After spending the day at the beach, my wife and I were looking for something quick to eat and decided to try this out. We found it inside the chevron in Trinidad, and discovered that they actually closed at 5:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM. They did have some after hours offerings in a hotbox though, so we picked up a couple of bean, rice, and cheese burritos. The burritos were flavorless as was the spicy salsa. Stopped by for breakfast/lunch (I guess brunch lol), and we got the breakfast bowls. I assume burrito version similar but just wrapped up. Good price, flavor, and filling. Would like to note that depending on what meat you order, your eggs are either scrambled more or less. Grilled chicken results in chunkier pieces of scrambled eggs. BBQ steak, steak, results in smaller, more scrambled egg. I guess it's with how the meat gets mixed/scrambled up with the egg. For BBQ steak, the eggs get mixed up with BBQ sauce as well, not just the meat, so you get a more sweeter flavor overall. Great place to eat, but too bad we're not locals, came up for a weekend trip. Some tips: being part of (or inside) the Chevron gas station, the station cashier takes your order for the cooks to make. To use bathroom, will have to get key from station cashier. You may encounter interesting folks (maybe regulars here). One day, we encountered an old guy that seemed a bit wacko, but still friendly, and he seemed to have a friendly rapport with the cooks and station cashier. If you want to avoid weird situations like that, just order to go, and/or eat in your car rather than dine at the station tables. read more

They ain't as good as that place we stopped in Willits or Watcha-macallit but ain't nothin else out this way cept some fancy fish restorant and I ain't eatin' there. A decent taqueria in town! I win at life! I have yet to try out the breadth of the menu items. They seem to have breakfast, lunch and dinner items, but I don't know the hours offhand. All I got on my first visit was a chicken burrito. Thankfully, they actually used grilled chicken. I'm not a fan of shredded meat. The basic burrito comes with beans, (you can choose black beans or refried) meat, rice, and a choice of mild or hot salsa. It runs at about $6 and change, but the size is worth the money, and hey, it's Trinidad so they've got to make a living I suppose. As far as ambiance is concerned, it's nonexistent. The place is take-out only. It's inside the Chevron station where normally you would find some Taco Bell express or some other cheap chain. The service is adequate, meaning that you will ultimately be able to order and receive your food. Sometimes it can be a minute for the people working there to acknowledge you, even though they know you're there, but it was no big deal. Burrito in hand, a quick dip across the street to Murphy's Market to get some insanely hot El Yucateco mayan habanero sauce and that's all she wrote! read more

Ate here for breakfast today because I was running late at home. Walked in and like another review said, the service is adequate. Yep, I got my burrito, but the lady working there saw me standing at the counter... looked right at me and went about her business until she felt it was time to wander over to take my order without a sign of eye contact after that. It is a gas station restaurant so I can't expect much at all, right? The breakfast burrito was okay. Nothing too fancy, but filling and about $5.70. Will likely come here for lunch or something and hope for better. read more

Surprising place to get delicious, authentic Mexican food. My friend originally from Oaxaca says, "It's just like mama used to make." The tortas are especially tasty and filled with well-spiced meat. Portions are big so come hungry! I know it's hard to believe gas station food can be this good, but it's all cooked fresh by someone who knows what she's doing. I like the Aztec Grills at the Chevron Stations all along 101. Generally a reliable stop for quick burrito. My usual is a carnitas or steak burrito. Today I had the streak Street Tacos at this location and they were awesome. Nice sized slivers of carne asada in two fresh corn tortillas with cilantro, onion and spicy hot sauce. Downright yummy. Of special note was the meat. Not the usual tiny bits of chewy beef. These were tender slices. read more

So, this is a gas station with a Mexican grill setup in the corner. I ordered a Beef Taco with Cheese and no lettuce. I got a plain beef taco in a dry corn shell. When I asked about the cheese, they said cheese was extra. I told them I asked for cheese but it seems that the gas station attendant that was taking the orders for the Mexican counter wrote it down wrong? WTF is that? This is Trinidad, not the ghetto of Southern California...please get it together before you get shut down!!! Not recommended! read more

The dollar tacos are good. The chicken and pork have the best flavor. I like the breakfast burritos. There salsa is good and fresh.

I love to get the Taquitos with re-fried beans and mild salsa.

i ordered a vegetable burrito with no sour cream or cheese as i am vegan and received cheese and sour cream. i had made it very clear what i wanted and told the cashier twice to be sure. his system of taking down orders is, to put it bluntly, dumb. no wonder my order came out incorrectly. read more

If you are looking for a really great burrito, this is a great place and definitely worth your money. A great insider tip, is to order your burrito super mega, you'll get twice as much for only a couple dollars more! I'd pit these guys against chipotle any day. read more
