They let us bring pictures to tape to the boards and even provided free balloons they pop loudly, but it just adds to the excitement! They took tons of photos of our group and let us choose the playlist, plus there are great add-ons like throwing knives for an extra fee. Street parking is available. The bathroom is a single stall next door, which is a little awkward, but they have a key at the front. Super cute photo-op spots and such a fun way to spend an hour highly recommend!

They have a bulls eye board (which is a little worn and harder to land things on) and a tic tac toe board you can throw at, which is fun. There are a variety of axes and also knives for throwing, which was great! They provide gloves and there is also protective eyewear you can use. The smash room is bigger than I expected, and they provide glass bottles and old tech like printers and speakers for you to smash. You can pick out of an array of weapons like crowbars and baseball bats and golf clubs. Some of the baseball bats are pretty used up and broken. I also thought there'd be more PPE like coveralls or masks or something. There were helmets provided and gloves and eyewear. I was a little worried about the rest of the face. We did wear long sleeves and long pants, which was recommended and a good idea.

There isn't an axe throwing location in SF so when I found out Split The Wood is a mobile axe throwing company that can set up anytime at any venue, I immediately hired them for our happy hour during our team offsite and it was a hit! The Split The Wood team was very prompt and clear with communication and Derek answered all of my questions prior to booking them. Derek even had suggestions on where we can set this up. On the day of our event, they arrived early to set up the cage at the venue. They gave safety instructions and tips on how to throw an axe. Everything was super safe and enclosed in a cage so there were no accidents. Derek and his team are professional, on time, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I would definitely hire them again for another event! Again, they can set up at any venue. If there isn't space inside your venue, they offer a wheels package too!
