It's beautiful at this shop. The scenery, the people, it's just a nice, peaceful place to enjoy a cup of coffee. I went for a cars and coffee event, so they may have had some specialty offers for that, but everything I had was delicious. The eggnog espresso was pretty eggnog forward, which I actually appreciate. A lot of eggnog coffee is just... coffee, so this was nice. Breakfast burrito was pressed in a panini press and that made it 10x better. It may not have anything fancy, but all in all, the cashiers and baristas were sweet and it was all tasty, I wouldn't mind coming back again. read more

Got the drip coffee and breakfast burrito, both were very good. The coffee barista and the person taking the order were very nice and greeted us when we walked in. The location is prime, the other coffee shops were a bit further out and this cafe is located on premises of a church, so when we came by on a Friday the parking was plentiful. The courtyard and inside seating were all very clean and welcoming. I would recommend it if you are in the area. read more

A delightful experience in Scottsdale! I wish our kiddos had been around because they've made it such a fun space to bring the littles while mom and dad caffienate! We ordered an iced cookie butter latte, and to be honest I was worried it would be overly sweet but they actually produced a very balanced latte and I was quite pleased! We really enjoyed just taking our pick between comfy patio furniture or tables with umbrellas, or indoor seating. The service was pretty quick and overall it was just a peaceful coffee shop to spend our morning at. read more

This spot is a hidden gem! It's nestled in a beautiful Paradise Valley neighborhood, and attached to a church that's worth checking out for its architecture. The staff is always very friendly and the drinks are tasty. They do the staples well, but always have a few specialty coffee drinks that kick things up a not. I think the main draw is the atmosphere though, it pulls in a good mix of families, remote workers, and friends catching up. The doors open up to give a sprawling patio vibe, and you have views of Camelback Mountain from the lawn out front. This is one of the spots that helps you feel like you're part of a community instead of being in a big city, check it out if you get a chance! read more

@awakencafe.az is a laid-back, beautiful spot to sip a drink while you reflect and the kids play. Located at Valley Presbyterian Church on McDowell, the cafe is open to the public. It's finally cooled down enough where the accordion glass walls are wide open and the indoor/outdoor space flows freely together. The kids really enjoyed their bagels and cream cheese, but I savored the breakfast burrito. A local caterer provides them. It was a good size and filled with eggs, potatoes, cheese and caramelized onions. Perfectly light but flavorful. The outdoor space is large with tons of seating, a grass yard, and climbing toys for toddlers. It was so peaceful. Definitely a spot to return to for reading, studying or work. Place within a church that had a great modern touch with plants in all corners. Felt like a great place to work from including patio in cooler months. I bet it's packed after church but the coffee tasted great. Best part was the food as they just had two things but croissant was huge and fresh from a 3rd party partner restaurant and eggs breakfast burrito was juicy and fresh not dry. I've been to Awaken Cafe a few times, and it's always a pleasant experience. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, good coffee and pastries from JL Patisserie, and wifi. It really is a pretty, peaceful space to get some work done or enjoy their huge patio during the beautiful weather. It is on church grounds but don't let that deter you. It can be a tad difficult to find after you park since it's in the center of the campus but there are signs to direct you and usually, people walking around you can ask. I definitely recommend checking them out. read more

I've been on mission for over a year now to visit and review every coffee shop in the valley, and I'm always excited to cross another one off my list! This one is on the valley Presbyterian campus. Signage made it pretty easy to find thankfully! The seating area is nice, and baristas were nice! Now to what I didn't like so much. I got a desert matcha (I think that's what it was called? It was on the summer menu). It was very very sweet and had a weird aftertaste. And I usually don't mind sweet and LOVE matcha. Just kinda gross, I wouldn't recommend it, but other people's coffees looked tasty! One other minor thing I didn't like is that they had two songs playing at the same time for some reason? Like they had a vacation bible school video playing with sound on but also had their own music playing at the same time? I would go crazy if I had to listen to two different songs playing at once the whole day, like couldn't they just play the VBS video OR the cafe-type music? Why both? Overall, I think I just ordered the wrong thing, if you attend church here or live nearby I could definitely see it being a good option. I am glad that I tried it but don't plan to try again with all of the other amazing coffee shops nearby! read more

Was looking to support local businesses and saw this place on yelp. I followed the map and it took me to a very nice church, on a Sunday with all the parishioners having breakfast outside. I thought there must be a mistake, but no, there is a little coffee shop inside the dining hall of the church. Everybody was friendly, dressed in their Sunday best while I was in an old T-shirt, baggy shorts and flipflops.
