    Very easy and simple to return car. Gentleman was very kind to me although I created a problem he felt obligated to fix.

Instead, I was met with total disappointment and lack of accountability. I reserved a Full-Size SUV weeks in advance for a critical task: transporting athletes for the Olympic Committee. Upon arrival, I was told the branch was sitting at negative nine (-9) cars. How a rental hub manages to overbook to that extent is mind-boggling. The "solutions" offered were insulting: * Zero Accountability: I was told a customer support manager would call me to resolve the situation. I was there almost a week. Surprise--nobody ever called. * Passing the Buck: The staff literally told me to go check with Avis. Avis (rightfully) quoted a Suburban at $400 a day because of the last-minute nature of the request. * Financial Drain: Because National failed to honor a high-tier reservation, I had to shell out roughly $200 a day in Ubers just to get my athletes to their venues on time. Despite my status and the clear professional stakes involved, the staff offered absolutely nothing to mitigate the disaster they created. No voucher, no shuttle assistance, no effort. I have to return to Gainesville in two weeks, and I can say with certainty that I will never step foot in this National location again. They clearly don't value their "highest-status" members or basic professional reliability. Avoid this location at all costs if you actually need a car to be there when you arrive.

I realized I needed to return it a day earlier than I had planned because of a pre scheduled flight I had the day of, in another city. Due to the prepay option, I would not be refunded for the extra day. I tried contacting customer service to either take off the extra day or to cancel and rebook. The first rep I spoke with was not very nice and told me there's nothing he could do and I would just have to return it early and hope that the shop would refund me. When I tried to explain that the policy told me that I wouldn't be refunded due to prepaying he repeated that he could not help me and then ended the chat. The second rep I got was even ruder than the first and had a nasty attitude the whole time. I was asking for help trying to figure out a way to cancel or change the schedule and she repeated "there's nothing I can do on my end" and instead of trying to assist me with options to change it she started getting irritated with me as I was trying to ask questions the figure out what I should do and also ended the chat on me. I finally found a way to cancel my rental hours later and I will say, I will NEVER be doing business with Hertz Again. It's a shame because I got automatic gold status with my credit card and I was excited to start using this company. Maybe try hiring more pleasant staff and setting a service standard. According to reviews this is a common theme with this company.

But for the number of times I have rented from them the ratio is low. And the way they handled any problems I've had has been outstanding which in the end goes a long way with me. I know everyone at this location and they are all very polite and accommodating. Need a bigger car than you originally thought, they will help you with that. They have the best prices in town and do not nickel and dime you like the other car rental companies here at the airport. All budget locations are speedy and give good service. Want to make things faster and get rewards? Sign up for Fastbreak online. It shoot ls you ahead of the line (except in gville because it's such a small location). You also have the majority of your info on file so it cuts down on on all the paperwork. If you travel a lot then they have the best rewards! I get tons of rental certificates which adds up to free rentals when I'm on vacation...BONUS!!!! Also, the manager that runs this region (gville to jax) is also very helpful and will go the extra mile to remedy any problems and make sure you always have a positive experience. Side note: Budget and Avis are connected at this location so go to the Avis counter.

I booked a car for one day, 24 hours and I found the best deal for this with Budget and I found this on Priceline. On the actual website Priceline, on the first picture and description of this deal it also says, "NO CREDIT CARD NEEDED" so one would presume that means NO CREDIT CARD IS NEEDED TO RENT THIS. I even called Budget, and obviously spoke with some foreign person, as we all do when we call call centers here in the US, it's an ABSOLUTE privilege to speak to someone who is fluent in my language. And it's no disrespect to the person who is of another country but if I am calling in, more than likely I am not happy, and me not understanding what the representative is saying then that just g.j in a piss me off worse but that's not I'm here. I am here because I want Budget to see what kind of people they have working for them. As is stated previously I confirmed everything the night before, everything I needed everything I MIGHT need. Saturday afternoon I scheduled pick up around noon, I arrived approximately that time. I introduced myself to her, as she was texting on her iPhone, that's how much she was using her phone during my experience with her. She finally asked me my information and checked me in up to the point of payment and deposit. Well needless to says even though I planned, and asked questions it made no.difference which made the situation even more frustrating She was absurdly rude to me she never tried to help me, even after learning I was stuck at the airport with no way to gi anywhere. She never put her phone completely down. As a matter of fact, I had to do her job for her on mlm or than one occasion like she had no idea that if you paid in advance your deposit was only $100.00, there was literally a sign next her face, on the desk she sat at, that said that, and I pointed it out to her. And instead of her apologizing to me, she had an attitude then, like she was offended that I had to do her jobs if anything she should be embarrassed, here you are sitting at the desk on more than one occasion and you couldn't put your phone down enough to familiarize yourself with your environment, act professional!! This young lady, made Budget Rentals look like a poor representation of a company I used to think alot more of. If you care to validate my experience, you can look on the film from that day which was 2/01/20 @ around noon-1:30 and you will see your employee treat a paying customer with no respect what so every, her phone was more important than figuring out a solution or offer any kind of assistance, other than sorry you cant rent it, also these third party apps like Priceline do not offer this information and was told that by thus young woman and a rep I called in with that they dont always have up to date valid information concerning your rentals... um really? And this okay?? We get to not disclose all the information, you can't do that dont advertise on the third party apps if you cant offer up to date information and it be ACCURATE!! AND hire someone to replace the girl that worked at the Airport in Gainesville FL @approximately 12:00-1:30pm. I was stuck there for about 4 hours not once did she check on me, knew my situation, and knew it was of no fault of mine but whomever gave me false information. But instead of this young woman helping me. She was more concerned with what was going on, on her phone than doing her job, she never one time made eye contact with me, I have never been treated so ridly by a customer service representative. Budget was and has always been using their services since I was 19, just finishing college, and rented my first car. But because of how poorly I was treated, and how noone tried to help me, I will never use their services again. They should be ashamed of how they treated a lifelong customer.
