Axiom is a great place to buy and sell gold, silver, and coins. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient but beware this place gets busy. Midday is usually the best time to come. Men- you can get your ladies some fantastic jewelry here with out breaking the bank (wholesale prices- woo!). Ladies- this is a great place to get rid of jewelry from ex-boyfriends (ew!) and buy yourself something that doesn't remind you of the jerk. Collectors looking for that special coin to complete a set- Don can get it for you and at the best price in the finest condition. I go here to get the oddball stuff sold, like remnants of old jewelry and such. I metal detect as a hobby and turn up bits and pieces of jewelry. Never a complete gold chain that fits, but one can hope. Anyway, it's a small hobby of mine. I get a fair deal per gram there, and buy 1-5 ounces of silver very close to spot, or a few junk silver coins at 13x face value each trip. Even if I'm not turning anything in I look for the odd bar or round that I don't have. This place can't be beat for small items like that. Get over the way the place is arranged, don't be an impatient idiot, and you can be confident in dealing here. read more

Just wandered in looking for an unusual gift for my daughters. Don showed me some of his WWII "Peace" silver dollars. I bought some of those for $26 each. Don cleaned them up nice and shiny. I bought some older Morgan dollars for myself, kept the old patina on one of them. The others shined up real nice. Don gave me plastic protectors for all of them to keep them in good condition. The silver bloggers say I could have paid less, but hey, Don has to make a living right? I don't remember seeing any gold coins. This other old guy, (Master Key-keeper from Hogwarts?) bought a large silver plate or bar commemorating some special event. He was Very Happy with his super shiny purchase. I may go back for some Indian Head pennies and Buffalo nickels. Saturday afternoon he was open until 6pm. read more

I have been trying to purchase $100 face 90% silver (price $1225 and 40 silver eagles (price $18.60 ea.) from him for at least 2 months or more. He gave me a price on both. The total came to $1969.00. I have repeatedly called him and he was getting it together.I called 1 to 2 times a week, he rarely answered the phone and when he did he hemmed around said he had been busy. Don't think he was even in the store most of the time. Approximately a month ago he said i should have put a deposit down. He never told me before that it was necessary for a deposit until I had waited over a month, calling him every week. He then told me since I was a first time customer he would honer the price. Today he said he had the order ready but changed the price of the 90% silver (wanted 1285.00 and only 36 silver eagles. he wanted $2000.00 total for the order. Very disappointed and will not even go into his store again. Very poor way to do business. I would never leave a 50% deposit in his store, can't be trusted . I went on line and immediately found 40 silver eagles at $18.50 each, no tax, no shipping. Don't think I want to bother with 90% silver anymore. read more

Don is an honest man, and I've dealt with him for years. I take all of my metal detection finds to him and get a fair price for the jewerly I find. Yes he has weird hours, and th store looks old and in desrepair, but the quality of the merchadise is worth over looking anything wrong with this place. read more

Please do not even think about doing business there!! I went there on a recommendation from a coworker to buy silver for the first time as an investment and he must have seen me coming from a mile away. The store is a horrid mess and the clients he gets in there look like they just went through your trash in order to find the silver to sell. I could go on and on about this but I will get to the REAL reason I signed on here especially to warn you about this cheat! On a Friday at the end of his day he is "nice" enough to stay open for me to make a nearly $4,000 purchase. He did everything he could do to rush me out of that store. He was on his calculator with tape like he was giving me a receipt but unbeknown to me, I never received one. He told me that he doesn't charge taxes on the transaction but after taking it home to look at what I bought I realized that there was not one. I made a count of the silver and what I paid and discovered that he shorted me $316. The same amount that would be charged for taxes. I wanted to call but he doesn't open on the weekends. I went the the store the next Monday to let him know what I happened and to get a copy of the receipt and he told me that he "normally" writes down the transaction and gives it to the customer, has no receipt and (of course) can't remember the transaction!! This guy is a cheat AND a liar so please, please don't go there!! read more
