My grilled chicken tacos were the best item I've eaten from Ay Jalisco. I usually go for a type of burrito or enchiladas which are great but these left me thinking about them days later. Our service was prompt & we had no complaints. I think Ay Jalisco has really stepped it up recently with the update to menus & just seems cleaner than it used to be. My son and I have made a tradition to celebrate his birthday at Ay Jalisco II. We did so this year as usual. His birthday is February 1st which happened to be one of the very cold days of this past winter. The food and service was excellent as usual but the restaurant heat was not on and the place was very cold. The customers, along with us, had to leave our coats on in order to keep warm. I was shocked to be charged $18.65 for a single large margarita--on a slow Friday night in Vero, no less. When two drinks cost more than two entire dinners, something is wrong. First, I'm vegan and I've been to many Mexican restaurants where they offer many vegetarian and vegan options. This one didn't. I got two spinach enchiladas which were just spinach in an enchilada wrap. They had no flavor. I received a cup of plain white rice and a small salad with no dressing. I was also served beans in broth with meat. I clearly told the server that I don't eat meat or dairy. There were 11 of us and we waited a long time for our food. Not once did the server check back to see if we wanted more chips and salsa or drink refills. I didn't finish my meal as it had no flavor. I'd never go back. My wife and I ate lunch at Ay Jalisco II three times during the past winter season. We enjoyed every single meal. Okay, let's get the business out of the way. Big Guy Comfort Factor is a 9. We sat in booths every time. Very roomy for me. On the third visit, the host sat us in a booth that was a bit tight, but we easily moved to a roomier booth. NABs? (Non-alcoholic beer). They always had an iced cold selection for me. Either Heineken Zero or Corona NA. So check off that box. I would have loved to try a Margarita, but controlled myself. The staff is very very friendly and professional. The bathroom was fine. The restaurant itself is pretty. Mexican themed booths, a nice looking bar, and a model train running along the ceiling. The first time there we had the Chicken and Steak Fajitas for two, plus an order of Guacamole. The Guac, which is my wife's favorite, was very very good. The fajitas was a huge serving and delicious. Luckily we had our cooler bag in the car (always remember your cooler bag!) and we took home enough leftovers for two meals. The second visit we both ordered off the lunch specials portion of the menu. We both had different burritos- very very good and reasonably priced. The third visit I had the beef taco salad and my wife had the fajita burrito. My salad was great, but I really wanted to steal her burrito. My only complaint is that I wanted to try the homemade tres leches, but I was always too full. Next year I'm going to get an appy and dessert. I want that tres leche. Oh, I forgot, ample parking. I'm going with 4 stars, although we're super close to 5 stars. I need to try the tacos and a margarita before I can give out that fifth star. read more

5 star experience. Honestly. I was astonished at how amazing the service was. I walk in, seated immediately. My food came out with out me even ordering! And it was EXACTLY what I wanted. Great customer service, lots of seating, about half the restaurant was full with people coming and going, food was amazing. Staff was very tentative, clean restroom and a changing pad set up incase you need to change baby. It was actually one that was a changing table station, with a cushioned pad that they added, not the ones hanging off the wall inside of the restroom. I thought that was very nice for anyone who needed it. My boyfriend and I did date night, and brought our baby in and they accommodated the stroller. Food came within 10 mins of ordering it, hot, fresh, large portions and tasted great. Bf got raspberry chipotle wings with a side of buffalo hot was good. Just the name of Ay Jalisco II gives me an inclination that there is an Ay Jalisco I. I wonder if there is an Ay Jalisco III or is there even an Ay Jalisco IV? Well, regardless of if there were more Ay Jaliscos or not, this review is for Ay Jalisco II. With items like buffalo wings and French fries on the menu, is it really fair to call it a Mexican restaurant? Well, it definitely is more geared towards Mexican food and I guess that they are just tryptophan offer a bit more variety. Anyway, I went with a burrito and it was okay. Nothing wonderful, but nothing too terrible either. Service was fine and the inside was festive enough. I don't see myself returning here. I am.a firm believer that life is far too short to accept mediocre Mexican food. I guess as an overall grade for this culinary experience would be three stars. read more

Refried beans and rice were pretty bland but the pulled pork tacos were quite tasty but I found them too chewy and greasy for my taste. I was able to cut the greasiness by adding all of the lime juice and filling them with lots of the onion and cilantro provided. I could only eat two out of the three tacos. The restaurant definitely has lots of Mexican ambiance and it was very esthetically pleasing. Although other reviews were mid range, I decided to give it a whirl. The place was quite busy, even prior to noon on a Saturday, so I thought it couldn't be that bad. I rarely eat out, but it definitely did not satisfy my palate. read more

The ambiance of this authentic Mexican restaurant sets the tone for a great time. My friend enjoyed her Cadillac Margarita, the presentation was in art form and she said it was delicious. This was our second visit here and we were not as impressed today as our first visit. We came for lunch and they were pretty busy, but sat us immediately. We asked for a table and they sat us at a four top turned long ways so we were very far away from each other at each end as a party of two. They brought us some complimentary chips and salsa but only one salsa and with the long table we really couldn't share so we had to ask for another one. We both ordered a Mexi Combo. I had a ground beef enchilada, ground beef burrito, and chili relleno with rice and beans. My wife had two ground beef tacos with curly fries. The food came pretty quickly and was tasty, but nothing special. However our server never came again to refill our drinks or check on us. Didn't see her again until it was time to pay. I was not disappointed their food was delicious, the buffalo Hot wings were really hot , you will either break out a sweat or start getting the hiccups but that's the way I expect all buffalo HOT wings to taste and they delivered, the meat was tender and ripped right off the bones. I would come back just for the wings. I also got a Jalisco Burrito with steak, and it was very good, loaded with fresh melted cheese on top. Ordered a New York strip medium rare, and a carne asada medium rare as well and they were both cooked perfectly. The table comes with free chips and salsa as a small appetizer. I gravitate to the chicken chimichanga, which is perfectly fried (just a light crisp that is easy to move a knife and fork through), well presented (guacamole on the side, not on top). Nice sides (the ubiquitous beans and rice, and great chips and salsa). Good location (publix next door to do some shopping on the way home). Normally, Ay Jalisco is my family's after-church lunch spot on Sunday. The service is normally fast, and the food is tasty and priced reasonably. Most recently, I went on a Friday with my sisters and their families, my dad, and my step mom, and the service was sub par. The waiter was not very attentive. Yes, they were crowded ("deep in the weeds" in restaurant industry speak), but the service could have been better. It took forever to get our drinks. One of my sisters and my step mom ordered margaritas, and they said they couldn't taste the alcohol in it. That's disappointing when you order a top-shelf margarita. I ordered a spinach quesadilla (one of my regularly-ordered menu items). The mushrooms were flavorful and fresh, had a nice consistency, and there was a generous portion of them on the quesadilla, which I was glad to see.
