I purchased a Hiland Hammered Bronze Tall Patio Heater about 3 years ago from Tractor Supply at a great price. It was intended as a back up to a much older patio heater that over time, didn't want to work well. It sat in the box in the backyard shed until about a week ago. I took the parts out of the box and while the construction of the unit went well, once together I could not get the "head" to remain lit since each time I let lose of the push in knob, the unit shut off. I changed out the tank, used the one on the grill and used the patio heater tank on the grill...both tanks worked as expected but the problem with the patio heater continued. I looked on line and found a number suggested fixes, took the head apart and followed several of the suggestions to no avail. Frustrated, I looked up the address of AZ Patio Heaters, found they were in Tolleson, about 35 miles way from my home, packed up the defective head with the intent of purchasing a replacement since I wasn't sure given the age of my unit that any replacement part would be the right one. Arriving, Danny Price, VP of Operations, greeted me and after I advised him of the problem, he immediately he went to work investigating what could be causing the problem. In the end, I walked out with a working heater head and returning home, I reinstalled it on the post lit lit up as expected!! Purchased 30x30 square fite pit, has 1 yr warranty, after 3 months its rusting all around the cabinet and legs, and bolts, inferior materials and paint. This is an outdoor firepit yet its rusting aft 3 months and the cover fell apart rapidly within 3 months. I have 2 calls and 10 emails into the warranty and order dept, but its probably tbe same guy that answers the phone and put me on the merry-go-round. This company will not honor the warranty. My heater wouldn't stay lit so I took it in hoping to get a new thermocouple installed. I described the problem and the Salesman explained it was just the anti-tip switch, showed me how to replace it and then gave me one so I could do it myself. Saved me $30 in labor! I had another one with different problems and he told me how to take care of that too. Saved another $30! We received an outdoor fire pit as a gift. Two of the four bracket posts came out of the box badly mangled. When I spoke to customer service I was told that the replacement posts they had were in worse condition than the ones I had. Clearly there is a problem with the way the product is packed for shipping that leaves these pieces vulnerable to damage in the shipping process but the representative placed the blame on the shippers. AZ has been bumped up to 2 1/2 stars. The quartz tube arrived safely. It was not chipped, but once again there was no seat ring enclosed. Luckily, I ordered one separately. My heater is now working. Advice to anyone else who has to replace their tube through AZ: 1) Order the seat ring along with the tube. Even though the ad specifically says the ring is included, it is not. Just save yourself the hassle from the start and spend the extra $8. 2) If the tube arrives chipped, don't bother to call AZ and try to get a return label. It won't happen. Save yourself the time and trouble and simply send it back at your own cost. It's $15 through UPS. 3) No matter how frustrated you get, don't waste your time looking for the quartz tube someplace else. All other places will price gouge you because they know how terrible AZ is and they think they can get away with it. One place is charging $220 for the replacement tubes that cost $65 through AZ. Just suck it up and deal with AZ. 4) Lastly, if you haven't bought one of the AZ Patio Heaters, they may look cool, but they are far more trouble than they're worth. Pay a little more for another brand after researching their customer service. It will be worth it in the long run. read more

I purchased a table top glass tube heater from these guys in 2015. It worked fine--until it didn't. So off to tech support hell...which turned out to be a great experience! After a few attempts at replacing parts, it was determined that the regulator was the problem. During that call with support they offered to replace the entire burn mechanism and fedex'd the part to me. With in 10 minutes the heater was working better than ever. There are getting to be fewer service providers(in any field) that are willing to work through a problem and then make it right in the end. Great company with great service. I have an glass tube heater. I initially started a diagnosis issue with support via email. I got a response very quickly. I tried what they suggested and it did not work. I did determine it was the pilot feed tube. I ordered on but it ended up being the wrong fitting. Brian was determined to find the right part to help me get it working. He was unable to find the part for my heater. He instead sold be and entire burner replacement for a price that makes it right. It wasn't just an upsell either. Not only does it get my heater working, but it upgrades me so that if I need parts in the future, I will not have an issue with them not fitting, or unavailable. It is by far the best customer service I have had in the past 5 years. In TN we have plenty of days and evenings all winter long you can sit outside as long as you have a great heater like this one. read more

Called Home Depot, they put me on hold and contacted AZ Patio Heaters... When they came back on they said to contact the warranty department at AZ. My heater was broken. Rather than taking it in for service we were told how to solve the problem. I just love when companies will help you out! (Seems bugs like some of the tiny parts that block the gas - our problem has been solved and we know what to look for after another summer in storage). I also saw him in a YouTube video. I bought a patio heater as a housewarming gift for my son and daughter in law. it never worked. I called their help line. after trying some tricks to get it working, we decided we had a dud. The gentleman said that was fine, he would send me an assembly to replace the defective one. They did that. I installed it, problem solved. until tonight (2 Months later) I received a FedEx bill for $32.96. Interesting how they are charging me duty and taxes to replace a defective part on their brand new product. totally unfair. Purchased a table top heater with glass tube which worked great for about a dozen uses. Over the summer, I stored the unit in my garage and brought it out for use over the holidays. The unit would not "fire up" so I contacted the service department and they recommended a couple of "fixes" but still no flame. I live locally so I asked if their service department could take a look if I dropped off the unit. Dave (service technician) said he would take a look and discovered that a spider nest was blocking the gas line. Once the small nest was removed, the unit worked like new again. The unit was still under warranty but I expected to pay for his labor because the problem was not a parts failure. Wow. What an amazing customer experience. I saw a part I needed online and realized AZ Patio heaters was local to me. To ensure I got the right part for a repair, I drove to the show room with my broken part. The gentleman who helped me, took the part in the back, troubleshot it and discovered I only needed an igniter (different than replacing a larger component). He replaced the igniter, tested it and rung me up. However since there computer was down, he couldn't charge my card and I didn't have cash. Rather than send me to the ATM, he said "Merry Christmas, come back someday." I protested a bit, but went on my way. You just don't get customer service like this often. I'll be back! read more

A couple years ago I received a small patio heater as a gift. It worked great on my balcony the last 2 winters but this year refused to light. I looked up the website listed on the heater and saw that I live very close to the manufacturer, AZ Patio Heaters. After calling to confirm they do repairs, I brought my heater in last Friday to be fixed. Yesterday (Wednesday) I got a call that my heater was ready for pickup. Turns out my heater only needed a cleaning and no new parts! The repair guy even explained how to clean it so I should be able to handle it myself next year. The $35 cost for cleaning was reasonable, since it would have cost around $80 to replace the heater entirely. The people at AZ Patio Heaters were very helpful, and although they were busy, I didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy anything new. They had some really pretty fire pits that I would have been interested in if I didn't live in an apartment! read more

I don't even know where to start telling everyone how wonderful the experience with this company was. I bought my husband a small table top heater for Christmas. New Year's Day we got it out and started it. It started fine but kept going out. So the following business day he called the tech support group. They walked him through multiple steps trying to see what the problem might be. After a few calls and much effort on the various technicians part they decided to come to us and fix it. Now we live south of Queen Creek. AZ. They are located in Peoria, AZ. That is approximately 90 miles one way. I have to say we are amazed that they came out to help us. My pyramid heater arrived with a broken tube. I sent them a photo and they immediately put another tube in the mail without charge. When I went to put the tube in I realized I must have thrown the knob away with the packaging. I called to buy a new one, and they dropped it in the mail.. again without charge. Terrible support!!! I purchased a burner unit for my patio heater and in less than a year it wouldn't ignite. I contacted Az Patio Heaters and they sent me several emails with cleaning and testing instructions. After running all of their test and cleaning the unit, it still wouldn't ignite. I requested that they send me a replacement under warranty. Chandler said he would send out a replacement unit the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and I called to find out the status of the shipment and was asked what control I needed. I then emailed Chandler the model and since we had tested the ATM valve and it didn't work I also requested a replacement ATM valve. I heard nothing back from him so I tried to call to get a status and I couldn't get him to answer the phone. I then asked for someone that was in charge and Danny picked up the phone He then informed me that their controls don't fail in a year. He said I could bring the control to their facility in Tollesin, a three hour drive, and they would check it out. They would not cover replacement under the warranty. I didn"t feel like driving to Tollesin so I will purchase the control on Amazon Not the kind f company I would recommend doing business with. read more

Me and my wife purchased a heater through them. When it finally came (a week late) we were missing a key part, one of the legs. I followed the instructions on the manual and contacted the warranty department. After 8 calls and 2 days I finally was able to speak with someone. They made me jump through hoops to prove my purchase. Then said they would send me a email with instructions on what to do further with in the next few mins. 3 days later still nothing. I then email them back again 3 more times then finally I get the email. I followed the instructions and provided them with an item disruption and the part number of the missing part from their manual. After another 2 weeks of waiting we finally get the part! Oh wait it was the wrong part!!!!! How they got that one wrong was beyond me! I have been calling and Emailing them Now for another 2 weeks with zero answer after emails everyday! So I decided to go to their website and buy the replacement part myself so my wife can enjoy her heater. That's if that part I bought is the correct part and the thing works! I have never seen a company who sells all the part individually on their site for replacements. Looks like to me they do this all the time to get more money out of the consumer! They should be ashamed of themselves! Not even accredited by the BBB so I can't even fine a complaint their! After researching all the firepits, including reviews, I purchased the Hiland Outdoor Gas Firepit. The packaging was damaged when received and noticed that two of the pieces were damaged. In addition, the clamps that were provided for the glass (on top) did not clamp on. I called, sent three emails, including pictures and have never received a response since May 27, 2020. I understand with COVID-19, there should be a lag, but it is now July and no one has reached out. I guess that they do not care that I spent a lot of money on a "coffee table". I have been dealing with AZ Patio for many years. The employees go above and beyond to assist me every time. I have purchased a couple product from this company and have been so pleased every time! If i ever have an issue with one of my heaters, I know I can call and someone is available to answer the phone to help troubleshoot. If i am not able to troubleshoot the issue over the phone, they are local so i can just drive over. BTW they have moved locations. They are no longer at the 101 and Northern.
