I have had consistently bad food and will not return. The chips were soggy and stale and the server insisted they were made fresh daily. Not mine! The food was terrible. The service isn't great. I can find good Mexican Food elsewhere. read more

we are staying next-door at the RV park been there three times we ordered takeout food cost was $30. I received an alert from my bank asking if I added 33% $10 tip had my card number we did not! My husband went there today to show. They didn't seem to really care he had to show our credit card and they reimbursed us $10. Be alert and look at your or write in the tip area cash. Last time we went here the food was amazing. The best mole sauce I've ever had. This time everything was different. There was a big upgrade in appearance, new staff uniforms and fancy menus. this is our go to for sunday brunch when in town. there is just so many things that they do better than anyone else in their genre. Lwts start with their Menudo... served every day but i prefer mine on Sundays. Savory, hearty, and the very best in the region, i find it loaded with tripe, often too rich for a bowl, but perfect for a cup (which is above average size) And i cant go any further without mentioning the drinks. while the drink menu is huge, the margaritas are on point, and if you are unsure try the skinny. its a great margarita, lower on the shugar side leaning into the fresh orange and lime juices rather than the simple syrup. another regional best. they have a full bar and quick tip, the bloodys are fire... you wre welcome... thie decor is eye catching and festive, the service is great, and there is plenty of room even if it gets busy. its also conviently located just off the 101 freeway in arcata so its a great road stop. its leaps above the other road stops nearby. no comparrison. Chorizo and eggs, Chile Rellano plate with 2 eggs on the side, and fresh flour tortillas is our go to.. but honestly ive had other dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Stopped in for dinner while staying in nearby Trinidad, and we're sure glad we did. We weren't sure what to expect of a Mexican restaurant in Northern California (we're from central Texas), but the reviews looked good, and when we got there, the parking lot was full -- always a good sign! I ordered the two (shredded beef) enchilada plate. The refried beans had whole beans throughout -- not the typical pinto bean puree -- and the flavor was good. The rice wasn't anything special, but it was good also. What was delicious, though, were the beef enchiladas. Great taste, and a bit different from others I've had. I couldn't quite put my finger on the taste (I was never that good at sussing out different flavor profiles), but I know that I loved the chips (in the chips and salsa). They weren't the typical quarter-sized tortillas tossed in the fryer. These were cut in no particular shapes/sizes, and as they were tossed in the oil, many of them folded on themselves, making them quite thick. Our server, Jessica, was very nice and colorful! We love to eat local and stay away from the national chains while we're traveling, and this was definitely a winner. If we ever come back this way, we would definitely stop in for lunch or dinner. read more

Unexpectedly good! I thought it was a mobile home park restaurant, but... I had the Steak Ranchero (Rib Eye). Of course it was more expensive but it was outstanding! Potato was perfect, as was the rib eye. My wife had the Chicken and Potatoes. Oh man it was good too. read more

This spot is maybe 4 miles from the airport. The parking lot is pretty big, no issues parking. There were no masks required at this time. They still do offer hand sanitizer at the counter and the staff was wearing masks. The decor inside is authentic Mexican, bright colors, there is even a horse saddle that you can check out up close. We were seated and our drink order was taken, chips and salsa showed up quickly and our order was taken, nice to see folks out and about smiling. This spot has awesome chili rellenos and great chicken tacos. They also make home made flour and corn tortillas That is exactly what we ordered. Then when our food came it was hot and fresh, we appreciate the fresh lettuce and tomato's , onion and cilantro. This place is hard to beat. Great food, drinks, service, and energy. This place has a bar with plenty of tvs and lots of comfortable booths in the front. Fiesta Grill is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Arcata insofar as food quality, service, and ambiance go. The food is more Tex-Mex than authentically Mexican, so I would recommend ordering something that you might find at a Tex-Mex place (e.g. flautas, burritos, tacos etc.). Everything I've ordered here has been tasty, but I don't venture away from items like those I mentioned above. From what I've learned in Arcata, order what the clientele usually orders and your chances of being satisfied are high. Service is typically quick and friendly, and the wait staff is eager to help. The restaurant is kept clean and there are plenty of seating options. Fiesta Grill is conveniently located near Arcata's main hotel district, so if you're traveling, this is a nice spot to grab a meal and/or a drink. If you're near the hospital, Fiesta Grill is also right around the corner. I thoroughly enjoy eating here! It's a favorite spot of mine to bring my out-of-town guests on the evening of their arrival, since it's typically not jam-packed and they serve good portions for famished travelers. Arrived late evening from the Bay Area. Starrrved. Hotel gal recommended this place. We weren't disappointed at all. Ordered take out, no drinks: * 4 Corn Taquitos- 2 beef 2 chicken, lettuce, ample sour cream, crumbled queso fresco, drizzled salsa verde, and red salsas on the side. Yummy and super filling. * 6 pastor Tacos Mexicanos - loaded, $5.50 ea but worth it he said. * steak Combo Burrito- better than most he's had. More authentic. Big. Overall all we really enjoyed our food and would have it again. The restaurant itself looked pretty cool too, tho we only went as far as the front counter. Nice staff. Only reason I won't leave 5 is because we did take out, so can't vouch for dine in service. read more

So far I've had their posole, menudo, tamales, beef colorado, adobado, sopes, and chicken mole. For such a big menu they're impressively good at it all. The chicken mole is a sweet mole, and while I personally prefer it more savory, it was still delicious. Plus their micheladas use a whole bottle of beer and it's so tasty. We are longtime locals, and really enjoy good Mexican food. Fiesta is our current favorite. It is excellent in every way. Easy location (just off 101), with tons of parking; beautiful roomy space with lots of booths especially, excellent service and friendly staff, reasonable prices. But most of all wonderful tasty food, always well seasoned with generous servings. My wife is vegan, and finds several good options My favorites so far are chili verde, chile relleno, camerones diablo, though I've only sampled a fraction of the huge menu. I believe that this restaurant puts sour cream in their guacamole and will not disclose it when questioned due to allergy concerns. Some restaurants put sour cream in for a creamier flavor and it helps to keep the avocado from going brown as fast. The color is a creamy green and it looks like it could have sour cream in it. I always ask even if it doesn't look like it because it look very green but still have a dal' amount of dairy ingredient. They need to identify their allergens honestly. Traditional guacamole doesn't have any sour cream or other dairy products in it so some places don't like to admit it. As a result I have an asthma attack after every time I'be eaten here. They need to realize that someone could go into anaphylactic shock due to a food allergy, (especially likely for children with food allergies, but also affects adults) and someone could die because they're trusting them to identify allergen ingredients in their food correctly and truthfully. Dairy allergy is among the most common food allergy. Please rethink your policy. read more

Utterly horrific. We ordered to go: Chiles relleno, but what we got was not chiles relleno. There is a phot of a Chile relleno on this site, even, so we know that they know what they are. What we got was a massive glob of Jack cheese with a strip of canned green Chile wrapped in some kind of thin egg wrap, like a paper omelette. It was disgusting. We ordered potato tacos. For $13, there was almost no potato in it, and it tasted old and stale. It was as if there were two teaspoons of smashed potato in there. This has got to be the most horrific, disgusting "food" experience we have had in food wasteland Humboldt in some time. We threw it all out after eating a small amount. Also I was told no guac came with the tacos so I ordered a small side. Was told it would cost $3 and it was $4, but then, there was guac on the side of the stale, spare "potato tacos." read more

They were really busy and when I arrived to pick up our order there was a wait. But it was totally worth it for the food, which was delicious! Yummy Yum Yumminy! We got the cheese enchiladas, chicken enchilada, fish tacos and bunuelo. We come from So. Cal. just shy of the border and the food from Fiesta Grill is right up there with the best of them. I was really impressed by how well all the staff worked so calmly being as swamped as they were. I found the busyness overwhelming. When I called in our order, they patiently answered all our questions and repeated the order back without missing a beat. I could actually hear their smile through the phone. It appears the locals already know how great this place is by how busy it was. For anyone traveling through, I highly recommend this restaurant. You'll be happy you stopped. read more

Went to grab an order/bowl of albondigas on my lunch break to go of course. I went in and picked it up as it was already bagged along with another order. It was super hot so to not spill it I waited til i got back to work. Opened the bag and not only was the container of soup a tad more then half way full they didn't put anything else in there like lemons onions or cilantro which I guess is fine but the 1 important thing they left out was a spoon ‍.
