This project involved cement, cutting a dry rotted piece out of my patio cover and fence repair. . . .This is the funny part, I got bids from $225. to $2,200. - NO KIDDING! Rick's bid was at $650. - not the lowest but I knew he would show up and get the job done. I did call the $225. bid guy but he said he didn't know when he could come on over as 'things were crazy for him." Rick has been working around Escondido for years and does a good job. Bill was 100% helpful and worked with us around our solar provider issues. He gave us recommendations on how to improve things for the roof and got some things resolved like moving vents and installing new vents. The work went quickly and Bill would keep us informed of what to expect. Everything has held up perfectly and I would say this job was done exactly right. They don't make'em like Bill any more. He is old school in all the best possible ways. Most of all he does not bid out the jobs sending out a hack crew. He's on-site every day to check on his guys or he's up on the roof getting it done. His crew was all business btw. Those guys worked at a steady pace and took their time. And they kept working until break time if Bill went to grab something from the store or whatever. Vaccinated against COVID - and still wears a mask and distances from customers! Today Matt put…read moretogether a kitchen island (bought online and in a heavy box) for me, put together a large outdoor composter bin, replaced a patio light, replaced a lighted indoor switch, adjusted my outdoor gate, lopped off a few heavy tree branches, and even picked the ripe lemons off the tree up my back slope because I can't get up there. Matt can get so much done in a short amount of time that I feel I'm getting a bargain hiring him. He will return in a week to replace several indoor light switches, install the kitchen island, move up a very heavy wall mirror above my fireplace 3" higher, fix a kitchen handle, replace a kitchen ceiling light, and anything else I put on my "to do" list before then. Matt arrives on time and brings all the necessary tools and ladders. He's very respectful of the elderly, disabled, and veterans. So it's a real pleasure having Matt fix stuff around my house and I will continue to hire him in the future and recommend him to friends.
