I really like the atmosphere. It's nice and big, open, and bright. Pretty modern feel, but also inviting. The barista was very friendly and knew what she was doing. The vanilla latte was delicious! One of the best I can remember. Cinnamon roll was also very tasty. My only complaint would be that it's pretty expensive. I think my little coffee ran me over $4...hmm...I can't afford that every day! I'll definitely come back on the weekends as a special treat. Also the beans I bought were very expensive. Plenty of space to study, nice staff, and cute decor. Would come here to chat with a friend or enjoy a nice day by myself, reading. The food selection is good. I had peanut butter and toast for a snack. The toast was delicious and peanut butter was all natural and organic. I also had a mocha which was exactly how a mocha should be-espresso and chocolate that isn't loaded with sugar. The only thing I didn't see was if there was outlets to plug into for laptops. I've been here a couple more times now. If you're into PERFECT chai teas, it's a must try here. It's not too sweet, not too spicy and has a rich, delicious taste. So our friends recommended this place and said they had great coffee and a few selections for breakfast. Upon entering the line was back to the door but it went pretty quick. Menu boards are nice, everything was clean inside and inviting looking, so it was all looking promising. Love how they have available coffee grounds for gardens, the tshirts the staff are wearing are super cute! Customer service at cash was friendly. We ordered two frittata sandwiches with ham and cheese, an americano and a drip coffee with steamed coconut milk. Pretty standard..... here's where it fell apart. Our friends had ordered 2 similar sandwiches before us and one lady called our friend over and said they ran out of sandwiches. Which meant for sure they were going to be out for us too since we ordered after. And sure enough they called our name next to share same news... Since the other options weren't really what we wanted, we cancelled the food order entirely since all 4 of us would have to re-order. The girl took our credit cards and said she could look up our orders and refund. Issue #1 - for the hassle, I would have expected them to refund our entire order, not just the sandwiches which is what they did. And of course the tip we added to the bill was definitely not refunded... Issue #2 - they gave me the drip coffee immediately and had the bar warm up steamed coconut milk but it took over 10 minutes to get it and I had to ask for it because it somehow got lost.....so by the time I got it my coffee wasn't even that warm anymore. Issue #3 - there was another person with my friends name who took our friends order. Since they didn't call out what the coffee was when calling the name, the other person just heard the same name and didn't think to check, which caused us to wait and eventually have to ask. We had been standing there for a while and the barista never asked if we were waiting for something but I noticed ppl who were about 10 ppl behind us in line getting their coffees and thought enough is enough, I'll just ask. The barista was super friendly and made our friends drink immediately, but it just took forever. So by the time the 4 of us left, 2 ppl were done their drinks already, mine wasn't that warm and our friend who just had hers made was the only hot coffee. So we didn't really get to enjoy a coffee together and still had to find an alternative for breakfast. Not a great first experience, even though the coffee is good! But from a customer service standpoint, unless I hear from them and am offered a complimentary redo, don't think I'll be back. read more

I have been going there on and off for a couple of years primarily because I like the outdoor vibe in the summertime., However, I've always thought their coffee was bitter and poorly prepared. I haven't been there in about a year and decided to go back today because my favorite coffee shop is closed on Mondays ...And I must say they were totally consistent. Today I ordered and enjoyed a delicious iced vanilla coconut milk latte. Super easy to order online. Walked up and it was ready right away. Lots of options available which is amazing. Especially that they have many milk options for those of us that do not drink dairy or soy. The latte had a strong coffee flavor and the vanilla was not too sweet. I can't speak for the food since there weren't really any vegan + GF options (I'm not a fan of chia pudding although they did have a nice looking version). They did have a number of GF options though for those who need that. I've been here a few times on two visits to Santa Rosa. My goal was to get a good latte and get some work done on my laptop. Although the line gets fairly long at times, it seems to move pretty fast. If you're in a rush though, it will definitely be hit or miss for you convenience-wise. LOVE: - their espresso is really nice - smooth and flavorful (I worked in coffee, not SB for 3+ years in a previous life and have no patience for sub-par coffee). The chai is also really lovely. - they offer a full variety of high quality (aka: califia and pacific) plant-based milks: soy, almond and coconut. - well stocked coffee station including simple syrup (for cold drinks), stevia, cocoa and more. - Plenty of tables, inside and outside, small and community, as well as outlets to sit and socialize or work. - Good wifi - Nice, clean restrooms - Even though the place can get really full and busy, the space is open, airy and bright. Lots of natural light, cool and breezy. - CLEAN! MEH: - Friendliness - I've had a variety of experiences here on different days. One day, the person taking my order was really friendly, other days they seemed tired, no smile and just "going through the motions". Everyone has a bad day of course, but it's nice to feel like the people working are enjoying themselves, not like they're annoyed if you ask for something the way you like it. As someone who is used to coffee shops in midtown Sacramento, Acre lives up to all of my ridiculous expectations. Their teas are fantastic (and you can ask for more hot water) especially their Earl Grey. Their coffees are great and their Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies are a must. Lovely environment/decor but it gets very busy in the mid-morning on the weekends. Evenings are great to go do homework/work as it is not too busy. It's EMF Mecca so if you want to be a part of it, either get here super early or in the late afternoon. Lots of people come through here so people watching is fun, but it isn't the normal coffee shop hipster crowd. I see a lot of professionals come through here and a lot of intellectual looking people. First, the coffee is delicious. The low stars are for the downright rude service I've gotten the only two times I've ever been in. Particularly the red headed cashier. I asked what was in a turmeric latte and she rolls her eyes and sarcastically says "turmeric". I was trying to find out if it had coffee in it like one would assume (it did not) so I went on to ask if it had coffee in it. She made it abundantly clear she was highly annoyed by any question so I quickly ordered another beverage (with coffee in it) and one for the friend I was with. She was annoyed again when I asked her how big a small was and without saying anything at all she grabbed a nearby cup and slammed it down on the counter and then just stared blankly at me. SO extremely rude! I am typically a major over-tipper and often do more than 20% but after the entire rude exchange I was definitely not going to tip her anything!!! She spins the kiosk around so hard I thought it was going to break, and then tears off the receipt and throws it in the trash. No thank you, no have a good day, would you like your receipt..just "next". This is the second negative experience I've had with the same cashier and I can get over priced coffee elsewhere with much better service. Great coffee, great location, great staff! I actually wandered into Acre coffee a few days before they officially opened. I've been to the Petaluma spot and was eagerly anticipating the Montgomery Village spot since its so close to my house. There were people inside so I came in thinking they were open and was greeted warmly by the owner and staff who were busily preparing for the grand opening. Which was still 6 days away! Despite my little intrusion I was still invited to sit down and was even served a shot of single origin espresso while they "practiced" with the new staff. It was perfect and I couldn't wait to return! I came in with some coworkers for the real opening and we were all very happy with our drinks. A wonderful addition to Santa Rosa and so glad they are in my neighborhood! read more

I was excited to see coffee art on their reviews. I asked the cashier if we can get that and she said it's really up to the barista. I asked if we can request it and she said it's really up to the barista. I ordered a caramel almond milk latte. She explained because there wasn't much fat in he almond milk that the art probably won't even hold up any way. I wasn't going to jeopardize my health for art so I wasn't expecting it anymore. I ordered a coffee as well. The cashier wasn't rude about me requesting coffee art, however she made me feel kind of uncomfortable for asking. She didn't engage in my conversation. The coffee was ok and the latte was ok. I did get a heart on my latte which I posted a picture of. The STAFF however was unpleasant. I sat in and just observed the staff. It was like no one liked their job. No one was smiling or extra polite. No greetings, no response. I was really excited to try this place because of their reviews, I guess it was a bad day for everyone working. I'm not too sure if I'd recommend this place to a friend.
