Kenmore stacked clothes washer/dryer. 2010/2011 model year
    Gerry Y.

The heating element on my Kenmore dryer went out. It seemed to me when I making the appointment that the service call fee to show up was expensive. I can see why. Having watched taking the entire dryer apart to get to the part that needed replaced was laborious and time-consuming. If they diagnose a problem and it is more than you expected, they need to be paid for their time spent to find what's wrong with it. People don't work for free. I am glad that I called them. They are a locally owned business and I do my best to make sure I support the community. In return, I mentioned that I was a disabled veteran and the service tech gave me a more than adequate discount since I had to help him both remove the washer and dryer stacked in the closet, but help him with replacing them. I would definitely recommend using them if you are in West Fort Worth or Parker County. Lastly, I asked several questions about makes to use/avoid and he was very knowledgeable and provided great information. There is a bad review of this business on here which has nothing to do with the business itself, it's because of the manufacturer's proprietary technology that was used to make the washer and dryer chosen by the customer. Remember, when you purchase makes like Samsung and LG, you get what you pay for. And price is not always a good indicator of quality. They both require proprietary parts which are expensive to purchase, and take time to acquire, fix and replace. They make their money on repairs, not sales. Food for thought.

This is definitely an honest company. I called them about my LG fridge and freezer that both…read morestopped cooling and they recommended that I actually get in touch with LG instead because I was in the 5 year compressor warranty period. She instructed me to ensure I'm using language of "noncooling issue" so they wouldn't try to say it was out of warranty (past the 2 years). I am so grateful to this company for being honest and helping me resolve my issue at no large cost due to being under warranty. I trust this company.

I didn't think there was tax on labor. Then he said it is the filter which he rinsed off and said you are good to go. Call me if you have any problems. The next day I ran this dishwasher and still have the same issue. I called today to see if he came back out of there was another diagnostic fee which I was told there would be. I said he didn't do any diagnostic on my machine before. This company is a huge rip off, do not care about their customers or the customer experience. Do not waste you time money or energy with this company. Worst experience I have ever had !!! And Max I have to disagree with your assessment. I did not repair the unit myself. Your guy said it was the filter needed cleaning and he did clean that out. The piece you referenced that I ordered myself was a plastic cover piece that functioned but a little worn. You guy said you can either replace that yourself or I can order one but that involves another trip. I looked up the piece he said was worn and I said I can get it online tomorrow for $10. Your guy said that is what I would do because if I order it then it would be $75 and not sure when it would be here. He said it is not creating your problem but I would replace it. When you pay $136 for a diagnostic fee that to me usually means checking out all the systems and see why my water pressure in the unit is so low. Your guy did no assessment. When I said here is the problem your guy said oh I already know what the problem is. He never bothered to check any of the systems in the unit. I appreciate your trying to reverse blame and put this at my feet but to me it is a simple problem that your guy did not diagnose he took a guess, address that but did not diagnose the problem.

I looked online for appliance repairs that would service a Samsung dryer, and found that most local businesses didn't work on Samsung. :-/ My next step was to contact Sears, but I knew that the repair would probably cost me at least $300-$400, and after an initial call to them, the soonest they could see me was a week later. I kept looking, and was referred to Matt from another repairman (I forgot his name). Matt called me back within a few hours of my initial call, told me that he was happy to drive out to the mid-cities to help me, and said that it most likely was the heating element - a common repair on Samsung dryers. He also could come out quickly - I called on a Friday and he could come on Monday. When he showed up, I expected that this would be a diagnosis, and if he needed the part he would have to order it and come back. However, he showed up and already had the part with him! We was super courteous and quick - he ran some tests and confirmed the heating element was broken. He even took it out of the machine and showed me the part that broke to confirm. Within a half hour, the new part was in and the dryer was as good as new! He also charged me about $100 less than Sears for parts and labor. I asked him how he got started in appliance repair, and he told me that for years he'd worked for places like Sears repairing appliances, but wanted to branch out and start his own business. I am definitely hanging onto his number in case any future appliances need work.
