This place is special. Great selections of breakfast food and lunch meals. I am so happy to have found this restaurant. You order at the register, they serve you a beautiful meal that is very affordable, they take the dishes and clean up. This place is clean, safe, inexpensive and delicious.

I recently went to avocado express for lunch. I ordered to go. I called ahead of time and was told 10 mins. By time I arrived, my food was ready. I order the Spicy bacon chicken ranch wrap (no bacon) with fruit. The wrap was so good and the fruit was fresh. The food was packaged nicely and the service was fast. Inside the restaurant is small, maybe enough to sit 6-7 small groups. The parking lot is small in the front but there is an overflow in the back of the restaurant. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back.

On our way to Six Flags, we stopped here to have a quick breakfast. Being a Saturday morning, the place was VERY busy. However, the staff worked great together and our food came fairly promptly. The food was very good and was presented in a decent portion. It was ALMOST too much considering we were on our way to be jolted around a roller coaster park but turned out perfectly. We picked up breakfast here last week and Oh my God, it was so yummy! I got the Avocado Benedicts which was fantastic! I know, Benedicts to go is not like a great idea, but these ones were incredible. Those came perfectly on point with the avocado and that delicious hollandaise sauce on the bottom of the English Muffin! My husband got the chilaquiles verdes. Those were delicious too! Perfectly seasoned and comfortably hot! On top of everything, the prices are GREAT! and everything was ready within 10 minutes. I loved it. We are looking forward to dine in!

Excellent Torta de Asada! This place doesn't disappoint; I got that along with a side of fruit. Service was terrific, and they were accommodating to some minor adjustments to my order and were ready at suitable timing. What I will dock off from a star was a lack of fruit than what I would've gotten, at least in my opinion, if I had ordered fries instead. Another thing I wish that I may change is to toast the bread. The soggy texture doesn't live up to the entirety of the dish as the toppings were delicious, but it made the whole meal too soft for my tastes. Overall, you can't go wrong with a good steak, tomato, onions, lettuce, cheese, jalapeños, and indeed- avocados! Aside from the minor flaws, I may return and certainly recommend Avocado Express to anyone in the area!

This place may not look like much on the outside but they sure do know how to cook. Their chilaquiles Verde is to die for. The best I've had in quite awhile. They have delicious horchata too. This places does get packed occasionally but they do a great job moving service along. It opens early and closes early so if you go be mindful of that. It's a breakfast and lunch spot. And if you go on the weekend expect there to be a wait. Great taste for great prices. But note when they are packed they dont really pay attention to your order if you make changes. I'll be back to try more on their menu.

A line practically out the door when we arrived at 10 am on a Sunday. Almost worth it. I say almost because I'm still in search of the perfect California breakfast burrito...in Illinois and I almost found it. I say almost because they had a breakfast burrito- eggs, cheese, bacon but they labeled it a "wrap" and you had your choice of either flour or wheat... probably to appease their white clientele. And they had hasbrowns...the shredded potato kind which they would have gladly added to my wrap but as a side. AS A SIDE. Not in the burrito a la California style but on the side. When I questioned the manager, he said they couldn't do it because the wrap would break. Woe. Is. Me. But overall, a great place for breakfast not too far from the Naval Base where my husband ran a 10K this morning at the ungodly hour of 7 am. Which meant we had to leave Chicago at 5:15 am. The other breakfast item we got which was definitely worth it was the avocado eggs benedict with a side of the hashbrowns. Freaking delicious. And amazingly priced at $7. Our total breakfast was $18 with tip. Plenty of parking in the back. Not too much seating but even with the line out the door, traffic moved rather quickly. Would definitely come back.

Well this place has good service as well for food. The pricing is ok not bad at all I paid 7.65 for chilaquiles and a drink. But they have way more other options in the menu. The place is clean overall and didn't do a bathroom review but expect it to be clean. Would come back again

DELICIOUS food, large portions for a very reasonable price. Their panini's are huge, about the size of two regular sandwiches! I ended up sharing half of mine. My son had French toast and two eggs sunny side up, my husband got the Huevos Rancheros, and I ordered the Panini which came with hash browns. This all only came to around $25! If we lived in the area we would frequent this place.

Boyfriend took me here for our Sunday brunch. It's a cute little place located on Washington and Green Bay rd. The food is freshly made (open kitchen) so it can take a while if there's a lot of people. I got the avocado chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. If you're like me and don't like the meat overly salty, then you won't be disappointed in this sandwich. I like how they have the chipotle mayo on the side for you as well. The mayo is a tiny bit spicy which I don't like. I'm assuming they fry everything in that fryer, that's why their fries have that tortilla after taste lol. The corn tortilla taste doesn't really bother me but would prefer fries to taste like fries. The chicken chipotle panini isn't bad either! If you like that light spiciness on your sandwich, this one is for you! And who doesn't like bacon on their sandwich?! :) I notice their soft drink is kinda pricey. Especially for the size. I would return and try their breakfast next time. Looks delicious.

This place is honestly terrible. Me and one other person came in at 1250 and did not get our food until 130, the food is not good at all. Bacon was extremely fatty and undercooked, the staff is not paying attention always on their phones and talking to their friends that always come in, the regular customers are also annoying and bring their very loud kids in the restaraunt, plus no a/c so get ready to sweat if you come here. Today was our first experience here and it was excellent from start to finish. We where greeted with enthusiasm and a warm smile. After checking out the menu choices we settled on one breakfast item "avocado Benedict " get t with house hot sauce & "chicken club with extra crispy fries" comes with home made aioli. Omg so good! We dipped our fries into the aioli to our hearts content. They do come bus the tables even though you order at the counter which is nice. We sat outside and watched the world go by while eating this yummy meal. At one point the proprietress came out to check in and we had a lovely conversation. All good things. Know this folks. I adore egg harbor and wildberry in libertyville, but the food here today was actually better and at $16 for 2? You just can't beat that. Everything is fresh. BTW... Best eggs Benedict I've ever had. If I could give hem less than one star I would. They are so rude!!!!! We got there early cause I noticed it gets really busy and we wanted to dine in. There was one free table, I told my sister to go sit there while I ordered for the both of us. They kicked her out because the person who got there AFTER us wanted to sit there. Lol this place is a joke. Don't even waste your time coming here. Your customers are your business! Learn customer service skills! I'm NEVER coming here again! I'm taking my money elsewhere! I was expecting the menu to be avocado surplus. The food was quite average. I think I was expecting more based on the name of the restaurant. I ordered the chorizo skillet and it was really really average. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and sweet. Overall I don't care to come back. The dining room is quite small (like 30 people max). It didn't shine, and I'm so sad. read more

Two starts because Service was close to 0. Ordered online. The called my cell to say their "menu changed" after re-ordering AE confirm my order to be ready in twenty minutes. I arrived thirty minutes later allowing ample time to be packed and ready. The worst fear of a an online/phone order: was NOT EVER placed. My order did not ever exist! Sad, I was starving! read more

Seems like a local hot spot. My whole family is vegetarian and got sides of hash browns. I found bits of sausage in mine and my brother found bacon.. other than that it was a nice place. Recommend the fresh orange juice. read more

I have to be in Waukegan regularly for work and have stopped by this establishment numerous times. Very friendly, Husband and Wife run restaurant (and they are apparently opening a location in Libertyville as well before the end of 2015). All the meals I have ordered have been tasty and you sure can't beat the prices...don't think I have ever paid more than $8 for a meal and drink there (compared to $12-$15 at Panera, Noodles, Potbelly, Chipolte, etc). The only complaint I would have is to leave the hash browns on the grille a little bit longer. =) read more

1 star today for this place is more than I wanted to rate. We are very disappointed in the breakfast this morning. The food tasted terrible. We ordered 3 main meals and the eggs tasted bad, the sausage links had a bad after taste and weren't cooked all the way and the French toast looked and tasted terrible and were burned. Really disappointed after eating here several time, this will be my last . Then I used a Restaurant.com coupon that I redeemed today and the manager tells me that she doesn't accept them anymore. If I did it today then it should have been accepted or at least offered a discount for the inconvenience. Terrible managing, terrible customer service and terrible food. Will not return Terrible waste of $30. read more

Small cute little restaurant with quick service. Tried the chicken pesto panini and it was pretty good! It had a little more cheese than I was expecting and the pesto was yummy. Very limited outdoor seating. The staff is nice and they got your food out quickly. The only thing was the fries tasted a little different then what fries should taste like. On the bright side, the juices were fresh and very good. Ultimately, the food is highly overpriced for the quality you receive. Breakfast for four came out to over $100. If you're going to charge top-notch prices, the execution needs to be top-notch too. Hopefully, they can tighten up their kitchen consistency, but for now, it's a bit of a letdown.

The decor is nice, with appropriate themes for a breakfast restaurant and the seating is comfortable. Service is not super fast, but not too slow for a spot that is this busy. The food is really the star here, in terms of the items offered and in the quality of ingredients, good textures, and design of the dishes. I was very pleased that every dish I tried was minimally very good, and flavorful. The burritofull morning sounds like a standard breakfast burrito, but the flat iron steak was spiced to perfection and tender. The mix of chorizo, roasted peppers, chipotle crema, and salsa verde were surprisingly not too salty and really helped to enhance the flavor of the steak. The crispy hash browns, onions, and chihuahua cheese helped to round out the remainder of this dish with some carbs and a bit of fat, resulting in a very enjoyable dish with nice crispy potatoes on the side. The chicken fried chicken skillet mixed a lot of flavorful elements without being too salty. The golden fried chicken is tender inside, with almost a crispy tempura style batter and is mixed with honey smoked bacon, sausage, and griddled country ham. The bell peppers, and onion add a nice sweetness and extra aroma to the dish. This is topped off with a fairly light sausage gravy, cheddar, and jack cheeses. The potatoes matched well with the gravy, but also helped to absorb some of the fat from the meats. The overall combination was delicious and something I'd definitely order again. The banoffee pie pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've had in the last year. Light and super fluffy is not an understatement. Topped with bananas and lots of chocolate chips and chocolate curls, this is intense without being overly sweet or indulgent. The toffee sauce lightly blends in with the other ingredients and the graham cracker crumbles add a nice, almost banana pie feel to the dish. Highly recommended as a very balanced and delicious option. The corned beef hash and eggs may have been one of the best dishes to show off pure ingredient quality. This is house-made corned beef that is extremely tender and not too salty. A simple mix of green peppers, red peppers, and onions really allow the meat quality to shine without distraction, with crispy potatoes to add a bit of starch to the dish. The tres leches french toast was masterfully done, eggy, thick, with just the right level of firmness. The coconut flakes were an amazing combination with the milks, and cinnamon whipped cream, hazelnut syrup, and coconut cream elevated the flavors without making the entire dish too sweet. My only comment is that compared to other items on the menu, the serving of this felt a bit small for the price. The lil'bit of chicken fried is not your average chicken sandwich. This is quality throughout the entire dish from the buttered brioche down to the perfectly cooked chicken. The biggest surprise for me is the pickles, which have the perfect texture and level of acid. This goes great with the sweet potato fries which are lightly crisp and quite flavorful. Avocado Express is probably the best thing that has happened to Waukegan. The staff is friendly and make you feel at home. What's better is the story behind the restaurant, how the husband and wife's dream is coming true. Love it. The food is absolutely excellent. Everything is made fresh to order, so yes it does take longer than the average fast food. Absolutely worth it. They offer a variety of food without getting too over themselves with the menu. From breakfast to lunch/dinner the prices are amazing. Where else would you get a fresh, hot, perfect panini and crisp fries for $6? You as well get the choice of fries or fruit. The fruit makes this place double as an actual healthy, fast-food restaurant. I have to say the only downfall are the hours of operation on weekends. At least until 10pm, please!
