If I could go negative numbers I would. Called 10:30 asked if they could pick up my wife at 11:15, said , no cars available until 3. I said she does not speak english well, they said no, wait until 3. I said she is in a strange city, could not care less. Called 3:45 with pick up address, pawned off to another store who only had trucks, my insurance only covers small cars, they know this. I called 3:56 they said they would pick them up after 10 minutes on hold. 16:37 called again, where are you? My daughter had a collision and her car was receiving body work for 2 weeks. Our insurance provided a rental, so we went to Enterprise on Williston and SW 34th street. Marquis Braithwaite was smiling at the service counter when we walked in. He was extremely helpful and efficient. He helped us chose the most appropriate rental to fit our family's needs. Our insurance covered the entire rental. Marquis was there when we returned the rental and remembered us. He was again very helpful and courteous. I will never rent another car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car again. I made my reservation well in advance of when it was needed which provided Enterprise plenty of time to ensure they had the right equipment to complete my rental. I was notified by the Manager, 16 hours before pick up that they didn't have the car I requested. A specific vehicle was required due to my driving my elderly in-laws to North Carolina who have significant health issues and have difficulty riding for long periods of time. We needed to have a vehicle that handled smoothly, and had plenty of room, and did not sit high up such as an SUV. I stated all these things at the time of the reservation. I advised the Manager again when he called and requested, he search one of the 20+ Enterprise locations within 75 miles of us for the car. He assured me he would do so and would call me the next morning if he was not able to locate the specific car I requested. I then called the customer care line and spoke with an escalation manager. I provided the issues to her and she advised me she would have the District Manager make contact with me but they never contacted me at all. I never received a call from the Manager as promised the following day and proceeded to the Williston Road location in Gainesville. Upon my arrival I was told by a young lady they didn't have the car I requested. I once again told them why I needed that specific car and was told to hold on and she would get the manager. I waited and the manager came out and stated the same thing. I asked him why I was not called as I was told I would be notified if they were not able to obtain the car, I rented so I could make alternate plans. I was advised the manager that I spoke the previous day on the phone didn't leave any message regarding this situation and left for vacation. I was stuck without the car I requested and no one called as promised. The two cars they tried to place me in where exactly the cars I had to avoid due to limited space, comfort, etc. I then left the rental agency and called the escalation department again. I once again explained my situation to the manager and she promptly switched my reservation from the Williston Road location to the Gainesville Regional Airport. She advised me the type of cars they had available and sent me a new confirmation. She assured me I was all set and even provide a small discount since this rental facility was a lot farther away from my home. Forty-five minutes later I received a call from the Gainesville Regional Airport location and was told they just saw where I had a reservation added to their location for that day. I was told by the manager on the phone that they are not sure why my reservation was moved because they have been sold out since the previous day. I advised them who made the reservation and I was met with a response of "oh". I then proceeded to ask how they could make a reservation if they have no availability and I was told "I don't know". So, this manager then canceled my reservation without asking me to do so or offering any assistance. I then called the escalation department back and spoke to a different person. I had to explain this matter to her all over again for the fourth time. She reviewed my reservation and advised me that the previous escalation manager was able to make reservations because the airport location failed to do their job and update their system to notify them, they were sold out. The escalation manager asked me to hold so she could contract the two other locations in Gainesville to see if they had availability. I was placed on hold for almost thirty minutes only to find out that she had not called to check on availability but had transferred me to the location to find out on my own. I was transferred to the University location and spoke to a young lady. Once again, I had to go through the whole ordeal of explaining this unfortunate incident all over. She advised me she did have a car onsite but she would not accept the previous reservation price I received when I made my reservation because I did not make the reservation for her location. The price I was quoted ended up being almost double what I made my reservation for. I declined this reservation as she would not move on the price even though I told her what I had been through she acted as if she could have cared less. At this point, I was to have picked up my rental at noon and it was now almost 2 pm. I have spoken to every location in Gainesville with no help. I spoke to three escalation managers with no help and the district manager never called as I was told he would. I ended up going back to the Williston Road location and had to accept a vehicle that was not what I rented but had no other choice since we were leaving town in less than two hours. Got late the first day so the site staff refused to process for the mini van I already booked. Understandable so I said I'd make another reservation for the same vehicle early next day morning. However I was told that they can not rent it to me even if I already successfully made the second reservation on line. That's insane cause the van was just parking outside and the website clearly showed it's available. Really bad attitude. I can't think of other reasons except for I'm Asian. Booked a mini-van to take the family on our first trip to Disney. 3 hours before I pick up the van I get a call from the branch manager, Allison who lets me know that they don't have any mini-vans. I said no problem and asked if they had anything in similar size and she said that yes they had a large SUV. I said that would be fine. She then let me know that our new cost for the rental would be $550 for the weekend up from $150 for the mini-van. I asked why I am being charged more if I booked online and it's not my mistake that your inventory isn't up to date. She said that it was because I didn't book more then 24 hours ago. All requests to honor the original agreement were futile and the only way I could get a vehicle that would fit my size family would be to pay an additional $400. I have rented cars at this location before. Usually, I receive a car that has a full tank of gas. This time the car only had a half tank. Interestingly, the office is located in the same complex as a filing station! Usually, the staff is friendly and glad you were renting from Enterprise. This time, during pick-up, I did not feel that appreciation. However, during the return portion the staff was great! And, by the way, it is difficult to guess a half tank of gas. There are few times in life when getting a rental car after an accident is a positive rxperience. But: BAM! This place is awesome. Am preparing to take this company to small claims court for recently placing me in collections for a $500 dent that was impossible for me to cause. 9 miles & fewer than 48 hrs later, I supposedly caused a thick rusted orange dent & caused the paint in the crease to change color from the sun. (The dent looks similiar to my friend's five year old rusted dent.) Once my 823 credit rating is harmed by Enterprise, I will be forced to file in small claims court. After speaking w/ a close friend whose friend used to work for Enterprise, I've been told this company is "dirty" in its practices. The scientific impossibility of me causing the thick rust in less than two full days (but being accused of it) now makes more sense! AVOID Enterprise! I believe it's a dishonest, devious company that I'll soon face in court after refusing to pay a bill I do not owe. Our car broke down so we called to rent. We were offered a car and then 10 minutes later, they called back and told us that now there was no car with no explanation other than the one we were offered was "already rented". They were not willing to help look for other possible cars in surrounding towns. Were not offered any sort of compensation for troubles. read more

Timeline: after an accident, my insurance set up a rental with Enterprise on 3423 SW Williston Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608 in September. The first week, they called me right away, and told me the insurance company was only paying for the first day. I brought them a money order. They also took my fiancée's debit card, "just in case." We wound up renting the car for nearly three months, with most of the payments being made by me, by money order. They double billed us on at least one occasion, billing his card even though I'd made a payment, but by the end of the rental period, we thought we had everything straightened out. The car was turned in right after Black Friday weekend, which would have been in the first week of December. Looking back, my fiancée noticed that they also charged his card some sort of fee about a month or two after he turned in the rental, without giving him any notice they were doing so. Fast forward to today... It is now March 17, 2015, over THREE MONTHS after the rental car was turned in. In an unfortunate series of events, a cable company from another nearby county that doesn't even serve Gainesville somehow put a charge through of over $400, so he looked into WHY his bank account was overdrawn upon having Walmart decline a $10 purchase. Lo and behold, there was also a $50+ charge that had JUST BEEN PUT THROUGH from Enterprise TODAY. They claimed they put the charge through because the insurance never paid the first day's rental. (Although I'm PRETTY sure I gave them the money to cover that already, because I'm pretty sure we discussed that back while we were in possession of the vehicle...) So, assuming that we DID owe them $50+ - it was highly unprofessional of them to place an unauthorized charge to collect that money without making ANY attempt to collect from us first. THREE MONTHS after the car has been turned in? No warning whatsoever. They had his phone number on record, they had MY phone number on record, they made NO ATTEMPT to let us know that there was a balance before doing this. I am thoroughly disgusted, and if I ever rent from Enterprise again, it will certainly NOT be from this location! read more
