I haven't rented a vehicle is a few years but my current experience is unbelievable. Avis has always been my first pick but after today. That definitely has changed. I made my reservation on Feb 9th for a pickup truck. I received a call yesterday on Feb 14th that they don't have a pickup but they have a minivan. I explained that I requested a pickup truck. She then explained to me that they normally don't have any pickup trucks at her location and that I can call around to see if they will honor the price I got but she will check with the airport location. She said she left a message for someone to call her back by 12pm but would have the person that open this morning call me to let me know. My reservation was for 8am and I got there around 815 with no phone call. When I got to the location, I didn't see many cars at all, maybe 3 vehicles and none of them were pickups. I went and spoke to the representative and explained I was here for my reservation. He didn't even look at the note his manager left him to call me this morning. He said that DFW was on the way with a pickup truck if I don't mind waiting, I said I don't mind waiting but is he sure they are coming? He said let me text my manager. He text his manager and she responded that she contacted the DFW airport but no one never got back to her. He told me that I could call around to the other Avis locations to see if they have a truck and see if they transfer my reservation to them and see if they can honor the price I got. The main thing wrong with this situation, as the Consumer why do I have to do the leg work? I placed the reservation in ample time in order for them to get a pickup truck to their location in 5 days. read more

Went to return the vehicle. Drop off time is 12pm , I got there at 11:58am . No one was here to help me with the return. My husband found a key drop box so I left the key there . I did which I got the call center . They were all rude , a supervisor was no help he told me I should be there 15 minutes early. Sir I did not get the vehicle 15 minutes early. Oh and somebody was there to pick up a rental as well. He wasn't able to pick up his rental. This is unacceptable I will never rent from Avis . I don't care if I will have to pay more with another company. read more

The Avis location located at 2403 W. Stemmons team were totally unhelpful in every aspect. They did not have a car ready for me when I showed up, told me I had to call and find another vehicle would not help me locate a car and did not help me get to the next location. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The man working the counter gave me the worse customer service ever. I didn't even want to talk to me Outside to walk around the vehicle to confirm There was no damage. I did it myself. I asked him To please give me the total before charging my card. Instead my card was charged $620, almost triple what my email said. It's been 5 days I still have no received my refund. I have no money and my account it's continuously Being hit with bills. This location is a small Avis/Budget rental booth in the parking lot of Visa Ridge Mall in front of Sears.I ended up choosing this location as it was closer. Service was great! Even though they were limited on their selection that day (due to the storm & people not returning their rentals due to cancelled flights), they were able to get me a last-minute rental for the weekend. Service was quick and friendly. You park your car at the same lot as Vista Ridge Mall. I was told security drives around everyday. My car was still there when I got back! So...I'd definitely consider this location again for my future rentals. Don't confuse it with the other Lewisville location (which is further up north). read more

Do not use this place period!!!! I set my rental for a full size car for 3 days 2 months prior to my trip. The total amount was $108. I call to try and pick up the car later because I knew I wouldn't make it by 12pm. As a result the price was jacked up $50 more just for a 1.5 hour delay. We had to lower the car to a mid size car and the ending total was $158 even with going down a size. I asked the guy what will be the full total my card will be charged. He states $158 and showed me the contracted we had signed. About 3 hours later I checked my account and a total of $550 was debited from my account by them. I call the 800 number and they stated it was a deposit. I would have been ok with it had I known it was coming. The guy at the front never once made mention of it. Then when we came back to return the car he still had no idea of what it was and why it was not explained to me before the rental. Also the car was a 2016 Nissan and made more noises and creeks than my 2008 Ford Focus. This place is a scam just stick to enterprise. It's more expensive but it's well worth it. After they finish up charging you it will be the same price. read more

The Absolute WORST service ever. They will add charges to your receipt and tell you that it's just something they charge, and you have to pay because that's how it is. They will also add things like roadside assistance without your permission then tell you that you signed the contract. BEWARE This place is a nightmare!! They will also go back in the system and change your original order so they can charge more for the rental. In my case, I ordered a small SUV and they went back in the system and changed my reservation to a compact car then tacked on $16 upgrade fees a day to get more money. Everything they do here is shady. I have never seen such predatory behavior by a business like the one I saw at this business. It's just downright unfair and people who take advantage of others the way these people do is nothing short of a travesty. I have never felt more helpless than I did with the people at Avis. They will yell at you and even threaten to add more charges if you don't "shut up and leave". I don't normally write negative reviews, but I needed to do my part to share my experience with others. If this review can help even one person avoid what I had to go through then that will be plenty enough. Update: I checked my account today and she added on extra charges. She told me she would do this, but I didn't expect her to. After all, that can't be legal. I have a final receipt for one amount and you charge my card another? NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!! And I rented from them for several years, but NOW they are under new management!!! The new manager or manager trainee...don't know..... this lady is possibly working for another government! Do not use them! I was recently overcharged x 4 for a $230.00 rental fee, which overdrafted my bank account, and then my house payment check was returned as a result. This was a several day nightmare, and when I called to complain she acted like it was my fault! I told her I would be turning her into the BBB, as this was not the first time this had happened. If you rent from them, beware...they will add charges, tolls you never used, etc., etc. They charged my account over $1000.00 and it was days before it was reversed. DO NOT USE THEM....try Enterprise... esp the Dallas Denton Drive location. You will love them over there! Great customer service....they listen....they are AMERICAN....or they look like they are from AMERICA....
