About two months ago, I brought in an antique clock to be repaired and was looking for an estimate. One of the owners took the clock in. Three weeks later, I had not heard back and called to inquire as to the estimate status. I was basically told to chill and they would get back to me when they would get back to me. Another three weeks went by and I worked up the courage to call again. At that point, he said they were too busy. As I do not live near the shop, I told them I would pick it up when i was in the area, which happened to be today. I asked the gentleman why he bothered to take it in. He did apologize but didn't really have a good answer. I probably spent about 3 hours of my time plus gas on this little adventure. If the owner is reading this, please feel free to chime in if I'm misrepresenting anything. read more

Honest craftsmen rise and fall on their reputation. I brought two replica watches to Mahmoud on two separate occasions for service after receiving what seemed like questionable estimates to repair. Both watches were repaired for fair prices and expertly. Previous estimates quoted total overhaul and replacement of parts. In fact both watches were no more than six months old. The second watch I waited three weeks for an inflated estimate. Franklin Clock shop and Mahmoud repaired the watch in one day!! PROS: All the clocks are top quality and he even has older clocks on the back wall. He does clock repair/servicing as well. He has been in business for decades and knows everything there is to know about maintaining clocks and what goes into one. His prices are also great! CONS: Parking is scarce while the shop doesn't have too much inventory on certain select clocks (mantles, cuckoos, and watches). OVERALL: I highly recommend coming here to do business with. Walked in to have three watches looked at--was greeted by the owner and he changed the batteries in all three watches while I waited which was great. Normally I have to drop my watches off at most shops and get them in a day or two. I mentioned to him that the mechanism in at least two of the three watches may be damaged and he took a look at those as well. The batteries were $10 each which isn't bad compared to other jewelers to replace watch batteries. Their hours I believe though are a bit limited as they are only open from 10A-5P. read more

Friendly, efficient and the kind of business you want to support. Clearly loves what he does and is very good at it. Jonathan was great. We just bought a grandfather clock on Facebook marketplace. When we picked it up, we didn't move it properly and it didn't work when we got it home. Jonathan came to our house and fixed everything we damaged in the move and other things that weren't set right from the previous owners. It was way more involved than he originally thought but he stayed until everything was fixed and kept to his original quote. He answered all my questions and showed me how things worked. Fast, friendly service, and most important, ACTUALLY OPEN on Saturday. Mahmoud was super nice and fixed my aunt's battery pendulum wall clock in a jiffy -- I had thought it needed a new movement, but he looked at it and just made a slight adjustment to the existing one and voila it keeps the right time now! (I first found this business through a Yelp link - which said the business was closed. I'm glad I kept looking - and was then able to help get the Yelp link corrected. It seems that anybody can post incorrect information like this - very difficult for the business owner to get it corrected) My 19th century mantle clock - a gift from my grandmother - had stopped working. I brought the clock in. They kept it for a month, taking it completely apart to find the problem (an easy shortcut repair performed by someone else at some time in the past). Clock was carefully reassembled, tested, and is running perfectly now. In a perfect world their shop would be in a very upscale spot with easy free parking. Reality can be a different story, and I hope that they stay in their current "basic" location if it helps them stay in business. Craftsmen like this are becoming very hard to find. A+ read more

a wonderful clock/watch shop inside the lower level of the white plains mall .it was during halftime of football games at the sports page that i found this shop and it's easy to notice with a massive display of clocks and watches from grand to small in all shapes and sizes. they do service , repairs , home delivery and everything in between , they know the business in and out. i was doing some heavy window browsing cause the place was closed on sunday but i pinpointed what caught my fancy and had my friday afternoon set. a night stand old fashion alarm clock and a french wood replica clock for my den was a must buy as well . the staff are friendly and just watching them repair the watches and clocks looks like a skill that takes years to master. even if you just need a battery changed in your watch i recommend coming here to look at the assorted displays of time pieces cause it's worth the visit. read more
