On Sat March 21st, I send in a note asking why my order has not shipped. The response: "According to our shipping policy, delivery typically takes between 3 to 8 business days depending on the destination. Your order is currently within the normal processing and delivery timeframe, so there is no cause for concern at this stage." After two weeks of insisting everything was fine; On the evening of April 1st, they finally come clean and say it's due to a fraud risk alert generated by shopify. They ask for additional personal information to verify my billing address and that I am the credit card holder. I comply with the requested information that night. Then, more nothingness. They took that data from me and as of posting on April 7th, I have still not been shipped. I would have had more respect for them if they just cancelled my order outright from the start. Is the whole thing just a scam??? I'd give my business elsewhere.

My family has been coming to this exchange since I was a child, and I want to be very clear that this review is not a reflection of the exchange itself or the many wonderful retailers that operate there. In fact, that is part of what makes this so upsetting. This place has long been part of our community and memories, which is why I believe ownership of The Exchange should seriously reconsider who they are choosing to represent and interact with the public on their behalf. On Wednesday afternoon, my mother simply questioned the integrity/authenticity of a piece of jewelry she had purchased just days prior, a completely reasonable question when making a significant purchase. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner's son became shockingly aggressive and hostile. According to multiple people present, as well as my mother herself, he repeatedly called her a "bitch" and a "cheap bitch," waved his hands in her face, and berated her publicly in front of customers and neighboring businesses. This is completely unacceptable behavior from anyone in a customer-facing environment. What made the situation even more disturbing was what happened afterward. Because my mother had previously used his cellphone to send me a photo of the jewelry she was purchasing (her phone had poor service), he later sent an apology text directly to me to relay to her. While that initially could have been viewed as a respectable attempt to de-escalate the situation, the message appeared to accidentally include transcribed text from a private conversation containing inappropriate and antisemitic commentary. As someone deeply involved in the Jewish community, I found that especially alarming and deeply offensive. When I questioned the nature of the transcribed text, he became equally aggressive and unhinged toward me as well. People make mistakes. Businesses have difficult interactions. But this crossed a line far beyond poor customer service and reflected a level of hostility and prejudice that deserves to be acknowledged publicly.
