No waiting in line, no communal chaos. That's worth something, especially in South Padre heat. There's a rec room that sits mostly empty during the day, a small gym, and laundry on site. The spot where Pier 19 used to be before it burned down now has premium RV spaces with better water views if that matters to you. Staff was friendly across the board, every interaction. It's a well-run park. Nothing blew us away, but everything worked, and that's more than you can say for a lot of places. Would come back.

We stayed in one of their smaller cabins (sleeps 4) and it did the trick for our stay. We didn't use their rental services, but they had multiple water equipment and toys for rent during your stay. There's a large pool, recreation center, laundry, and clean restrooms. The KOA is also a short walk to beach access and hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops. We would 100% would venture back.

I get to the pickup point at 3:41a and the shuttle had left. They had not arranged for additional pickups. I had to request an uber, which was 40 mins away and costed me $188 plus tip. I was just barely able to make it to my flight. This is highly unprofessional and highly unacceptable. I will never use this service again and I will never allow any company I work for to do so either. This was a traumatizing ordeal.

The girl with the long hair at the front desk was so RUDE on the phone and during the encounter with walking to the front desk per her directive to exchanged the towels. I have never stayed in a hotel where it was both a burden and requirement to the staff to walk to the front desk for towels, and where it was such a hassle to the workers to physically hand in the used towels for the new ones at the front desk in the moment (one child literally waiting in the bathtub for a towel to be handed to them since we had to run down to the lobby for the replacements ourselves after trying to call the front desk for over 1 hour in the phone before giving in to physically walking downstairs). I would've resorted to staying in an Air bnb with this level of service where it's more beneficial to bring our own towels since it's such a burden to the staff to simply provide towels to customers in this hotel. On another note, the pool was clean and a pleasant time since we had the space to ourselves. And, the breakfast was your typical continental breakfast spread with eggs, potatoes, toast, bagels, fresh waffles to make yourself, cereal, fruits and some other things. This is more like a motel. I booked a room at the Fairfield Inn on a business trip, but quickly ended my stay. 1. The cleaning staff that we were assigned is lazy and ignorant. They refused to change our bedsheets and continuously lied about cleaning out rooms but never even touched it. They made it an issue when they did clean our rooms, and visibly showed signs of irritation. 2. Terrible mold infestation in the hotel. See attached picture. Staff attempted to spray paint over the mold instead of simply calling a specialist to treat it. 3. Room service is also rude. They will see you in the hallways and look at us as if we have caused them harm. If you say hello to them, they will not respond. Not a friendly environment at all, hospitality is non existent. 4. Hotel manager Johnny decided it was appropriate to barge into my room after banging on my door loudly and obnoxiously for about 5 seconds. Not even giving me an adequate amount of time to answer and give them the permission to enter the room. I am a woman and I wasn't even fully dressed. He did this not once, but twice. Disgusting man on a power trip. If you're a woman traveling alone, be sure to take the proper protective measures if you know what I mean. Their staff cannot be trusted. 5. They're stingy with the hotel shuttle. The shuttle is there to transport guests to and from the hotel to the airport or etc;. The manager caught an attitude with me when I asked him if the shuttle was available as if it wasn't apart of the hotels services. 6. Their manger is currently refusing to give me packages that I had sent there all because I switched to another hotel. They refuse to take the packages from the mail carriers and returned them to sender. Talk about petty! Mind you, I moved to the hotel directly across the street. It's not like my mail has been sitting there for a while. I already had mail enroute to the hotel before I decided to move to another. Johnny or however you spell his name gives this hotel a bad rep. He has a nasty attitude and no customer service skills whatsoever. He will give you the run around when you come to him with persistent issues within the hotel. Very clean and pristine, quality exercise room, walking distance from restaurants/bars, comfortable bed, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, it's got everything you want in a fantabulous hotel. They allowed me to check in early that day so I could dress properly before heading to my place of work. No doubt I'll be staying here when Brownsville calls my name. And you should as well!

That's very difficult to gauge after a 6-hour driving trip. If you arrived outside of that time frame, they would charge $50 for lateness! They also decided to tell my sister on the drive there that she would need to pay in cash!! WHAT!?! The website says they took credit cards and charged an administrative fee of 5%. But suddenly, they wanted cash only. Absurd. So much for being customer-oriented....

Beds are not comfortable (old mattresses I suspect) King in master, twins in spare, pull out full in living room (all uncomfortable). Very close to beach (walk there from back door), beach clean, not too crowded, room outside on porch to hang wet towels/stuff. Laundry on site. Close to shopping and restaurants. Main complaints: beds, you need to bring trash bags (they only give you one), you need to bring extra papertowels, etc. Would consider using again.
