I was told I could change my septum piercing after two months. When I went back to the shop to get it changed the piercer had an attitude. The front desk staff aren't friendly either. The ring that was placed was too tight and the insertion was painful. I wanted to ask the piercer to put a different one in but I was so put off by his attitude I left immediately. I was not able to put in another ring myself, so I went to a different piercing shop the next day and the hole had already closed. They told me it was not fully healed and I should have waited three months to change it. Now I have to wait a month to get pierced again. I am incredibly frustrated and will not be coming back or recommending Rad a Tat to anyone. read more

I feel compelled to write a review in every platform as piercings are permanent and what that lady with dreads did to me today was negligence, unprofessional, and not up to standards with the health department or CDC. First off she was very unpleasant to work with. Never introduced her name. I went in for tragus piercing, she showed me the case witb the upgraded studs. Turned the lights on and left. I had to call her back to ask questions. She then grabs the studs with her bare hands, drops one on the ground. Stated they sterilize the studs before use. I went in for my piercing and she used the WRONG stud. Her response for fucking up my ear was, i was confused on which one you wanted since you looked at a few. I looked at one other stud. How are u confused on what my choice was???? This is your fucken job! . She basically used the stud that she dropped on the ground and wanted to Get rid of it. Their standard of care is not up to CDC GUIDELINES. i work in medical and anything that is sterile comes in blue sterile pouches with arrows that change color indicating it is sterile. Did she just wipe it down with alcohol???? I picked a spot that was ideal for the stud I wanted. Since she took it upon herself to decide what i wanted, the stud she chose for me is not centered. AWFUL SERVICE, and UNPROFESSIONAL AND DEFINITELY NO CLEANINESS AT THIS PLACE!! And she didnt even go over aftercare instructions with me. Im mad i tipped her. -10 stars and now im going to have to go somewhere else, remove this awful job done and fucken go thru pain again. Not to mention spend more money! -10 STARS!! read more

Just got my bellybutton pierced here with a friend over the past weekend. There was an apprentice in the shop who asked if my friend and I would be ok with her practicing on us for a discounted rate (prices are already amazing here!!!) so we agreed! Her attitude was great (as was the rest of the staff there that day) and she was very friendly. Unfortunately she did have to re-pierce my belly because something had slipped BUT we did agree to let an apprentice do our appointment AND she said my piercing would be free because of the mistake, no harm no foul. Workers were nice, no wait, and appointment was easy to book, but the piercer botched my conch piercing so badly that the back of the earring touches my head. Obviously not much that can be done about that once the earring is in your ear, but theres no way I'll be able to put a hoop in it or frankly any kind of jewlery aside from the microscopic stud that they use as starting jewelry. Healing has been miserable since as well because of how much cartilage the piercing passes through due to the wild angle. I have a conch piercing on my other ear that was done at another shop and it was by far the easiest piercing I've dealt with of the 12 I have, so I was pretty shocked and dissapointed by this outcome. It took me a year to post this review, so I want you as the potential customer to know I put thought into this before posting. I came to Rad-a-tat as a woman looking to have some new found artistic self expression, after years of a controlling - abusive relationship. I went to Mario for a few pieces, including a cover up (as I wanted someone I felt comfortable with). Mario designed a piece for my arm and trusting him, trusted it would come out amazing. The piece came out horrible quality, and crooked on my arm. Surprisingly, he didn't care to notice or saying anything or even offer suggestions - keep in mind, by this point he's already done 3 other smaller tattoos. For Mario, I was a bankroll - a woman down on her luck, getting tattoos and he took advantage. I complained to him when I noticed the error right away and he said nothing is wrong with it. I'm heart broken because it just can't be fixed at this point. I took time to post this because all in all, I should've done my research. I should've not openly trusted - but I did. For that, this responsibility is on me. And I hope you, potential customer, can know that I'm not coming after them as a business or Mario personally - I just know that I have to speak out. Okay first I'm going to start off by saying I'm shocked that reviews for this place is almost 5 stars. Also why is it that the only reviews that get a response are the good ones? Ok so here we go..I recently had something difficult happen in my family & decided that I wanted to go get THREE small tattoos. My childs birth flower w her name written in cursive as the stem, I wanted a initial T on my ring finger & a small butterfly on my wrist. The reason why I decided to do 3 is bc the minimum was $50 no matter what size the tattoo is & the Initial on my finger would be tiny so why not add a nickel size butterfly to get my $ worth. So I Googled some places that would take walk ins since it was late in the day. I called & talked to man at the front desk. He asked me what I wanted to get done & to send a couple reference photos. I did that. He quoted me $80 for the birthflower&name & $50-60 for the small butterfly & inital on my finger. Told me that he needed to pay $20 on the phone non refundable for incase of a no show but it would be added to the cost of my tattoos.I totally get as a hairstylist I do the same. So I get there & the place is clean & looks cool. I meet my artist MARKOZ, he seemed annoyed from the jump. So he shows me what he drew up for me and the flower was just the reference photo I sent when I told him I wanted more detail to it, shading, a couple leaves on the stem but he shut me down. I'm a very anxious person so when someone talks to me a certain way I start to just shut down and agree w everything (that's not his fault) but then I couldn't decided between 2 spots to put it & how big & when I asked him for his advice he told me idk it's yours. Every tattoo artist I've ever met has always put in their input & advice on what looks good. Not Markoz. He did that everytime I asked him what he thought.So the second tat was the initial I wanted on my finger which they didn't want to do bc it will fade but idc I would get it touched up. I know how it works. So not only did I feel forced to get this tattoo in a different spot it ended up looking nothing like I wanted. It's a cursive T w a little heart next to it on my wrist & if u aren't looking at it up close it looks like it says "To". I wanted it on my ring finger. But once again I really wanted to get this as a surprise for my fiance while he is is the hospital so I still wanted it. So now about the 3rd small butterfly tat I wanted. Markoz told me he didn't know anything about a butterfly tattoo bc I didn't send a reference pic of the butterfly. Ok... so? I was quoted for it & the receptionist knew about it. But everytime I tried to bring up if we could do it anyways his body language & attitude immediately just told myself to forget it I'll get it another time. I'm great at reading ppl & I could tell he was annoyed that he had to do some stupid girly cliché tattoos. I'm sorry but if you don't want to do certain types of tattoos then don't take the client or maybe choose a different career bc I'm pretty sure if it was a dif tat that you liked u would put all types of input into it & be happy to do it. I looked at his IG & he has such nice detailed work & HE HAD A FEW BIRTH FLOWER TATTOOS W A CURSIVE NAMES IN THE STEM just like what I wanted & these had so much detail in it. I cried when I saw this & looked at mine. Bc why did he act like he knew nothing about this type of tattoo when hes done multiples? I know mine can be fixed but it's the fact that it shouldn't have to be. It's not ugly but it's so plain. All 3 of the tats I wanted were meaningful to me. The flower is for my 3yo who we both almost died during labor,the initial on my finger that ended up being on my wrist for my sick fiance & the butterfly for my best friend who is deceased. This meant a lot to me & I was so excited to finally be able to get them done. I really wish he would've not taken me as a client for a quick $ instead of ruining a special experience.Many ppl go to get tats that are meaningful & if you're an artist u should keep that in mind. I have never had a artist who didnt make sure I had a good experience.. My total ended up being what I was quoted $130 but that was for 3 tats. I only got 2. Which whatever I know there's a limit. But I was told my deposit of $20 was towards that but it didn't go towards anything. No way would u look at these two tattoos & think they cost $130. & now I'm going to have to go get the initial covered hopefully w a butterfly & then pay someone else to put the initial on my finger & fix the flower. I think something should be done to fix this. I have all my friends & family telling me to post it on all my social platforms & I might have to. I can tell he is a good artist & maybe he was just having a bad day but I hope he reads this and feels bad about ruining a special moment. read more

I've come here for a few piercings and a tattoo. After today, I will never be back. Two of the last three times have been horrible. The front desk lady/check in lady has been extremely rude to me. Im always polite and kind but it is not reciprocated. Shes the same one that was rude last time and I shouldve not went back. The piercer seems really miserable and comes across as though he doesnt want the business...sighing and shaking his head whenever he saw a new customer had walked in. I dont need to feel like a burden. I have no problem driving a couple miles further for good (or even average) customer service. read more

Got a nostril piercing here a year ago, discussing that I'd want to put a ring in and that determined the placement of the piercing. Went with what was suggested by the piercer and have been waiting to switch out the jewelry. Came in about a month ago to change the jewelry and was told it was too small and would not work. Was given recommendations on what to try and I decided I would come back a month or so later. Fast forward to today, going to get a second opinion from another shop to find that the jewelry in fact was actually bigger than what I would need, as well as the piercing being done incorrectly and way too low on my nostril for the ring. When initially deciding the placement of my piercing, it was marked and I suggested we go a little higher as it seemed off but the piercer assured me it would work better where she placed it, so I went with her professional opinion. I was able to find a solution at reputable shop in downtown Phoenix, but I'm not able to fix what was done at rad- a- tat. I advise you to research more and make sure you have an experienced piercer, and don't hesitate to spend a bit more money for quality work. read more

I went in with 2 other friends and we all got different piercings. Pricing is good but I thought it was strange that they didn't let us pick out our jewelry before piercing us. When we were all done no one went over any kind of after care/ cleaning instructions for nose or bellybutton piercings and did not offer the saline spray we had to ask for it. If we didn't have other friends with piercings we wouldn't have known how to take care of our piercings and most likely would get infected. I would say don't come here if this is your first piercing as we did not feel like our comfort was taken into much consideration. I came in for a double conch piercing and was really nervous because my pain tolerance is close to none, but Mike really helped calm me down and reassured me that he'd do it fast. I have several piercings all from a different piercing place , but since I live very far from all of them I decided I would give this place a try. At first on the phone they were very nice and answered all of my questions, but in person I was very friendly and tried making conversation but the energy they gave back was very off-putting and rude... especially the man who pierced me. I got my ears pierced (2 piercings on each lobe) which should be simple enough for trained piercers. But unfortunately they came out crooked and in a strange spot on my ears and instead of using flat back styled piercings or ones with balls on the end with longer bars, they used butterfly backed piercing on my brand new fresh piercing?? They are on super tight and since the piercing is new and inflamed it very painful and red, they keep getting caught in my hair and bedding and anything else that gets near the ear piercings, and I can't even switch them out myself. I also have a healed belly button piercing and I wanted a new piece of jewelry there because the bar on mine is just a bit too long, as I'm asking him questions my piercer acts like he has no idea what I'm talking about and offers me no solutions, I know you can get smaller or larger bars but he just kept saying "you're always gonna see the bar"... yes I know I just want a shorter one! I've never had issues with my piercings from other places so this experience was not worth a shorter drive. I would recommend doing more research and not coming here for piercings specifically, if they mess up basic ear piercings they shouldn't be doing them at all. read more
