Annette Lupardo, Customer Service Representative with Avid was so incredibly helpful. we had lost our dog bear for 14 hours. I called avid and spoke to Annette. She told me that Bear's microchip was showing incorrect information. Annette went through the whole process of making sure Bear's information was corrected and she helped me registered and attach Bear's account to our other dogs information. About 15 minutes after we made the corrections someone brought Bear to a clinic and they scanned the microchip. Fortunately because of Annette, they were able to call me. read more

My husband and I were on vacation when we got a call from our dog sitter our Maltese poodle Zoey was missing. I advised her to call me in the morning as I began to pray Zoey would be found. In the morning the dog sitter text that Zoey was still lost and I have never cried so much. Just had a great experience with Joshua the Customer Service Manager at Avid. We just had a vet visit for our dog and went to file the paperwork. We saw the original Avid chip enrollment paperwork and realized since the enrollment in 2014 we have changed email addresses and phone numbers. Knowing they wouldn't be able to contact us if something were to happen to our dog, I called Avid and Joshua answered the phone. The call only took a few minutes as Joshua did a quick update so a verification email could be sent allowing us to update our account information. Couldn't have gone smoother. I never realized the importance of knowing the brand name to my animals chip but once I did recognize it in May of 2024 avid and all of the people that I spoke to were more than helpful and more than understanding and empathetic and all of the professional ways that anybody could ask for when it comes to a pet, rather a part of our family going missing or in our case kidnapped for 2 months and 4 days. Because avid was finally realized to me as the manufacturer of his chip, they were more than helpful in helping me figure out the type of services we should be using rather than the extra chip registering companies that are just in it for the money. I've also been trying to write this review for over 2 and 1/2 months and Yelp keeps glitching and I keep losing more and more thought processes. Register your dog's chip to the manufacturer who made the chip. Every other company is garbage and only in it for your money read more

Our 12-year-old cat was microchipped with an AvidID chip as a kitten. We've moved twice since then and I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to know that, if lost, our kitty's chip would guide the "finder" to our current contact info. The company allows you to update info over the phone for a small cost ($6 I was told today) or the great CSR (in our case, Renee) can send you an email link and you can do it online for free. This is after 12 years--and it's still free to update the contact info! You just don't see that kind of long-term commitment to customers these days--and I appreciate it. I also appreciate AvidID hiring native English speakers as CSRs--my phone call was routed quickly to Renee and her instructions were spot-on and accurate. And she was as personable as she was professional. 'Hope our kitty never needs your services, but I feel comforted knowing that, if he does, AvidID will get him back home to us! read more

Having your pet microchipped is definitely a sense of security you might not know you needed. If your dog gets away on a walk, your pet is stolen, or even if traveling and get in an accident and they run. Your chances of finding them increase exponentially with having them chipped. And I am definitely glad that I have this added protection for their safety! read more

Rebecca answered my call and stayed on the phone until I had accomplished what I needed to do. I had two dogs that got out last night, and I was in a panic. First thing this morning I got a call from this group, letting me know that my dogs have been found and I was able to pick them up this morning without skipping a beat. Then there was a nice follow up phone call making sure that my pets got home safely. What a wonderful service. This is for pet owners. First thought when I woke up this morning was I don't know, I have to go to the pound and get in line and retrieve my pets and go through all the paperwork and all of that and then it turned out to be a blessing when I got the phone call and the text . My dog was chipped with an AVID chip in 2011. I have a certificate stating the avid number, dogs name, address, etc. I recently had a phone number change and went online to update the info, and it seems my account was not there, and my dog's microchip number was not registered. I tried registering it, but needed a member number from an email that I didn't have. So I called. Turned out that sometime after my dog was chipped, they started some $19.95 fee to register your dog. So we, who had dogs chipped with AVID before this new money maker idea, were simply thrown into the trash, no data, they say. The fee I paid and the certificate that came with it is meaningless. Bunch of bull. go elsewhere. read more

I had my puppy microchipped this past weekend and then completed the registration today. I have an excellent vet who explained the process and charged me very fair and reasonable vet fees for the microchipping service. The separate fee of $19.95 for a lifetime registration with Avid was likewise fair and reasonable. The people complaining of the cost don't seem to understand that the microchipping and the registration are 2 different things. One is a service provided by the vet and the other is a service provided by the tracking company. It's analogous to buying a smartphone. Unless you activate it, it's useless. For the peace of mind that it provides, the microchipping is well worth it. read more

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews here. I got my dog chipped several years ago, and it gives me peace of mind to know he has that protection if ever needed. I've never had a problem with Avid. The registration cost through LA County Animal Services where I enrolled him, was not much at all. Now years later, when I check online, he shows as still being registered. That's a bargain in my book! People here seem to be complaining about customer service and wait times. So what do they expect for many years of service at a one-time registration fee of a few bucks??!! read more
