These launches are always a big deal and bring such great energy! I participated in the Core launch and BodyBalance launch, and both classes were amazing. The instructor is incredible, super motivating and really knows how to make the experience feel special. She even hosted a drawing for prizes, which was a fun extra touch. The energy in the room was high, the workouts were challenging but rewarding, and my body definitely thanked me afterward. It's one of those "feel good after" kind of workouts. I also love that these classes are included with membership, it really adds value and makes it worth it. Definitely something I look forward to every time!

I'm a big fan of the sauna and love bingeing able to enjoy that throughout the year. Their locker rooms are always clean and have plenty of space for storing items. My husband appreciates that they have lockers in various places so you can quickly come and go without too much fuss. They have a great new walking area outside with other aspects like a field etc that is open to anyone in the community. Wonderful for a walk in the good weather! We have appreciated this gym and all of its aspects and will continue to enjoy it!

But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

If you are into tennis, the facility is top notch, plus they have 3 tennis courts that serve a dual purpose, so there are 6 painted pickleball court lines on them for those that prefer a tennis surface. They've done a great job with the rebrand and all of the staff I encountered were very hospitable and friendly. The lower level features a well organized weight room and the upstairs had a variety of cardio and weights equipment- a few were on the older side but everything seemed to work. They offer a handful of classes throughout the week. I could see this being a good downtown gym option if you live nearby or happen to be traveling for work and looking to squeeze in some movement .

It can be intimidating for many going to a new space, let alone a gym, but this space has no pretense other than wanting to help you meet your fitness goals in the most supportive way possible. The trainers I've gotten to interact with are encouraging and knowledgeable and are always around to answer questions or help you set up a machine if needed. They also (I believe) have cards with workout ideas if you don't really know how to structure your workout. They offer weekly classes as well ranging from yoga to strength and tone classes and more. They have a spacious locker room with showers and they also have cubbies on the main floor as well to store your things. Most of the members I've met are awesome! I highly recommend giving this gym a shot if you want a comfortable and non intimidating space to meet your fitness goals.

And it's the same great big pool I remember from when I was a kid. The reception area looks the same as it did back when I was a kid. I was a bit disappointed to see the bottom of the pool was exposed concrete with many cracks having been repaired with white epoxy seams. There was crumbled bits of concrete on the floor of the pool that I accidentally stepped on and felt like I was walking on rocks (OUCH). The locker room was okay, somewhat maze like, and could use a face lift. I went to take a shower after my dip and it ran cold to scalding with no opportunity for adjustment in between. Such a great location and facility. With so many possibilities.

First the website can be a bit weird and if you are getting day passes and it keeps saying its 'timing out' you need to make a Plainfield recs account first and it stops being weird. On my visit i purchased tickets/admission on the website because i could not tell if i could get in on location or not. Once we got thru the check in process we went to see the indoor pools first.... Well they were closed. OK... Went outside and its pretty expansive and clean. One of the non-tube slides was down as well as looks like 1/3rd of the exterior swimming items were down for what looked like cleaning since i saw staff working on it. From the maps view basically the huge lazy river side. As a non-resident the pricing i feel was a good value for goofing off in the water for roughly 3 hours. Onsite food isn't anything to rave about but at least it is available and it was not crazy prices. Tons of life guards doing an awesome job from what i could tell while watching the people watching the rest of us so i felt super safe and confortable they were keeping an eye on all the kids. I didnt grab any photos because i dont really like publishing anything with people in it.
