    horrible service. do not rent from here. overcharging for ezpass, in which i did not even get on the highway.smh

    I'd give them zero stars if that were an option. I made a reservation for a midsized car for a long weekend. The manager, (ms. D.W.) waited on me personally. She told me she needed to see my bank employee ID. I told her I hadn't worked for that bank in many years. She got very upset and said that my reservation was based on that AWD number so she would have to cancel it. (Note: that AWD number was put into my profile when I worked for the bank. I did not realize the AWD number on my profile was for that bank, as there is no way to identify an AWD number. It was not intentional.) As my appointments that morning had all finished early, I went to pick up the car early (11:30 AM for a 1:00 PM reservation). Ms. D.W., after telling me she'd have to cancel my reservation and start fresh, said she didn't have any midsized cars available. I told her I still need to go on this family trip. She typed for a bit then printed a contract for me. She had upgrade me to an SUV which she said was all she had available. The charge went up to $844.25 and I told her I didn't want an SUV. She told me I should come back at 1:00 when my reservation was for, so I went down the street to a coffee shop to wait. While waiting at the coffee shop, I looked at the Avis app and noticed my reservation was gone. Nothing. I also had an email from American Express with a notification for large purchase approval for $844.25 from Avis. I went back to the Avis counter where I was again told to come back at 1:00. Retuning at 1:01 PM, I had to wait as there were several other customers ahead of me, all of which Ms. D.W. attempted to upgrade to a "Mercedes I have. It's only $20 a day more. A really good deal." She printed up the rental agreement for me without telling me what kind of car or what the price was. It was a mid-sized car and the price was more than double what my original quote was. Granted, the AWD number had been removed, but I don't believe Avis gives bank customers %50 off. Ms. D.W. needed to punish me for the AWD number mishap, even though I was up front with her at the very beginning telling her I hadn't worked for that bank in several years. Ms. D.W. may be good for Avis with her upcharging and upselling, but clearly she should not be customer facing. I don't believe she has the personality to deal with customers. I have deleted my Avis Preferred account and will be deleting my Avis.com account altogether once this rental is finalized, ending my near 20 year relationship with Avis.

    Average at best. I come often. Usually service is okay. They have a weird sense of humor, but whatever. And are slow. Today 3 people at the front and only 1 helping customer. Why have I been waiting 10 minutes already when there are 3 people behind the counter? And they wonder why customers are not enthused

    45 minute wait WITH a reservation.

    Con company!!!!! Be ware they charge you double when you get there!! They also give you a different car! Be very careful!!

I had to exchange the first I picked up the key wasn't working properly...And not to mention it was all scratched and dented up like really ...Ya had nice cars before smooth riders....

I'll include my experience below but for those not interested in reading the details, please just know that you business should be taken elsewhere. Full disclosure: I do not receive any commission from recommending the following company. I am only doing it to hopefully dissuade others from using the garbage Prestige Car Rental Company. Please note that a manager never returned any of my phone calls or attempted to discuss this experience. I was completely ignored and no contact was ever made. Dear Prestige Car Rental Management, I am writing regarding a recent experience I had at Prestige Car Rental; I have been a customer multiple times now and I am writing to hopefully give an opportunity to right this wrong regarding my most recent rental experience. I made an online reservation on June 20th for a compact car on June 29th. I immediately called the office after placing the reservation that same day to inquire if I needed to put down a deposit in order to confirm the reservation.  I was told by a young man in the office that I did not need to supply a deposit and that the reservation was good. I received a confirmation e-mail on June 27th, two days before, to confirm the reservation.  Then, the night before on June 28th at 4:30pm I received an e-mail saying the reservation had been cancelled.  I called off the office and spoke to Cindy that same night who told me that I should have put down a deposit and that all the vehicles had been booked; there were no other cars except for a cargo van.  Having no other option, I was forced to rent a work cargo van for the day which ended up being more expensive than the compact car I originally reserved.  Further, I had to drive to CT with my 7 month pregnant wife to our own baby shower -- my wife and I were incredibly uncomfortable the entire way.  When I arrived in the morning to pick up the vehicle, I noted that there was a customer in front of me who picked up the compact car that I initially had a reservation to rent. I believe it was unacceptable that my reservation was cancelled with less than 16 hours notice the night before I was to pick it up just to hand off the same reservation to a customer who likely had a longer trip booked. Furthermore, I see on the Prestige website that customers incur a $100 charge if they no-show for a reservation.  It seems very unfair to me that customers are expected to pay this fee for a no-show; however Prestige Car Rental is seemingly under no obligation to offer the same courtesy when they behave the same way.  I believe that I should be entitled this same $100 credit for my next booking with Prestige. If a deposit is required to secure a rental then it should be asked for up-front; I would have been very happy to pay this and, in truth, it would have saved my wife and I a huge inconvenience if it had been asked for up front.

The people who work there have always been good-humored and friendly to me, but when one of them told me, "Please complain to customer service, we're overworked and understaffed and our equipment doesn't work,," I felt like I had to write this. Where to begin? The printer that doesn't work. The receipts that don't show up until two or three weeks later because the computers were down. The lines of people waiting when there's no one staffing the booth and there's a "Back in 15" sign taped in the window. But what's worse are the phantom charges--three of which I've had to dispute during my last three rentals, all of which have required numerous mind-numbing calls with customer service where each conversation is the first conversation and I have to tell the whole story again. Late charges for cars that were delivered on time but were checked in late because the place was understaffed and the computers weren't working. All the time wasted waiting on hold. Hundreds of dollars worth of extra charges that weren't on the pre-paid estimate. Most recently, a charge for a full tank of gas when the car was rented out when it was empty and it said so on the receipt. As I write this, I am still waiting to be reimbursed for that charge despite having sent photos and despite having been reassured that reimbursement was forthcoming. Again, I'm sorry to be writing this. The rental facility is so conveniently located. But I'm tired of checking every receipt and finding expensive errors, tired of having to take photos of receipts and agreements so I'll have evidence when I inevitably have to dispute a charge, tired of feeling like a sucker whenever I rent here. I keep wondering if someone is running a scam out of this place, but I can't imagine who would benefit and I'm tired of wondering about that too.I have to rent a car in the next couple of weeks, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Update: This was finally resolved and the refund was given. But it took too long and was far too aggravating. Which is why I'm updating this review from the lobby of Hertz.

Before the pandemic this Avis frequently did not have the cars/accessories available on bookings. They once sent us to the location on W76 without confirming a car seat was available and we ultimately had to drive to East 40's to pick one up, on a Friday afternoon. Today they didn't have anything but pick up trucks even though I booked a medium sized. Never again.
