    Combination plate shredded beef tacos

Where do I start.. Don't come here if you're hungry because you'll have to wait 20-30 minutes for your drink, and then they bring you chips which weren't the greatest and they put it on our bill. Then your food takes 2hrs to get to you & for me, it wasn't that great & my beans and rice was cold. I ordered the shredded beef tacos and my husband ordered the Diablo shrimp and said it was good. It is an older building.

3 Sept. '24-18:30-I had two grilled fish tacos and one grilled shrimp taco ala carta and a glass of Jamaica. Excellent food! My friend had the crap tamales are he loved them! Service was very good. Inside an old hotel from the 19th century. Very historic and interesting. Highly recommended!

Located in Fields Landing this place has huge flavors served up by a husband and wife team dedicated to being the premier seafood destination in humboldt...Mexican Style! From fresh ceviches, to cocktails, towers, planchet, they have a huge ammount of selection in the seafood category what's not to love? they even asked if I wanted shrimp in my michelada... straight bloody Mary style! and my michelada was delicious backed by modelo especial you can't go wrong. ohh and the beers... ok I didn't count but I saw what appeared to be over 10 taps with both domestic, local, and import...as well as a completely stocked fridge of bottles and cans... huge selection!!! then there is the food. with fresh handmade tortillas, salsas, masa, Carnes ect... they have everything. we got a small super nachos con cabeza, enchiladas con pollo a la crema, a large side of rice and beans, and fresh tortillas.. way more than enough.. we left stuffed... while fields landing may not be the first destination you think of as a foodie, trust me you indulge at la patria, and you will turn your headand wonder if they are open every time you drive by. cheers, and we'll done! Pura vida!

Customer service: 1/5 stars. The waitress was not warm & inviting. She was throwing menus on table. No smile on her face. Food: 1/5 stars. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food. But I was not satisfied with the food I ordered. The chili relleno had too much cheese! The rice was cooked perfectly. The beans were bland. The burrito had too much nacho cheese. It was an overkill. Shrimp tostado was okay. Flavor is a 2/5. It's basic and kind of plain but if that's what you like in a simple toastada then this is for you. The mangorita was a 5/5. Super delicious!

I was hoping for some revelation here, considering this place boasts the accolade of "best seafood". I could have gone for one of the many seafood dishes, but I opted for a fish soup. Not great. It was generous, with lots of fish, but no veggies. It was edible nonetheless. Lots of chips and tortillas though, so I didn't leave hungry. It is a sketchy part of town though, but more like normal for locals.

Starting off with complimentary bean dip with chips, YUM! I'm going to review as I eat. My margarita is perfect. Bean dip is very good and taste like homemade mashed beans. I really like the hand painted walls and theme. Fired Tilapia with rice and beans, going to enjoy. It was deliciously fired. Overall, I recommend a stop if ever in Eureka, CA. I forgot to mention our waitress made a fresh pot of coffee for us. We came in right at closing 8:40ish.

Hot tortilla chips & 2 kinds of homemade salsa accompany fresh bean dip when your seated. The owners are always welcoming and everyone they hire that has waited on us has been friendly and attentive. We've never had to wait and always walk away with a great experience. March was my birthday and since we are all in quarantine we ordered tons of food to go. You can order online and put notes to add or take away ingredients and or names for each item ordered. I made a final note thanking them for remaining open so we could still make my birthday special. Not only was each item wrapped according to order, and extra salsa included - but they sent along the most delicious slice of cheesecake with a candle! It was very special and unexpected. My favorite dish is the combo fajitas with the cheese enchilada on top. The burritos and chimichangas are huge! Thanks La Patria!!!

A Cozy Coastal Gem with Fantastic Food and Service!…read more We stopped by the Trinidad Bay Eatery and Gallery for an early dinner during our trip. Located in the quaint coastal town of Trinidad, the restaurant is in a beautiful spot with ocean views just a two-minute walk away. The ambiance inside is cozy and welcoming, the staff are friendly, and we were seated after only a short 5-minute wait. The food was absolutely top-notch, and everything came out fresh and flavorful: * Chicken Burger: This came on a ciabatta bread along with coleslaw and the most amazing aioli sauce. It was incredibly juicy, warm, and flavorful. * Clam Chowder & Local Beet Salad: Both of these dishes were outstanding. The clam chowder was rich and comforting. The Local Beet Salad features organic seasonal greens, organic beets, local goat cheese, sunflower seeds, a balsamic reduction, and a citrus vinaigrette--it was top-notch and incredibly fresh. * Kids' Chicken Nuggets: My son got this from the kids' menu, which comes with a side of ranch and a generous portion of crispy fries that he really enjoyed. * Cajun Alfredo Pasta: My daughter ordered the rice pasta version of this dish, which features a creamy Cajun spiced sauce and garden herbs, making it a wonderful, flavorful gluten-free pasta option. * Blackberry Cobbler & Chocolate Ice Cream: For dessert, we shared the cobbler made with Marion blackberries and a sweet cinnamon crumble topping. It was served warm with vanilla bean ice cream melting on top and tasted absolutely amazing. My son also got the chocolate ice cream and he loved it. * Vanilla Latte: We also grabbed a vanilla latte, which was perfectly crafted, smooth, and delicious. Our server, Annie, was incredibly friendly and nice, making our family dinner feel even more special. If you are in the area, this is a wonderful place to stop for great food and a warm, local atmosphere!

The staff at Trinidad Bay Eatery were all exceptionally kind and appeared to genuinely engage with their guests. The atmosphere is exactly what one would hope for in a coastal eatery. The fish and chips were plentiful and the quality and thickness of the fish were unmatched. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and fries with a California branded malt vinegar. We HIGHLY recommend stopping by!

We were served right away and the hostess was very nice and located at two top for us. The wait person was lovely and immediately accommodating. The menu was interesting and inviting. I had to laugh out loud as there is an item on the menu referencing Pee-wee's Playhouse from my childhood. I even asked if it was a Gen X restaurant and sure enough the chef is of my generation. I'm including a picture so IYKYK! The waitress had shared all of the specials, and I was intrigued by the flat iron steak option. It was a flat iron steak with marsala mushroom sauce, and mushroom risotto and asparagus. It was delightful! The meat was perfectly cooked and tender with a lot of beef flavor, offset by a rich marsala mushroom sauce. It was perfectly complimented by one of the top mushroom risotto I have had in my life. It was delectable. And the grilled asparagus side paired nicely with the beef and marsala sauce. It even had a little bit of lemon on the asparagus, which is my preference for it! Overall, this is probably in the top five of all of the restaurant meals I've had in my life. My husband had the mixed beef burger with fries. He said he really enjoyed the burger, and I did steal a tiny taste, and it was perfectly cooked and had a slight gameness that gave it some depth. My husband said that the bun was very nice as well. The fries were perfectly cooked. The burger was perfectly cooked and it wasn't over juicing nor dry. Overall, a really great burger! Funniest thing we noticed was that all of the chairs that were sitting on a cement floor had been given rubber caps for each of the legs so that when you moved the chair, it didn't make a horrible sound. Literally extra 10 points for that alone! I wish this location well and look forward to stopping in the next time we are in the area.

That was such a great experience that I stopped in again on a similar road trip in 2019. Fast forward to 2026. My husband and I were taking that same route and made sure that Arcata and Salt were on the itinerary. I was looking forward to the amazing risotto I'd had in the past! I was disappointed to discover that the location, the vibe, and the menu have all changed. That said, we still enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Market Salad. It was fresh and the dressing was light and delicious. It was large enough to share. Not realizing how large the salad would be, my husband also ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was cooked perfectly with a light breading and it wasn't not greasy at all. For our main course, we split the Salsiccia pizza. It was the perfect size for us to share, especially given the appetizers we had. The amount of toppings were on the sparser side, but that just might be the nature of that pizza. Side note on the service: Our server was friendly enough but she was not very familiar with the menu. I asked if I could substitute the lettuce in the Market Salad for romaine and she didn't think that was possible. I explained I didn't want field greens and/or big leaves and she assured me those were not used in the salad. She said she thought it was iceberg and it was chopped very fine. With that, I ordered the salad. When it arrived, it was actually bibb lettuce that was left in relatively large pieces. At least it wasn't field greens! In their new location, they have a great patio. If I were a local, I think this could be a great place to hang out and enjoy their crafty cocktails. But since I'm not, I don't think I'll be back to Salt.

Our server was very pleasant and let us know the special of the day, a halibut dish with a creamy pepper sauce. Debating between that and another dish, we asked her recommendation and she suggested the fish. So we did it. My wife and I traditionally split meals at restaurants, because they generally give you so much food, you leave uncomfortably stuffed. We prefer leaving comfortably satisfied. So we split the Arugula Salad. They bring complementary bread with a garlic butter or basalmic and olive oil. We preferred the basalmic. The garlic butter wasn't very garlicky. But the salad was excellent. They split it for us for a small upcharge. The Halibut was excellent. We had to split it ourselves, but that was not a problem for us. It was served over couscous and was excellent. A bit small to split, so we added a cheesecake dessert with ganache. Very good. We paired it all with a Cabernet from the Oakville area of Napa (where we had just visited) and it was excellent as well. Our server was attentive. The pacing of our meal was very well done. Not too long between check-ins, but also not rushed. We recommend!

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.
