After going through 3 shark vacuums ($700+) over a period of 3 years and 1 Dyson ($800) that last about 2 years... I was ready to invest in a vacuum that would both last and do a good job in my 4K square foot home with 5 dogs. I got tired of buying vacuums that were impossible to maintain in addition to having to replace all the accessories with each model. After doing my research I decided to get a Sebo D4, and I could not be happier. The staff was knowledgeable and also price matched for me and made sure I was comfortable with my purchase. Yes I spent $1500... but this vacuum is definitely a cry once buy once item, and I'm happy I chose Evan's Vacuum to purchase it through. I hope they continue to live up to the experience I had when I bring my Sebo in for servicing :) read more

I had such a great experience today at the Evans shop in NRH. Highly recommend them for any vacuum needs, repairs or new purchases. I went in with a question on the issue I was having with my Shark. He showed me a button that fixed it. I asked if he could help replace the roller brush and asked how much it would cost. He said "don't worry about that, let me take a look". He also found a cracked hose and fixed it. Shark vacuums are annoying to get into, even for a simple adjustment. O asked again about $ and he said not to worry about it that he enjoyed the quick fix since he doesn't get to work on Sharks much. I handed him some cash I had on hand anyway, after all, time is money. read more

Took two Shark vacuums in with plugs that had been chewed off by my dog. Jenny was awesome, and said thats not something they do for a Shark, but if I went and bought a couple of universal plugs, Patrick would fix them for me, no charge. I did, and within about 15 min they were good to go. I was more than impressed. And Jenny totally sold me on my next vacuum, in the most amazing and non salesy way. Again, impressed. They were really nice at first, Jenny demoed a a few vacuums for us and even let my son help out. They refused to negotiate on price though and didn't offer a cash-back return policy (just exchange) so we ultimately purchased from a competitor. Later, I called them to ask about warranty service as an authorized dealer (unfortunately the company I purchased from went out of business) and the manager confronted me about the lost sale over the phone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. I have been a dedicated customer and referral source for Evans for over 35 years. The last three large primary vacuums I use I have purchased from Evans. If I need service work on vacuums I've bought from them or from somewhere else, I take them to Evans. My small shark vacuum I use daily (I have a Dyson I bought new from Evans but I don't use it daily) but when the shark started making a loud noise, I took it to them and I was told nobody could get parts for any kind of a repair. The girl had what I was told was a "brand new" shark. It wasn't in a box but I was told it was new. I, being a trusting individual with a business I had been with for over 35 years trusted what she told me. I am not happy with the vacuum it does not do a good job it will not stand up the way it is supposed to and I suspect it is a refurbished vacuum sold to me as a new one. While in the store I pulled Amazon up and I could have purchased the same vacuum for $35 less than they were asking for theirs. I bought from them because I like giving my business to non corporate entrepreneurs. The girl that sold me the vacuumed did not make it clear that if I was not happy with the vacuum I could return it and get my money back she told me I had 30 days to return it I call and tell them that I'm not happy with it and I want to bring it back and I'm told that there's going to be a 10% restocking fee. I said no I'm not paying a restocking fee and they said that was their policy so I asked to speak to the owner. The owners sister called me and they will not simply return my money rather they have so graciously given me the option of an in-store credit or to buy another vacuum from them or I pay the 10% restocking fee. Additionally, The girl that sold me the vacuum didn't provide me with the manual or the accessories. Clearly this was a very botched sales transaction, rather than Evans do the right thing and allow me to return the vacuum with a full refund they are requiring this 10% restocking fee. This is not good business. This is not the way you treat a customer that has been with you for over 35 years. I would warn anybody to not do business with this company because if they will do that to a customer of over 35 years they will do anything. They have lost my business for life and every opportunity I get I will warn people to not go to Evans Vacuum under any circumstances read more

I have terminal cancer. When my vaccum cleaner broke, i saw it needed a new belt. My daughter who is on a walker and crippled, went to buy a new elt. They were supper nice and helpful to her and said they would come to my house a d put the belt on. Came came within an hour and fixed it. U cant find that kind of service anywhere else!!! I needed my Miele vacuum cleaner repaired so I brought it to Evans. I was greeted with sincere warmth and courtesy and that customer service continued through my purchase. Rather than a hard sell for a new (expensive) part, they worked on my vacuum and were able to repair it using parts from mine and parts from another. Not only did they fix my vacuum cleaner while I waited, they saved me over $100! I definitely recommend this business which I will utilize again and again. I purchased an expensive vacuum from Evans in 2010. It is a nice Riccar. Never have owned a decent vacuum before then. I'm glad I sunk the money and made the purchase. After five years of steady use, we smelled a belt burning. That is the longest I've ever gone without having to replace a belt. I recalled they offered a cleaning service to maintain the vacuum. I considered the price of the vacuum and felt we could get anymore years from it if I were to take it in for a deep servicing. The staff are appropriate, knowledgable, and took care of my needs. The basic service for a full tilt cleaning is $49. They take a few days to strip the vacuum down to the motor, then they clean each part as the put it back together. I like this vacuum and believe it the best I've ever owned, sure beats what we used to purchase at Home Depot for about $200 that would last 1-2 years. Recommended. read more

This place is a scam! I brought my Dyson vacuum here to get the power cord repaired because my puppy chewed straight through it. From the moment I walked through the door I just had a terrible experience. When I first got there the sales associate was on a personal phone call and I ended up having to wait eight minutes for her to get off that phone call to even be helped. Without looking at my vacuum the sales associate immediately starts telling me that my vacuum filters MUST be replaced, my Dyson vacuum isn't even four months old. I explain to her that I'm not interested that I just need the cord repaired, I was told the vacuum would take 3 to 5 days to be repaired. Five days go by and I haven't heard anything, I end up calling the store and the woman I speak with is just rude and snotty with me! Like how dare I ask for for an update on my vacuum, the weekend goes by and Monday and Tuesday and I called again... I explained that I was told my vacuum would only take five days, the woman on the phone was very rude to me and told me whoever gave me that timeline was wrong. The next day I finally get a phone call about my vacuum I am told they are just now starting repairs and again I am given a whole sales pitch on how my almost brand new vacuum needs all the filters replaced. Three days go by and I've finally able to pick up my vacuum, at this point I was just happy to finally have my vacuum back. I pay almost $90 for the repair of the cord, I was just happy for the whole thing to be over with. Boy was I surprised when I got home only to find out the cord they gave is 4 feet long! At this point I was completely furious, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager or an owner, again everyone there is rude AF! They told me I could bring the vacuum back and they would replace the cord with a longer one but just the snarkiness from the woman's voice on the phone just made me not trust or want to even give them the chance to make it right. I ended up taking the vacuum to a completely different repair shop and have them put on a longer cord for $50... I myself am a small business owner and the customer service and lack of professionalism with this place is absurd. I recommend you go anywhere else read more

I've seen these guys since I was a child growing up in Arlington, but have never used their services until this month. My vacuum had been used to clean fireplace ashes, LOL, so I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I was still hoping. I called beforehand to get an idea of price & then took it in the next week, expecting a long wait, as their tech had been out sick with the flu. Much to my surprise, Steve called me just a couple days later to say my vacuum was ready. Not only did he get it working again, sooner than expected, but it also came in costing much less, too! Although I don't wish to have another broken vacuum, I certainly know where to go now. I also know where to go when looking for my next vacuum purchase. We went in there yesterday to trade in our broken Dyson Animal. I want to thank Ross and his wingman Bo for showing us the demo of the Riccar R40P. I went in there expecting to buy a good vacuum cleaner but the Riccar R40P ended up in my car and completely shattered the "good" expectation I had! My carpets are fluffy again, my house smells cleaner. I'm completely blown away with the R40P!! Thank you again Ross & Bo for helping me and my husband!! We even got a free carpet cleaner with our purchase!! I didn't realize how much dust and dirt the Dyson was leaving behind. I'm a firm believer that a vacuum is a necessity for your health, and an investment the price shouldn't matter when you're talking about your health. Consumer beware: the information given to me on the phone was almost the polar opposite of what I was told in the shop. I called Evans because I had taken a shampooer to another vacuum repair business six weeks ago, with no ETA for it being repaired. The man I spoke to (unfortunately, I did not get his name) told me that they had Bissell pumps in stock (the first shop told me my machine needed a new pump but had not been able to get one in). I also asked him what their usual turnaround time was for repairs. He said 'one week'. I picked up my machine from the other shop and took it to Evans. The story began to change. He said he wasn't sure if they had the pump. I told him what he had told me on the phone, and he said 'Well, we carry some Bissell pumps in stock." I asked if he could check to see if he had the one for my machine. He told me the man who needed to do that was 'out with stomach issues'. I asked if there would be a charge to evaluate the machine and he said no, estimates were free. I asked how long it would take to get an evaluation. He said 'at least a week, we have 25 machines ahead of that one'. Additionally, he scoffed that I even had a Bissell, and when I said I loved my machine and had had it for at least 10 years, he said "I'm surprised any Bissell would last that long". (did he think this was a sales tactic to encourage me to buy a new machine from him?!??) He also told me I should have left my machine at the other shop, that their rate was cheaper than his, that it would be cheaper to buy a new machine than repair mine, and more negative, discouraging 'advice'. My encounter with this man certainly did not make me want to do any business with this shop, and I never will. read more

Zero stars for these guys! (i had to put one in order for Yelp to let me write a review) I wish we had read the reviews FIRST--its apparent that they do not like Dysen. We took in our broken Dysen end of November 2013--guess what? Its now mid February and STILL NO VACUUM!!! We have called and chatted, stopped by and chatted and been lied to every time. Dysen just caught them in their lie--they told Dysen they had sent our vacuum to them in December, well that was in mid January and they actually had just made their first call to Dysen about it, let alone actually package it up & send it in. I think its in their shop still sitting untouched along with all the other broken Dysens. They then made up stories/excuses for both us and Dysen. They say Dysen is lying, but I am going to take Dysens side on this since they proved Evans was the culprit. I wish we had never chosen this place. Friendly? Yes, but dishonesty trumps friendliness in my book. Oh and one more thing, the Dysen loaner they gave us put more junk on the floor than it sucked up--nice. I mean, how ironic to say that their loaner did not suck, which is sad. Perhaps they are great with higher quality vacuums like Mila and Ricaar, fine--just stop advertising that you are a licensed Dysen dealer if you do not want to work on them! read more

We took our Miele in for a free repair quote. When we went to pick it up, the quote was absolutely ridiculous and the sales guy kept pushing us to trade it in for next to nothing and spend another $800 on a new vacuum. My husband passed on both options. He got it home and decided he had nothing to lose but to try the repair himself. Upon opening up the vacuum we found multiple screws just thrown in the bottom not put back in place; there was also a missing seal and cracked internal plastic parts. Husband was able to make the repair himself and did not even have to spend money on parts to fix the original problem. Ended up needing to reorder the missing seal and that's it's. Was a total snake move on behalf of Evans. I'm sure they were banking on us either forking over the money for the repair (hence why they didn't put it back together all the way following diagnosis) or buying a new one all together. read more

We took our Dyson vacuum in to Evans to be repaired today. When we entered the store, we were greeted by a nice lady to whom we told why we were there. As an aside, we also asked her to show us how to empty the bin on the Dyson and she asked a young man who works there to come help. His name is Abraham and when we told him that our vacuum had no suction, he immediately looked at the filter piece that had come loose and pushed it back into place. Fixed! He also showed us how to empty the bin. When we asked how much we owed him, he replied, "Nothing"! He could have taken the vacuum cleaner in and charged us for a service call even though nothing was really wrong with it except for that one piece that needed to be pushed back into place. Such honesty and integrity in this day and time seems to be a rare commodity. My Mom and I would like to thank Abraham and say that if we ever need our vacuum repaired, Evans will be our go-to place! I took it to Evans and they were very nice, I dropped it off on a Friday and was told that no one would be able to look at it until Monday. I took my Dyson DC41 in to be serviced at EVANS Vacuum in North Richland Hills, Texas and after TWO MONTHS of calling them, going by to check, I and my sons were told repeatedly that they were waiting on Dyson to send the roller brush part. Frustrated, I called Dyson who stated that something doesn't sound right. Dyson called Evans Vacuum and after the Dyson representative asked Evans owner what the part # was, he finally admitted that they had not even looked at my vacuum. I was furious! Owner stated his tech had been sick a couple of days. I reminded him that it had been two months of lies. Evans maliciously and intentionally deceived me for two months. After my call to Dyson, I went to the NRH store and picked up my vacuum. I took it to "Lonestar Vacuum"in Hurst, a PREFERRED Dyson location recommended to me by Dyson. My mother and I have been going to this store since I was a child. Evans Vacuum has been nothing but great service. Its the only place to find the GOOD vacuums and to get one fixed. They know there stuff and when I go in there to get a belt put on my vacuum they don't even charge me labor. I love the fact that they come to my car to get the vacuum out and put it in my car, Kind of like the 1950 gas station feel. I think they are awesome! read more
