Morgan H.

Got a honeycomb latte with almond milk and a dark roast coffee. Honeycomb latte was good and had good flavor. Dark roast coffee was just mediocre. Service was helpful. The shop is quaint and definitely a grab and go spot. Pastries looked yummy but didn't grab one.

Visiting from out of town and typically like to make sure I try as many local places as possible,…read morehowever, I enjoyed Sweet Dee's so much I had them twice for breakfast and took treats for later both days. Dirty Pistachio Chai, Hot Chicken Biscuit, Tiramisu Donut, and Ferrero Rocher Cannoli, and Dee's club were all great, but the Bacon Jam Sandwhich on a Panini and Pistachio Macarons shaped as cacti were the stars for my boyfriend and I. The only thing we tried that we didn't love was the Breakfast Sandwhich but not because it was of bad quality, but rather the flavors felt bland compared to the other menu items. Overall, the Sweet Dees team is super friendly, the interior is charming, and the baked goods are great quality. I highly recommend!

There's a few bar height seats inside, but they also have tables and chairs right outside. I've been here twice now, and I'm glad there's always parking in front of the shop. I'm even more glad that this place is literally 6 minutes from where I work! Hehe... The macarons here are delicious and such a great deal! At $3 a pop, I definitely know I'm NOT in California!! Haha!! I used to get special character ones from my favorite shop at the Irvine Spectrum mall for around $10-$12 each!!! I am glad to say I have left that behind, lol. The Madam Croque I had last time was sooo damn good!!! I'm going back for sure to try more of their sammies! If you have never gone, GO!!! You'll thank me later. TRUST!

After a wonderful meal next door at The Sicilian Butcher, our waiter suggested some dessert, but…read morelittle did I know they had a whole bakery connected to the restaurant. I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.

Love all the cake options too. Concept seems convenient where you can grab your individual tongs, tray and self-serve any and all the baked goods your heart desires. Prices are about standard for this economy ranging from $3-5. Nice that they'll heat the pastries up for you by request. They also offer a few coffee drink options. I'll be back for more the next time I pass by a shop!

This location is quite a large one with quite a bit of seating along with an organized line area to go upon arrival. I recently joined the loyalty program and tried something new this time. I was delighted by my visit. When I first walked in, I saw quite a number of customers deciding what to order while a number of them were already in line. There were also a number of employees working behind the registers helping customers. I walked around and looked at the self-serve section, the options behind the counter, and the menu. I decided to order a sourdough turkey melt. It came out nice and toasted and quite tasty. There was a wait until it was ready, but that was to be expected as it was weekend lunch-time. The employees were so helpful and walked me through how everything worked and how to come back and take advantage of special offers.
