Was delighted to find Metro Clock Repair in my town. Moreover, happy that the proprietor is a…read morewoman. As a woman who worked as a sound engineer in a male-dominated field, I was pleased to support her business with my business. She came to my home, gave my grandmother's hand-made mantle clock a once-over, provided a quote, took the old time piece to her shop and did the work. Tanja knows her stuff. When she brought the working clock back a few days ago, I cried to hear it tick and ring again since that sound was an integral part of the happiest days of my childhood.

Needless to say, I was concerned about finding as knowledgeable and trustworthy a resource as it appears that a storefront provider of this service is impossible to locate. I conducted a Duck Duck Go search and I located Metro Clock Repair. The comments about the services provided by Tanja were consistent and true. She came by my home and provided long overdue timely maintenance to my treasured clock as well and took a smaller non-working clock back to her shop so that she could locate and install replacement mechanics. In my discussions with her I could see that she is dedicated to providing the special attention timepieces require. We shared a love for classical timepieces. The quality of service far exceeded the cost. I am so happy to have her as a resource for my timepieces. We need to patronize and publicize the services provided by Metro Clock Repair, so they too are available for when we and others need them. Thanks so much, Tanja!

An hour later he left with the clock repaired and completely serviced. Friendly and professional in everything he did. I totally recommend Pleasant Times for any repair of a grandfather clock. The clock was purchased in Germany and is almost 100 years old and with it now working properly I am a very satisfied customer

I rarely get on-line to write a review unless the service is exceptional, which is rare these days…read more I have a Grandfather clock from the early eighties. I only had it serviced a few years after I purchased it. Now after 30+ years, the clock started having problems for several weeks. I went to look up repair services for the clock. At first, I found a few other repair places and did not see Pleasant Times on the list. I had a repair guy from another shop come out to check my clock. He came and was very nice, but he brought no tools except for a small syringe filled with 'nano' oil. He just went on each side of the upper part of the clock and dropped a little oil. He told me if that didn't work, the clock would have to have a major overhaul in his shop. He barely left my home when the clock got worse. I decided, at that point, I needed to get another opinion from someone else to see if another visit to the house would end up getting the same results or not. I went back to searching, again, to look for someone else. It was on one site that I saw Pleasant Times and they were local. I called and spoke to Joan. She was extremely knowledgeable and filled me in on their background, etc . She told me her son had taken over repairing the clocks since her husband had passed several years ago. I decided to have her son come out to look at the clock. When he came to my door, he had a full toolbox filled with anything he needed to work on the clock. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable about clocks. Bruce spent almost 2 hours working on the clock to the point of taking the complete guts of the clock out of the casing to examine it more closely. He adjusted and oiled many points in the clock, reinstalled everything back, and got my clock working wonderfully once again. I asked him if my clock needed to be taken into his shop for major servicing. He said from what he saw, he thought what he had done would be enough for now. He did say that it could work for days, weeks, or even years. He said if and when it stopped working properly, again, then the clock would have to go into the shop for a major overhaul. Since he came to my home, the clock has been working beautifully and sounding better than ever. I cannot thank these people enough for being fair, honest, and not taking advantage of a customer. Thank you Joan and Bruce. You just gained a forever customer!

It kept good time and everything worked as it should except the seconds hand would not return to the 12 o'clock position, more like 11:58 when I finished using the chronograph. Two weeks later Eric tells me it will cost $845 to fix my problem! Now this is a watch that cost under $100 at the Ft Rucker post exchange in 1972. No thanks, I said and went to pick up the watch. Eric was not there but his father was and after some grumbling found and returned my watch which now did not run and the seconds hand was stuck at the 2 o'clock position. I told Dad that this watch ran well when I brought it in, so he took the case back off and did something as the watch was running but the second hand was "stuck" at the 2 o'clock position, not 11:58 as when I brought it in.. If I started the chronograph function, the seconds timer returned to the 2 o'clock position, not 12 o'clock. I explained all this to Dad who said I should talk to Eric. I asked Dad if he would have Eric call me. He said OK but Eric chose not to. From the many positive reviews it's obvious Eric is competent In my case, however, he ruined a watch with sentimental value that I had hoped to pass on to my grandson. Obviously, I cannot recommend them at all. But if you choose to leave a watch with them, make sure you explain and show everything about the watch.

Good work, trusted merchant, quick turnaround, reasonable pricing.
