their menu is fairly exhaustive, with a variety of options from salads to sandwiches. I'm definitely going to come back to this place to check out more of the items on the menu outside of their pizza options. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic, hand-crafted pizzas and a place with a very nice vibe. read more

Ah, Houston in early spring - the air is cleaner, low humidity levels, and pleasant to cool temperatures so dining outside is a pleasure! My wife and I met my 2 nieces who live here and one of them suggested pizza so we were in the mood for a great-tasting pizza, so we met here. Their Margherita pizza was a delicious bite after bite. The shrimp Scampi was even more delicious! There was goodness in every bite. Service was outstanding! Our server was very attentive and our water glasses never went empty. I like to drink beer with pizza so I drank beer. I would have preferred Dos Equis or Heineken but they did not sell them. Just a little hiccup. They had plenty of domestic and local brand names but I'm not a fan of craft beer. Overall, this place is a hit! What a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the Cotto Funghi pizza -- the ingredients were very balanced and the flavor was delicious. The crust was quite tasty (crispy on the outside but soft on the inside) so nothing was discarded. The apps were great as well -- we tried the marinated beets and the beef meatballs -- yum. Finally, the limoncello cake is a must for dessert -- so good! The service was really friendly and efficient. They are quite child-friendly and offer high chairs. Ample parking in the lot. read more

The server Carlos was amazing, very friendly, and informative on the different kinds of pizza served there. We started off with the Lemonchino Drop. What a yummy cocktail. We then each ordered individual pizza, my friends, each had Cotto funghi, and I had the Margherita. They were all very tasty, the right size so delicious. Overall ending my night frustrated. My dinner options were to either get a Costco hotdog or try out Bollo, and I chose wrong. As advertised they have deep roots in authentic Italian heritage pizza blah blah blah. Everyone says this. They leaned into it hard though so I had some expectations. When I arrived to pick up my food the restaurant was classic Italian diner, had a simple rustic vibe with the standard Italian fare decor, and it was packed. Not an intimate pace at all. Immediately at the door the hostess met me with a blank stare gazing at me through her scowl. Not a word said for a moment before I asked where I could go to pickup and online order. Ok, whatever, I have bad days too. Kind of the same happened at checkout though which was odd, but whatever, they were busy so I guess you don't come for the staff. Finally when the food came out I noticed the sizes of the pizzas. Dang... what a ripoff just from first sight. I've traveled from Milan to Amalfi stopping off at every town and city along the way trying as many pizzas as I could. 1. They were never this small, and 2. No one on their right mind should charge $17 for either of those pizzas regardless of the size. This is scam. To be fair the calamari portion was very generous. I wish it wasn't. The calamari to start was plentiful, served with a tzatziki and lemon on the side. The tzatziki was literally just yogurt with nothing else to it. It was gross. The calamari was greasy and really had no flavor. This is the first time I've ever been so bored of eating a food (let alone my favorite food) that I just threw the rest away. The pizzas, beside their shameful size and insane costs, were actually pretty ok. Cooked really well with the wood fire oven it did have that legit taste to it. They were slapped together with no care, but cooked well. For some reason there were like, 4 fat slices of tomato on the margherita and only half got basil. The diavolo was nice, but god... they upped the spice way too much for it. Still edible, but not good. All you taste is the spice which was a bummer. Overall, go get a Costco hotdog. You'll be happier with your purchase. 2/10 would not get again. If you must get pizza and wish to pay a fortune, I'd go to Gypsy Poet or save up to go to Italy and get it for real and not be scammed. read more

While I've had Bollo before, tonight was my first time dining in as I usually order it to-go or for delivery. Stopped by between 7-8pm, and although it was quite busy, there was no wait to be seated. I chose to dine outdoors as the weather was nice and the wait staff was quick and accommodating to turn on the heaters for those of us outside. I chose the Pancetta pizza and opted for white sauce instead of red (yes they can do that!). I work late night shift so I needed a strong coffee drink, and the cold brew was calling my name. I asked for double shot for an additional $4 and it was totally worth it. Everything tasted fresh, that kitchen and their kitchen staff work like a well oiled machine. They don't miss a beat! My food came out in a timely manner at the same time as my drink, so I didn't miss a beat, and everything tasted freshly made as well. My favorite part was that this restaurant still packages your to-go food for you as it was pre-pandemic. It was very accessible to park here, and the whole staff was super friendly.
