This review is a long time coming. I've been eating here for almost 2 decades. Alma's is definitely an important part of the food culture in Arcata. Im pretty sure Alma is the oldest taco truck still operating there. This is real deal authentic Mexican food. One of the best tortillas you will ever have in your life. The meats are all good and fresh which is definitely a problem at a lot of Humboldt restaurants. If you're looking for something special and you're hungry try the quesaburrito. What's amazing is Alma herself cooks often if not all the time so quality is on point. Thinking about how many incredible meals these people have cooked for me brings a tear to my eye. I grew up in New Mexico with some of the best Mexican food on the planet! After moving to Humboldt County 10 years ago, it was a real challenge to find anywhere that came close to real Mexican food. Almas food truck is one of my favorite go to Mexican food places to get that Itch scratched. The young woman at the window is always friendly and positive. She always remembers me and makes me feel welcome. The vegetarian options are plentiful, fresh, and delicious. The salsa is super good. Simply put, this is the best taco truck in Humboldt County! My favorite item is the Quesorrito, but ive had many other items and they were all fantastic! The gal that served me was very nice and polite. I have to say good customer service first off. I started off ordering a breakfast burrito. Eggs, refried beans, and cheese. It was ok. The burrito was over powered with beans. The beans also weren't seasoned that well. The egg was cooked excellent. There was only a little cheese. I asked for spicy salsa inside the burrito, but it tasted like there wasn't much. I tasted it once I got to the bottom of the burrito. I also ordered a California burrito. This burrito was excellent!!! Seasoned perfectly! The carné asada was flavorful. The potatoes were delicious. The guacamole and everything was just delicious. This burrito didn't come with beans, and that was fine, because it had everything else in it. Every bite full of flavor. Oh I also asked for extra hot sauce on the side. They do charge for that, but please know the container of salsa is very small to be charged for it. I do have to say though. I will be back to try other things! The California burrito has French fries in it, but it's pretty good and a good veggie option for vegetarians.
