Not much has changed at this local establishment since it opened. The ambiance is a diner for sure...not updated in a while but always clean. Service is excellent and personal. We had breakfast on this occasion and it was very good despite not having their world famous cinnamon buns available (pre-ordering for our next visit!). This place is very easy to drive past and not notice but I am so glad we DID noticed it one morning while looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. The vibe was immaculate including the incredibly warm welcoming staff to the "regulars" sitting at the bar. The staff members were not only plesant but attentive. It's a bit cozy (small) but I like that when it comes to a diner/breakfast place. Our food came out fast and was so darn tasty. I've been here a few times, but not in years. Yesterday, my wife and I were out and neither of us had eaten. It was late Sunday morning. She wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch. I said: "I know just the place", and promptly drove here. When we walked in, there was a good crowd, but there were a few open tables. When the waitress asked us what we would like to drink, my wife said: "I'll take a Coke or a Pepsi whichever you have". The waitress said: "We have both, and RC." WHO HAS RC ANYMORE?!! My wife ordered a Coke, and I naturally ordered an RC. (In my mind I was thinking this review is off to a good start). My wife ordered a skillet and I ordered the Sloppy Joe. Sandwiches come with a bag of chips. Or, for $1 more you can order it "Deluxe" which includes fries and a cup of homemade soup. Fries and homemade soup for just $1 are you kidding me?! Today's soup choices were chicken and dumpling, or french onion. I went with the chicken and dumpling. It was excellent. When it comes to sloppy joe's - I'm very picky, but this sandwich was excellent! I'm typically not a fan of crinkle cut fries, because many places don't cook them long enough and the turn out mushy or soggy. These were cooked longer than most places, so they were nice and crispy, I was pleasantly surprised. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. There was one oddity: For her skillet, they cooked everything up and then just slapped a slice of American cheese over the top. Most places use shredded cheese and mix it throughout. When I look at photos from here I see some with shredded and some with a slice of American, so maybe it depends on the cook. Not a big deal, and won't impact my rating, just an observation. If you have a preference of sliced or shredded you may want to mention it when you order. Overall, we were very pleased with the food. The service was super friendly and quick.
