Based on that information, I scheduled the appointment and drove across town to bring my vehicle in. When I arrived, the same woman then told me the diagnostic would actually cost over $200 because what I described was considered "two separate issues." I was extremely frustrated because I had already explained those exact issues to her over the phone. What bothered me even more was that once I questioned the price, she suddenly wanted to give me a full disclosure and explanation of how their diagnostic pricing works. That information should have been disclosed to me when I made the appointment, not after I drove across town and showed up expecting the $49.99 diagnostic fee I had been quoted. None of this was mentioned during our original phone conversation. I decided not to have the diagnostic done because Hyundai charges around $200, and for that price I would rather take my vehicle directly to the dealership. My issue isn't that a diagnostic can cost more depending on the problem. My issue is how the pricing was communicated to me. If I had been given the full disclosure over the phone and told that my particular concerns could result in multiple diagnostic charges totaling over $200, I could have made an informed decision before making the trip. Unfortunately, I feel I was misled when I scheduled the appointment. Being upfront with customers about pricing from the beginning would have prevented this entire situation and saved me a wasted trip across town.

The at-fault party wanted to handle the repairs outside of insurance, and honestly, this turned out to be one of the smoothest and most hassle-free auto collision experiences I've ever had. I called to schedule an estimate and was greeted warmly by the receptionist upon arrival. My appraiser, Erika, met me right away. I pointed out the damaged areas, and she quickly inspected the truck, taking notes for a few minutes before stepping back inside. About five minutes later, she returned with a clear, detailed estimate. Since I was paying out of pocket (self-pay), I needed to cover a deposit--essentially the cost of the parts--before they could order them. Erika explained that once the parts arrived, I could drop the truck off, and the repair would take about four days. A few days later, I called to make the deposit over the phone using Zelle to avoid the credit card surcharge. The next day, Erika followed up to confirm the parts were ordered and expected to arrive by Friday or, at the latest, the following Monday. We scheduled the drop-off for that Monday, and true to their word, I had the truck back by Friday--fully repaired and looking great. Throughout the entire process, Erika kept me updated with a quick status call every few days, which made everything feel organized and stress-free. This was at one of only two Toyota Certified Collision Centers in the area, and the difference really showed. Professional, efficient, and communicative from start to finish--I'd highly recommend them to anyone needing bodywork on their Toyota.
