Rachel at this location is horrible. After a nightmare experience I highly recommend avoiding this location for any rental services. Rachel runs this location with a "my husband is the owner so good luck complaining" attitude and throws her ego as power. Avis customer service was no help with their own system or process and continued to tell me they couldn't help. I spent over 3 hours trying to secure a rental from this location to then be told by Rachel that we aren't a good fit and she can't help us either. 35 minute drive each way to get here and worst experience ever. Also got told they had 30 reservations with only 5 cars available so if you make your reservation, do it with caution your on a list that they don't call right away or have and system pending wait list actions to leave you with no car. The trailer park couple that manage this location has fraudulently charged my credit card 3 times in the amount of almost $3000. IMO, this location is a hub of identity theft. The last charge, in the amount of $1017, was posted out of Florida, but the credit card was only used physically in the Scottsdale, AZ Avis location. Look at all the negative Google reviews regarding fraudulent credit card charges. Stereotypes are true for a reason. read more

RE: CASE NUMBER 45068989 Avis Case: 45068989 The FBI defines organized crime as any group having some manner of a formalized structure and whose primary objective is to obtain money through illegal activities. I rented a car from Avis and prepaid the fees for the duration of the rental Friday July 30th until 5:30PM on Aug 4th, 2021 (see reservation and Paypal receipt below). When we returned the car on the designated date and 30 minutes before the designated time on the agreement. I dropped my wife and kids off at the main terminal and returned the car to Avis. There was a long line of cars and no one from Avis in sight, I waited for about ten minutes, but it was obvious no one was working for Avis at that time. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas and there was absolutely no damage to the car. We probably drove it for less than 70 miles for our entire stay with my relatives. When we arrived back in California my wife went to grab her keys from her purse and found the keys to the rental car. We immediately called Avis in Minneapolis and they told us to send the keys to the address on the key chain. My wife sent them via FedEx overnight delivery the next day. So, we assumed there would be an extra day charged for our rental. My daughter worked for Enterprise (great company), and she said all the rental car companies have two sets of keys for each vehicle, but we wanted to make sure to get them the keys right away. On Aug. 9th a week later, we got a charge for $333.89 and my wife and I assumed it was because of the key being late. They never sent an invoice or explanation for the charge they just went into my business account and deducted the funds. I should have disputed the fee, but I felt responsible for the key, so we did not argue with them over the charge. Now here is where I have a problem. On February 9th, six months after they up charged me $333.89 (they never sent me an itemized statement) they charged me again for an additional $443.00 with no explanation on either charge. 6 MONTHS LATER!!!! I contacted them immediately and they said the charge was for a rental. I explained to them that I did not rent a car from them and have not been back to Minneapolis since our trip in July/Aug. They insisted that they don't make mistakes like this, and it had to be correct because they ask for I.D.'s when someone rents a car. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and we got disconnected. I called back and asked how I could dispute the charge. They opened a case number 45068989 and sent me an email asking me for my proof of the charge and my rental agreement. I sent them screen shots of my bank statement and the charge and explained that I did not have a rental agreement because I did not rent a car from them. When I asked them to send me proof that I rented a car they could not come up with any paperwork that I rented a car or even that someone impersonating me renting a vehicle. They asked for and I gave them the bank information below, and they sent me an email again asking for the rental agreement. Again, I explained I did not have rental information because I had not rented a car from them for over 6 months, but I resent the bank statement with the charge information. At this point I was not getting anywhere with Avis, so I contacted Farmers Bank to help resolve the issue with Avis. I receive a letter from F & M on April 14th, 2022, stating that you attempted to resolve the issue, but Avis provided information that validated the charges. What did they provide them? Did they provide a rental agreement with my signature? No! They have done a complete 180 on their story, first it was a rental charge and that did not work out so now they are giving them a statement that the charge was for vehicle repair cost, yet there was no accident, and the vehicle had no problems Or It could be emergency roadside cost (there was never any emergency or any roadside assistance?) Or Administrative cost (key remake) incurred during the rental (I did explain that we overnighted the key via FedEx and everyone knows they have two sets for each vehicle. Or How about they don't have any need to charge an additional $443, that's what it truly is. Hey if they throw enough possibilities or shit against the wall maybe some of it will stick. No one contacted us regarding either of the extra charges nor did they provide any itemization for the charges. They clearly have a predatory practice of arbitrarily charging people for extra fees and stealing customers money, this is fraud plain and simple. Go to any review site and you will find similar stories as mine. If the $443 wasn't for a rental charge as originally explained, then provide an itemized bill for exactly what the charge is for and provide an itemized statement for the $333.89 charge as well. Operator was extremely argumentative, and was either incompetent or was purposely misinterpreting our conservation so that he could overcharge us. We ended up cancelling our reservation completely because of his unwillingness to cooperate and his attitude, and he still charged us the full amount of the rental plus an additional $200, even though we never touched the rental car or signed a single document. I would not consider this location at all in your search, this guy is a total scumbag. read more

Shoutout to the clown at the front desk. ( Obese guy with thick mustache and 5 year olds voice ). Worst experience of any kind. It was something out of a nightmare. No one gives you accurate info, been trying to rent an Uber rental car for a month now and no one mentioned that I needed to sign up for an Avis account "preferred" member which has no valuable benefits to be just a regular account? Why would you have that option, make it simple for customers. Complete disaster of an experience, I called to get questions for when the car will be ready and the guy mentioned above called me a clown for calling and asking when my car will be ready. I show up to the place and they tell me info that's inaccurate AGAIN, said my background check will take a week when it took 15 mins. So then they gave my car to someone else after I've waiting for a month trying back and fourth with them. I'm not the type to give up on things but I give up trying to work with Avis and getting any rental with them. I called Lyft and gave me a car later in the afternoon with a very simple easy online process. Took me 4 mins with their app vs this Avis crap. And Avis has the nerve to call their app "Innovating", what a joke. But jokes on the clown working there...50 years old and works at an Avis front desk....get a life. read more

They now charged me over $500 to tow their own car that broke down! If a district manager doesn't reach out within 24 hours, I will be filing a lawsuit. This has been the worst experience of my life. I rented a car through Uber's program, and the first few days everything was fine. First, I had an employee call me threatening to have the car repo'd even though the car was paid for. He has extremely rude on the phone and hung up on me. I believe is name was Jim. The manager John was able to listen to me, find out it was a mistake and apologized. The next week, I noticed my card hasn't been run on Thursday when it should, so I reached out and asked if there was in issue. The manager John said he needed to run it the following day because my contract was so close to 1:00pm. Didn't makes sense but whatever, they have things they need to do. Friday comes along and the car had an electrical problem: brake lights wouldn't work, car wouldn't start, etc. I tried calling all day long, no call back and no answer. To this point they still hadn't run my card at all. (They said they ran it Friday, and was declined - I know that's a lie because I would have gotten notification from my bank that it was approved or declined, so I'll be requesting proof of declined transaction from July 17.) in any case, all the money was there. I couldn't drive all weekend because they were closed and I lost at least $700. Fast forward to Monday, I had to get the car towed, was told I'd have a replacement car. It's now Tuesday and they said they won't have a car now for a while because 6 of the 8 cars they have on the lot, won't start. So now here we are, I'll go homeless in the next few days without a way to earn income and no one seems to car that this has been a total mess from the beginning. They even threatened to put me on a "do not rent" list when I've been nothing but polite to John, even through all this. I cursed at the other employee. Jim, the beet firafter he called me a criminal and said the police would remove me from the car and wouldn't let me speak to the manager... that was when it had already been paid for and the manager John finally confirmed and apologized that they tried to repo it. Of course I was upset, I had every right to be. It was admitted to me that they've been having a lot of issues, with cards, driver, cars, etc. I told John my situation was delicate, that I wouldn't put myself in a situation to not have this car as it's the only source of income for me. He assured me, I'd get a call if something ever didn't go through. I've done ever asked of me and then some, this company has not followed through on a single thing they've communicated. I've asked for the District Manager, Mo, to reach out to me even though I was told she wouldn't/couldn't help me out. Hopefully that actually happens, or I will escalate further to the BBB, Uber, and the media as you have left me with no other choice. When I called today - John's tone had changed and all of a sudden, I had done everything wrong and I couldn't get a replacement car. This place is a joke! Between the owner and the workers behind the desk. They will rip you off and hit you with more charges and fees at the end. We had one the worst experiences between being stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire with 3 kids under 5 and our grandmother all in the car. We had to wait over 5 1/2 hours on the side of the road for them to get us someone with a jack to change our tire! We had AAA but were told they had to use their own company. Then since we were in vacation and didn't want to buy a new tire! Which they said was the only option besides trading the car for another which then they up charged after telling us they wouldn't. This place is absolutely horrible between the front desk guy that didn't know anything!! The front desk guy gave us the car and said it had 45k miles and we get back to it and it's at 84k!! They are absolutely terrible at their job!!! And now the owner who is a stealing crook and will charge you for everything without telling you up front and will it care about anything that happens after! DONT USE THIS PLACE! read more

Long story.. Avis has always been a preferred choice for my car rentals. For about a year I rented a car to do Uber Eats from this location. The guys here were helpful to me and we had a nice working relationship. However, I can't bring myself to give higher than a 1 star rating. Why? I needed to return the car and was told to bring it in for 8 am to avoid a charge from my card. Well the store operator informed me that the charge went through at 7:30 due to what he calls their "ancient computer system". I was told that the charge was voided and that my refund would be coming back to me. A few days passed and still nothing. When I called the store they told me it would take a little longer due to the processing and some other "blah blah". A few more days passed and still no refund, so I called the main customer service number. They told me that it would take about another week for my refund to be sent back to me. Two weeks later and I'm still waiting for my money which I could really use. By now, it's given me the feeling that a lot of run around is given and excuses are made just to give the customer somewhat of a "reasonable" answer to their questions especially when it comes to money. The weeks long hold on a customer's money and the excuses ("ancient computer system") are not good for business!! It hasn't always been this way and maybe because I'm an Uber Driver it's a little more complicated when it really shouldn't be. I've also seen and heard certain things regarding the customers and rentals at that particular store. Never had any issues in Flagstaff or other Avis stores. Despite the decent working relationship we had, I won't be doing any business with that branch again. I will also continue to chase the refund that is OWED to me until it or at this point even more is paid back!! read more

I've been on a waiting list for uber for over 3 day's. I was promised a car on Friday but I wasn't given a car on the date I was told. I do uber for a living and its hurting my pocket because they do not have enough cars for uber to rent out. They aren't open on the weekend so that didn't help either.. This place has Uber ride share and I am a driver. Well they close at 4 pm more like 330, they don't answer calls and it's a bunch more. I hope they read this cause it took my wife to have me no go in and snap. Here you go all. Well every week they were charging 253.77 for tide share drivers, no prob, then all of sudden I get a call and it's up to 309.per week no explanation nothing. But there is more, well on top of the 253 weekly, they also put a hold of the same amount on your bank acct for 5 days, so your looking over drawn til Friday morning. This is done every week. So now today I went in to advise them hey Matt card was compromised over weekend and my wife is here and she is going to use her card, oh res flags, cause it has to have my name so they tell me to go to Alaska bank to get a 'same day' card with name on it. And come back, so I'm like seriously? So now I am unable to pay for rental on my wife's card and to get a new bank. So fast fwd few hrs later on Uber acct my vehicle has been removed. They are extremely rude, they asked us to wear mask but when there are buddy buddy inside without mask. So whoever's the area supervisor needs to get some help here I understand pandemic has people messed up but this is ridiculous. You not even willing to work with someone and oh yeah btw, the vehicle is still in my yard right now at 230pm and they have my deposit. read more

This is the second time that I rented from this place. Good customer service at the counter and open on Sunday . That's why I gave it two stars. Both times the car is filthy inside and outside. The windshield is dirty and front end full of bugs. What car rental company does not wash their cars after each rental use. Nasty. It's not up too a national chain car rental standards. read more
