The food I had was so good. I ordered the small rasta pasta and a 2 piece chicken chopped up. The gentleman was very patient with me as I tried to decide on sizes based of pricing. I took his advice and put "awesome sauce" on the chicken. Then I asked for some jerk sauce as well because I was looking for spice. The Rasta Pasta!!!!!!! Uggghhh delicious!!!!! I enjoyed the long slices of red pepper and carrots (still had a light crunch to it). The chicken was tasty my only complaint is that it was lukewarm. I like my food hot but this wasn't even regular hot inspite of it being on a warming tray. Well, my other CONS, which I totally understand because of the current economy; but the prices are steep in my opinion. Also, they only take CASH or CASHAPP. I got recommended from the staff to try their 2 styles of wings and they were saucy and extremely tasty. On the outside was crisp and nicely seasoned. In addition, I got the dirty rice which came with some slaw and it was good as well. However, once I started reaching towards the middle to bottom, I ate some sort of pepper that they added which I still couldn't find where it was from and that instantly killed the dish. It was extremely spicy and did not taste good. I just couldn't eat anymore. I wish I knew about it or they had told me. Awesome sauce is as their name says AWESOME. Some of the best Jamaican food I have ever had. Their portions are huge and the food is so fresh and delicious. We got the large jerk chicken dinner meal which came with their jerk chicken pasta and my favorite Mac and cheese. Their Mac and cheese is slightly sweet and so addictive. Whatever you get, make sure to get their Mac -- it is amazing. Four large pieces of jerk chicken and not too spicy. (2:30pm) However food looked and smelled good, I knew something would be satisfying, So I ordered a small. Mac n cheese, spinach and a spoon of salt fish, because I dont eat meat. I thought it was pricey. A small was $13.50 or 13. 96. My saltfish had the pepper stem so it had a little heat but it was good. My spinach was good also. However I dont like sweet mac n cheese. I can see if I had candied yams beside the mac n cheese, but not the case. Candied mac n cheese practically. I dont want diabetes, please hold the sugar. I was very pleased with not only the cleanliness of the establishment but the taste of the food. I'm a sucker for good Caribbean food & my tastebuds was not let down. The beef patty was fresh and soft as was the cocoa bread. I also took advantage of a fish sandwich with onions and peppers. The fried chicken was very flavorful I can't really tell you about the sauce because the chicken flavor was dominant. Best oxtails I've had from a restaurant. The beef pattie was also good quality the meat was seasoned well, and not minced. The MAC and Cheese however (the reason I wrote this review) was surprising! Surprising SWEET that is. It was super sweet. I've never heard of sweet Mac and cheese. I was ready too, it was nice and creamy good crusty top only to be met with sweet instead of savory. The food may be good, but the customer service leaves quite a lot to be desired. I placed an order with this restaurant on Uber Eats. Shortly after placing the order, someone from Awesome Sauce called to say that they were out of Mac and Cheese, and that there was a $20 order minimum to place an order using Uber Eats, and because they don't have Mac and Cheese, my order now doesn't meet the minimum. Mind you, there is no mention of this order minimum on Uber Eats. I tell the person fine, and I place another order--this time including plantain, festival, and salt fish fritters. Once again, someone--a different person-- calls to tell me that I can't have Saltfish fritters, because they are a breakfast menu item. When I explain, 1) That this will be the third time that I'm having to place my order, and 2) In order to meet their ridiculous minimum, I'm gonna have to order food that I really don't want, the person at Awesome Sauce replies, "I don't know." It seems to me that being that they were out of a popular menu item, they would have sent the remainder of my order, despite the minimum order requirement, seeing as how, I couldnt place an order to meet the minimum because they neglected to prepare enough food for the day.
