My wife and I needed a painter to paint the three rooms in our new home and we had a short period of time to get the work done before we were to move in. We contacted several different painters to get an estimate. Efren was the first contractor to respond and also provided the most detailed estimate. Highly recommend Mach 5 Painting! They painted the interior and exterior of our house (on two separate occassions), giving our home a much needed makeover. About 3-4 years ago, I originally found Efren through a Craigslist add while looking for a painter. We wanted to have the interior of our house painted. Efren was very quick to respond to my emails and we soon set up an appointment for him to come give us a quote. He arrived promptly for our appointment and was very professional. He answered all the questions we had and gave us his recommendations on choosing the appropriate paint. The price he quoted us was reasonable. We got a few other quotes from other painters and decided to go with Mach 5. On the day of the job, Efren and Danny were on time, courteous and very professional. They painted the interior of our home in 1 day and did a fantastic job. They were careful not to get paint on any surfaces other than the walls and did a very good clean-up job too. Fast forward to a month ago, I contacted Efren again to see if he could help us paint the exterior of our house. After all the years, he still remembered us as a past client. He came to give us a quote a few days after we set up the appointment (also still remembering our address). Since we trusted Mach 5 and already knew the quality of their work, we decided to go with them again after the quote. In the weeks between, I texted Efren to ask questions about types of exterior paint. He was always quick to respond, which was much appreciated. A week before our paint date, I texted Efren the specific colors we picked for our house. He had already determined the paint quantities during the quotation. When the big day came, it only took 10 hours for Efren and Danny to power-wash, scrape off the old paint, spray paint our old metal gate, prime the house and paint the exterior before the sun went down. These guys work diligently, efficiently and quickly without compromising quality. We are so happy with the paint job and how our house looks now. We already got compliments from our neighbors. Efren was among the most reasonable bids for painting the interior of our new home, and was professional, courteous, and responsive. Some other companies were much less so throughout the bidding process and wanted to charge as much as almost triple in some cases! After seeing the job Avilas Painting did for us, I can't imagine what all the extra money would've gotten us. He went over all the details of the job, answered all of our questions, and laid out everything very plainly - with options. I had extensive! text threads with this painter about my job which were painting kitchen cabinets and repairing some drywall damage in the ceiling. Pictures were sent, etc. He came over and was going to start the next day. When I texted him later that day, he bailed stating he took another job. Don't waste time on these guys.....they just fish around until more lucrative jobs come their way then they cancel. read more

Our home is on the market, and we had received many comments how dark the kitchen appeared with black cabinets. A change of color on those cabinets was a must. Changing out the black to a white and getting it done immediately was to be a challenge. Efren was on site with an estimate quickly. He was very professional and helpful with paint color. What can I say about these guys but Wow!! Quick appointment scheduling plus a quote on the spot. What else can you ask for? How about the best price out of ten, yes ten other bids. They did a whole house interior paint job for me. We walked through the house and within seconds... a quote. A quote for half that of the other crooks that did a walk through. Efren told me, "I've been painting since I was a little kid after school with my dad. I know how to do this kind of work well and I know how to price it fairly and on the spot" Needless to say, I agreed right away and they started a few days later. Now, the quality of their work is superb but, I have to give them top marks as well for their prep work. Goodness, everything not being painted was protected above and beyond. They are also super fast painters. I was working on some electrical at the house while they were doing trim work and I have to tell you, these guys know their stuff. They were fast, clean, and accurate with their brushes. Overall, an amazing experience. I was nervous at first to do a yelp review on these guys since I feel like I hit the jackpot or something by finding them on Craigslist but, I feel people in the Novato area could use a break from the ridiculously overpriced, poor quality, poor service, they are currently getting from all these other overly entitled, so called, local companies. It's time to reward guys like Mach 5 painting, a Novato company, that offers good old honest hard work and pride in workmanship at a fair price. Keep up the amazing work guys! read more

I've been very impressed with Efren and Avilas Painting. I first found Efren doing an online search and didn't know what to expect, but I have now used him 6 or 7 times on some pretty big jobs (complete interiors and exteriors) and his work has been phenomenal. He is ALWAYS on time to meet me to give a bid and his bids seem to always come in below others I have gotten. I have since stopped getting 2nd and 3rd bids, because I can rest assured that his prices are the best around. The work he does is VERY clean... you won't see any drips or messes and his prep work is awesome.
