My girlfriend went in to get a septum piercing not too long ago, the shop was small but looked decent. The overall piercing process took at least 5 minutes or less. Needless to say she came home crying, was crying for a good couple hours and the piercing was out after 3 hours of it being in. This is because the piercing was put so low it was touching her upper lip the whole time and only kept getting lower as she ate drank or talked, we know this was not a personal issue because I took her to a different shop the next day and they said it was far to low and wasn't even done correctly! We also mentioned the use of bactine spray, we were told do NOT use bactine spray. Not only did my girlfriend get a butchered piercing she was also lied to and given inaccurate information from the owner himself! We are both outraged and wouldn't recommend anybody go to this place for a piercing, stick to doing tattoos!! read more

I wanted to like this place because I need a place to go for my one off tattoos. My first experience here was with their piercer. She had no booth or anything, just a chair in the back of the shop. I went in for a septum piercing. She didn't measure the ring and when she put the ring through it was extremely tight and pulling. If I didn't say anything she would have had me walk out with it. She then had to take the ring out and put in a larger one. It was so painful I almost just left with nothing. Just the other day I thought I would give them a shot with a small wrist tattoo. Just lines no shading. Would have taken my regular 30 minutes. I called and I was given a shop min of $100 with a maybe $200.......so what is it?! He told me to text him and I sent him the photo cause I thought okay maybe that would get him to narrow it down....nope when I asked how much he said "$100 something". I'm sorry but there is 99 dollars in $100 something. I have several tattoos. I didn't want to show up and get scammed out of $100 after the work was done. If he would have taken the time to accurately quote me I would have been in the next day. Left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Rocky was highly recommended to me about a year & a half ago & booked my first appointment & have been back at least 7 more times. He is a master artist & everyone who sees my sleeves, leg & foot pieces are so impressed with the "realism" 3D look, details, colors & shadowing! We've been updating a couple older small tats I have too & they are beyond amazing & all are better than I ever expected! I'm addicted & Rocky is my artist forever until I run out of canvas! I saw an artist online from this shop and stalked their social media for months before making an appt 7 months out (I needed to save and this was for our anniversary) to get something meaningful, meanwhile I excitedly watched their social media still. I sent my reference photo what I wanted. I just have little flash tattoos so I'm not super well versed in the planning process for a large custom piece such as a half sleeve. But very familiar w after care since I do have 3 tattoos and get my eye brows tattooed every 6 months. Apparently (according to others) she should have been communicating w me about the design when it got closer. I didn't see anything til I drove 2 hours there the day of. She changed the flowers because she didn't want to copy. Fair. But I'm not a person to make hasty decisions and could have looked up some additional material to supply had I known. She picked some flowers that were lemon flowers and they looked alright. So I asked her if they would have the general style and look (realism) as the photo I provided. She assured me yes it would. It definitely does not. I cry everyday looking at it. It's a half sleeve so I can't not see it. The line work is shaky asf. The shading has faded drastically. The flowers look childlike. Definitely not realistic like I wanted. I paid $840. Not only did I fail myself, but I also failed my partner since he got it too and I spent 70% of one whole paycheck on this and I don't feel it's worth that honestly. She needs a lot more practice and comes off like she's a prodigy online. Please be humble. If you can't do a certain style, say so. We trust you as artists and these are permanent on our bodies. Now I have to resave to have someone fix this and I didn't budget for that. Reference photo included in this slide. Edit: I talked to the artist and owner and they're basically gaslighting me about the condition of the work. The owner went on to write 3 paragraphs about his awards, conventions etc and saying he had oral surgery and now had to come in to "deal with me" (I had 7 oral surgeries also in the last few months btw) as if I put this tattoo on myself and making it about himself. I talked to several artists who said it had good bones but if I didn't like the flowers, they can only add not take away. They would have to darken areas like the leaves but it wouldn't have that high contrast look good tattoos have. There is not much to be done about the flowers if I don't like them except to remove them. I paid 840 for the tattoo and my consult said I would need 4 sessions at 200 a piece so 800 to remove and then who knows how much to re work the line work and shading and fill in the lasered spots w something new. This just turned into a 2500-3000 sleeve. The customer service and professionalism is seriously lacking. Instead of taking everything personally, set aside pride and ego to learn new things and improve. This comes from an artist (20 years) of a different medium. I'm really disappointed. read more

Called, impossible to hear the receptionist, (find out after coming inside that it's a large fan because their a/c sucks), shop minimum is $80. Reasonable, right? I wanted to get a small tattoo about an inch big, a pineapple, on my ankle. Black and white, lines not much shading. Maybe take an artist 15 minutes to trace. Tells me he is going to charge me $120 after I fill out paperwork and wait for 15 minutes. Was looking to get more work done but wanted to start with something small since I'm changing artists. Whenever I have any creative ideas (in this case, tattoo designs), I need to see it come to fruition may it be out of impulsive decision or something I've spent a lot of thought. So when I had an idea to get a tattoo of three roses to represent my family and a compass-watch with an arrow to symbolize direction in life and its elements, I had to get it done right away. It's only been about a week since my birthday anyway, I was like why not give myself another present Lol So I did a quick search online to find someone skilled and available soonest possible and I happened on AZ Ink. I sent all my design references and drafts via email and I was recommended to talk to Shane. Though I wasn't familiar at that time of Shane's work, what sold me to go through with him is his eagerness and genuine interest to work on my concept and ideas. He answered my questions. Explained to me point by point on how we were going to do things. On the day of my appointment, he was readily present when I got to the shop. (I have past experiences wherein I had to sit and wait over an hour just to be accommodated..which I don't usually mind as long as I know it's worth the wait. However, it's good, once in awhile, when you can actually stay on schedule. They say time is gold after all lol... Shane was professional and patient. I had some requests to redo things and he did not display any kind of exasperation but worked with me..and I always appreciate that in people, especially when it comes to working on something permanent. Shane was focused throughout the process...and the end result is truly a work of art! He placed his own design on the compass-watch which looks great. The roses he did stood out awesome! Shading is solid and had soft blends to bring the realism out of the design... Good job! I love looking at the work he did and truly appreciate it... I personally had a great experience here. Was in the area on vacation and decided to spontaneously get a tattoo since they do walk ins. Very clean shop and I had the pleasure of having Taylor work on me. She is amazing and super talented. I came with two of me other friends and unfortunately one of my friends didn't exactly get what him and the artist agreed upon. I forget the artists name but me friend said he was rushing it and it just didn't turn out well. Very poor business as rocky is a talented artist but a very poor business and very unprofessional was going to get a complete back piece and was not comfortable with out seeing a design stencil before the appointment not trying to design the day of and rest the appointment and was hopeing we were on the right track then he did get sick on the day of my appointment and had to cancel very understandable and haven't heard nothing for a week and a half I had to make a decision to go a different direction and I did pay a deposit and did ask for it back. So the shop owner rocky , let me just start by saying he's really rude to his workers they all look like they hate him , but that's none of my business . I went to get my nipples pierced and the girl pierced my actual Ariola so one of my nipples looks fine and the other is literally going through my ariola skin . They got infected so I had the bars changed out at Urban Art tattoo which I highly recommend. They really take care of you there . Anyways I went back for a moon tattoo for "Friday the 13th" deals and the girl who tatted me messed up my moon . Spots missing out of it and everything. I took my friend there because I knew they wouldn't ID me (I lost my ID) and she really wanted a septum so I said screw it let's go , it was a different person piercing and they made her septum crooked then the rocky owner dude convinced my friend to get tatted and he was so heavy handed on her , there is chunks missing and it looks like it even got a little infection, i took my friend to my guys at urban art to take a look and they are going to fix it for her once it's healed . They gave her cleaning stuff and walked her through it all and made her feel a lot better , plus they gave it to her for free , my poor friends first tattoo was a mess . Let's just say I've gotten three tattoos from this place a few years ago and I have plans on getting every one of them removed soon.

I got my second tattoo on Friday the 13th by Hailie and it was really great. I gave them a hard time because my tattoo was a little bigger than the deal. But it was totally worth it. I had a hard time taking care of my tattoo and it faded it a little bit. I went in today to get it touched up and Hailie was there again! I asked her if I can get it fixed and she said she'd do it and instead of fixing the thin lines, she went over the whole tattoo to make it thicker and better. She called herself a perfectionist which I love because I felt like I was being taken care of really well! I will definitely get more of my tattoos done by her because it was a great experience with a great artist! I really owe her one because my tattoo was at least a $100 tattoo that she did for me on Friday the 13th as well as redoing the whole thing when I needed it done. My gf got a piercing on Friday the 13th by someone's apprentice as well and she didn't really like the placement so Hailie, being the great artist she is, did her piercing again in a perfect spot for free too! I'm normally not one to write negative reviews but I'm doing it in hopes that I can help people that are gonna do what I did and just walk in and not really look at portfolios. I went in on 4/20 to get a finger tattoo and the staff were all really nice and helpful. I didn't bother to remember the lady's name that tattooed me because I'm not going back. She put the outline on my finger and the lines were really messed up so she went over it with a Sharpie. She was really quick and when she was done she "cleaned" it off with a basically dry towel and sent me on my way, didn't cover it or anything. When I walked out of the shop I looked at it in the sun light and started noticing a lot of things I didn't like about it. Not even 5 minutes after I left I walked back in and spoke with her and asked if she would be able to make the 3 little dots on the top darker and bigger. Her excuse was that it's gonna fade and I'll have to get it touched up anyway. Well it hasn't even been two weeks since I got my tattoo and the 3 dots on the top are basically GONE. I do understand that tattoos on the fingers do fade because of how they rub together and I'm constantly washing my hands, etc. I'm not a tattoo artist but to me it makes sense that you would want to deposit the ink as deep and dark as you can so this doesn't happen, or doesn't happen as fast. Despite my best efforts to take care of my tattoo, it looks really bad. In no way am I trying to be rude but my experience was not the best and I'm very sad and disappointed. With all this being said, make sure you look at the artists work before you just go ahead and get a tattoo, and speak up if you don't like something!! It should not have been a problem for her to darken 3 little dots. Hope this helps some of you. read more

When I first came for my dermal I was sort of nervous cuz I hate needles period!! But I have lots of tattoos so im weird I know. I have had 2 monroe piercings before - the first one I got in San Jose, CA. which got infected. So when I moved here to AZ I got another monroe piercing but on the other side. Unfortunately I had to remove it since I started working for a Restaurant called Oregano's. The hole quickly closed within less than an hour. So I thought getting a dermal would be nice! Allen was the one who pierced me and he was very informative about the whole process and I felt very comfortable the whole time! He did an amazing job that's all I can say..so now im back to replace my dermal stud but oh boy did I get more than that. I actually got my nose pierced by Bri ( Allen's wife ) and she was amazing as well. She gave me advice on how it will look on my facial features and so I wasn't going to turn her down haha. Then she mentioned that if I get a small tattoo they will give me a deal..so I said why not!! Chandler tattooed my thigh and he did more than an amazing job! Everyone here is phenomenal! I love their humor and it's always exciting to see them work as a family. Rocky on the other hand is like a bursting ball full of energy haha I love it! I am the same way which makes it fun to be around! Then there's Jason who printed out the picture I want and transferred it on paper. Thanks to all of you in AZ ink for a painful fun night!!! Had a really bad experience with a tattoo artist at this location,would not recommend. Guy seemed really chill and was willing to help me fix a tatto that needed to be reoutlined (from a different tattoo artist/not from the same shop). Booked an appointment(July 28th,2018)was really excited to get it 'fixed' showed up at AZ ink,while the rework was happening I had asked him to add color to a certain area in the tattoo. First,he seemed like didnt want to (cause I had not previously asked) after he seemed fine and worked color into that part. He seemed in a hurry and could careless about the situation.I preceded to do all the after care instructions thoroughly,and for some reason my tattoo healed so horrible and scarred so bad!!!!! I have to know get the entire tattoo covered up all together cause the colored in part healed so badly. And whenever I touch it,it still feels so tender and sore. Not sure what happened but I will never go back to this shop! (Waited a long time to do this review cause I wanted to see how the tattoo healed/looked) read more
