Really neat, clean and cozy space We ordered: Tom Yum Soup Thai Shrimp Chips Chicken Green Curry Shrimp Khao Soi Each of these were great but if I were to rank them, then the #1 spot would go to the Green Curry and then the peanut sauce that came with the chips I have eaten better Khao Soi, but this not to to take away from the fact that this too was good and extremely tastefully presented But the icing on the cake, was how well we were taken care of by Peta... I will definitely be coming back to this location

My friend and I were figuring out where to get Thai food during work lunch that was located in the middle for us. We decided to try out Thai Room Grand due to a solid rating with over a thousand reviews. We arrived at noon today and the restaurant was pretty quiet so I was expecting a quick lunch. It took about 30 minutes for our food to come out, which really cut into our lunch time. I ordered the pad see ew grand, my sister got the pad Thai grand, and my friend had a chicken curry dish. I think overall we thought the food was good but nothing that would differentiate it from other restaurants. I'm not sure if I would return anytime soon because nothing really stood out to me and the wait time was long.

This is the first time we went here and decided to dine in lunch on a Saturday at about 1:00 PM. This restaurant shares a split space with Gabby's Restaurant, and Thairoomgrand is the smaller of the two restaurants. There are three booths in the middle and a bunch of tables around the sides. Both restaurants have their own entrances. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full, and we were seated in one of the booths. I noticed that the table was kind of sticky. We ordered the following: 1 X Grand Appetizer Platter 1 X Penang Curry with Beef 1 X Red Curry with Beef 1 X Khao Soi with Chicken The presentation of all the dishes were well done, but the actual taste was just OK. The curries tasted very similar to each other, as did the Khao Soi. These dishes are supposed to be distinct in its own way, but they all tasted the same. Also, all the dishes had a strong under tone of coconut milk and were too sweet. I really wanted to like this place because it was supposed to be a solid Thai restaurant that is close by. However, the experience was disappointing with the sticky tables, and the lackluster food. At best, this restaurant is average and provides passable Thai food.

If you only eat at the Mississauga (Square One) location, this won't bother you. But if you've eaten at other locations, such as Etobicoke, you'll realize how expensive it is to dine here. While the prices across the locations are the same, you're getting much less for your buck. I purchased Khao Soi at both locations, and the Mississauga location (white bowl) had about 1/2 of the serving as the Etobicoke location (black bowl). They taste the same, but still! Something you won't be able to wrap your head around.

The first thing you see walking up to the restaurant is the big patio out front. Inside, it looks like a small dining room, but on the way to the washrooms, there's a wide corridor on the opposite end of the washrooms that opens into a large dining room. I really liked the colourful decor and different levels of seating. The servers were great with our table as well as with neighbouring tables. A customer at another table spilled their glass of water, and a server immediately got a mop to clean it up. Our server understood the specific way that we wanted our bill split, with drinks going on individual bills and splitting the cost of some dishes while keeping others separate. The food didn't take long to arrive. Everything was so flavourful and filling. The portions are a good size and at a very good price point compared to other restaurants. The only downside is that there is only paid street parking.

Samosas - note this is 2 orders! 1 order gets you 2 samosas only.

Review for Uber Eats experience. I tried the grand pad thai with chicken and shrimp, grand chicken wings and samosas. Grand Pad Thai $18.00 + $4 for chicken and shrimp. Stir-Fried Thai rice noodles with tamarind sauce, tofu, chives, beansprouts & wrapped in an egg crepe. Served with lime and roasted peanuts on the side. It was okay but kind of bland for me. Again, fine to satisfy your pad thai craving but not comparable to Pai Restaurant for example. I did ask for some hot chili which they were nice enough to provide. Grand's Chicken Wings $16.00 Serving of deep-fried chicken wings served with in-house Thai sweet and spicy sauce. Okay but not sure if it's worth the price. Pretty average. Samosa $5.25 Fried Malay pastries stuffed with vegetables and cheese. Served with in-house Thai plum sauce. Really disappointed, each order comes only with 2 small samosas when they use to give more back in the day at another location. I had 2 orders of this in my picture because they had a BOGO deal. Doesn't taste the same anymore and the plum sauce was really watered down. Not sure if this is at all locations, but these use to be my favourite and now I probably wouldn't recommend. Service was okay but staff aren't aware of promotions on Uber Eats if you call and ask them questions.

Delicious! The resto is actually kind of small, so it can fill up pretty fast. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 1 and I would say half of the tables were filled by the time we left. Also, it looked like there was one man working in the whole restaurant and somehow he is superman and managed this all on his own efficiently lol. He literally took all the orders, brought out the food, responded to water refills, answered the phone and took care of payments....all by himself lol. To like...7 tables lol. And we were never left waiting too long either. On to the food, I ordered the pad sew ew and spring rolls for the table. My friends got a pad thai and cashew nut chicken. Everything we ordered was so good and the portions were great! The pad sew ew noodles were a wider cut, but I enjoyed them. The beef was so good and I wonder what cut it was, because it tasted exactly like a steak lol. I appreciated that there were a ton of vegetables too. The spring rolls were also good. Nothing amazing but still good. Super hot too, be careful lol. I tried a bit of my friend's cashew nut chicken and it was bursting with flavour! Also the portion for this is gigantic. Defs a sharing dish or two meal thing. The one thing is, this does not come with rice and you have to order it separately. BRUH, it was $4 for rice. I'm literally bringing my own next time, if I get like a curry lmao. We always have white rice on deck at home. All in all, I really like this place and will make it part of the rotation.

4.5 Solid spot in Mississauga near SQ1. Was in the area and my friend suggested this place - I don't know why I was surprised to hear that the meat was halal, but yes the waiter confirmed - ordered a chicken khao soi and chicken pad Thai to share. Pad Thai was really flavourful and delicious. Khao Soi was awesome - really good flavours and nice presentation too. I'll definitely be back when in the area!

A new Thai place opened in the neighborhood of Square One. Finding parking can be tricky as it's located under a condo. It shares the location with another resto - Gabby. The interior decor is lovely and eye catching. Not many tables but a nice atmosphere. The menu had a lot of choices and the price is decent. However the taste and flavour weren't there. My partner didn't like his noodle soup. My green curry was a stir-fried which I thought it was going to be a broth. The worse part is that my steam rice was cold. They change it which came steaming hot. So the question is - why didn't they give me a hot steam rice in the first place when they weren't many tables that they were serving?!? I always wondered how come the kitchen is dysfunctional when there is so little customers ... how would they manage with a full house?? Verdict- definitely not going back. Nice decor though. No parking.

This restaurant is a great spot for Thai food! I visited with my girlfriends and we tried the PAPAYA SALAD, PANANG CURRY, and PAD SEE EW. Each dish was fantastic, and we found ourselves with a new favorite each time one arrived. The PAD SEE EW was especially delicious--I loved it so much that I brought a to-go order home for my fiancé. I would rate this place 10/10 for Thai food enthusiasts. Their alcoholic drinks also looked tasty and reasonably priced.

Thairoomgrand is at the intersection of Confederation pkwy and Arbutus way. I parked in front of starbucks, 30min free or paid meter. The entrance is around the corner on Arbutus. They have a nice street patio with toasty gas heaters. Inside, the restaurant is attractively lit and offers a romantic ambience (remember precovid date night?). I ordered the massaman curry for pick up. It took 15min and I was greeted at the door by a friendly hostess whom promptly handed the order over. The coconut curry was delicious, sweet, mildly spicy, and full of vegetables. It's about a liter of curry plus a pint of white rice. It's a perfect simple meal with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly. They are open for eating in. Though, on a nice evening you can sit outside and catch the sunset.

    Jennifer K.

First time visiting on a Tuesday just before 6pm and had a great time! Our server was super nice and checked up on us often and the food portions were huge and delicious. We got the Appetizer Platter, which comes with the crispy tofu, fried calamari, Thai spring rolls, satay skewers and shrimp chips for 24 dollars. It was great to try a mix of appetizers and its definitely enough to share with two other people. My boyfriend and I also shared the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp, which was delicious and well portioned, though slightly spicy in my opinion (ended up bringing home leftovers!). I also liked the overall vibes of the restaurant, from the decor to the music. Would definitely recommend checking out if you're craving Thai food!

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

We recently reminisced about going to Bao Sandwich Bar for lunch between interviews at the University of Waterloo. I had mentioned to him that it had a second location in Mississauga, roughly a fifteen-minute drive from our workplace. He said that when we were both in the office, he'd only want to go there for lunch with me. It's nice that he trusts my judgment when it comes to eateries. I also believe that he likes my company. A couple of Wednesdays ago, he asked what I was doing for lunch. I normally hit Treats nearby. He wasn't feeling it. I said that we could go here and provided some details, including its online menu and such. I also asked him if he had any meetings. I'm that type of a planner, down to the departure time. He was game. I said that we should leave at 11:15 am. The place opens at 11:30 am. He had a meeting at 1 pm. I wanted a leisurely, unrushed lunch. Done! I drove us over there. With my lead foot, it was more like thirteen minutes, without hitting any highway. Like the Bao place in Waterloo, this one is also located on a lower level of a plaza, with a tall building at the top of this hill. I parked in front of the eatery. We walked in. We were the first customers. It looks like the place kept some of the seating from the previous business that occupied the place. The upholstery looked shabby. Otherwise, the rest of the eatery was spruced up. I got a combo consisting of these items: - Crackle belly bao - Korean garlic chicken bao - Purple flower lemonade - Dynasty duck poutine My manager got the following items: - Dynasty duck bao - Thai yum pork bao - House salad - Thai tea I took a star away because I wasn't expecting my order to be $40! It was okay for the large portion of dynastic duck poutine that I got. It was rather steep. You won't see me eating here every day. I split the poutine with my manager, so it was okay. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. It didn't take long for our food to be ready. The woman who had taken our orders was nice to bring the food to our table. I have always loved the crackle belly bao. It was equally as delicious here as it was in Waterloo. The pork belly was tasty and perfectly seasoned. The bao was nice and malleable. The veggies provided a nice contrast. I loved it. I tried the Korean garlic chicken bao. It was heavenly. The sauce was spicy and garlicky. The chicken had a crispy exterior and was juicy inside. It's nice having another decent bao to call my favourite. The purple flower lemonade was delicious. I normally don't like sweet lemonade. This version had a touch of sweetness that I enjoyed. This drink's colour was also pretty to look at. My manager enjoyed his food. He oddly doesn't like green vegetables, so I saw him pick out the cilantro and green onions. He felt that the sauces were mixed up. His Thai yum pork bao wasn't spicy. The dynasty duck that he has had in the past was oddly spicy. We had a baseline of the dynasty duck poutine that wasn't spicy to compare. Even with the sauce mix-up, he still enjoyed everything. His side salad had a bit of a spice kick, so he was happy. I loved eating here. It was a nice, casual lunch with yummy food. I wish that it were cheaper. However, the quality was excellent that I'm okay shelling out for it as someone who likely won't be dropping by weekly. (67)

My friend paid with a debit card. Credit and debit cards are accepted. We headed over to a couple of comfy chairs nearby so I could finish my chimney treat from Eva's. She devoured her milk tea bun. She loved it. She thanked me for the recommendation. Looking back on our day together, I wish that I had bought some more buns from this place. I was too focused eating my ice cream cone. Next time! The flavours are on point. I went on a Thursday morning around 12pm and the place was so busy, all the seats in the dining area were already taken. It's also located in a nice little plaza with other restaurants to choose from like Z!Eats, Booster Juice, and Thai Express. I would say it's in a really good location where you could stroll around. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience here. I would say though that it is quite a bit expensive. My order of the tandoori chicken dumplings and steamed chicken dumplings, which came with 6 pieces each, total was $25.28.

Went to their grand opening thing today, got there early, few customers already, place was humming,…read moremusic loud, nice vibe, but....food came in 10 minutes, because buddy was hussling, but that was the problem, food came too fast, because the dumplings, were underdone, $5 for a combo, rice and chili chicken and noodles and chili chicken, but the portions were tiny, I mean just barely worth $5 so not even a good deal, the rice seems to be a mixture of lightly fried rice and white basmati, no flavor, the noodles were basically white, no wok fry, barely any sauce, no flavor, the chili chicken was fine, tasty, and tangy spicy, sweet spicy, but like I said barely any of it, everything was slopped into the container, and like I said barely any of anything. The dumplings came with a salad that was basically just cabbage, so crunchy, no taste, no dressing, at all, like squeeze some juice/dressing of any kind, so no attention to detail here, at all, the chili chicken was great though, just wish I didn't three orders for a satisfying lunch, literally 3 x $5 was necessary for one person, so, good luck,
