Another five star review! It was an incredible experience from the moment we sat down. The owner came and visited with us a few minutes and explained each thing on the menu. We had lasagna and grilled chicken thigh. Both were the best we have ever tasted. The garlic bread comes in a unique little wrapper and is also incredible. To top it off, the desserts are unique and wonderful. I recommend anything with lemon. The owner stopped back by at the end and visited with us and thanked us for coming. On our first night in Sorrento we noticed this place and that it always had a line of customers in front of it. It is on the smaller side (maybe it has 10-15 tables) and both indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to try it and waited for about 40 minutes for a table...but it was so worth it! The atmosphere (granted in Sorrento it's impossible not to be in an amazing atmosphere!), but the quality & taste of the food was beyond heavenly. We had the lasagna, and it was truly amazing. We showed up around 8:30pm and waited in line for about an hour. The restaurant is small so not many available seats. But the lasagna was worth every second of our wait. The sauce was so good, well seasoned, and tasted homemade. Every bite of the lasagna melted in our mouths and the cheese had a little crunch to it which added to the overall taste. They asked us if we wanted the meat or no-meat versions of the lasagna, and of course we went for the meat version. It was some ground meat in the sauce. I'd say this place is a must try. read more

We were shopping around dinner time, and I wanted to pick out someplace memorable in Sorrento on our last night before returning to the hotel. The story about the family-owned business with their dog patrolling the restaurant as the "greeter" caught my eye. We had just walked by a busy restaurant as we were discussing a place for dinner, I looked up Azz on the map and sure enough THAT "busy" restaurant was Azz. The wait for a table was maybe 10 minutes. My wife ordered the margherita pizza and I got the gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Both were served hot, tasted authentic Italian and were delicious. Three cooks (one did appear to be the father), three servers (wife, daughter and another(?)) and the little black chihuahua mix running about the tables, barking at all the other dogs being walked by - you could not ask for a more delightful experience. We loved this place. Everyone in Italy seems to go out of their way to be kind and helpful - we want to return to Sorrento and Azz! will be our first designated stop during dinnertime. read more

Anyone who's been lucky enough to have experienced this place will tell you what you most need to know; DON'T MISS IT!!! There's only a few tables so if you make a reservation you still may have to wait. And the wait is WELL worth it! The freshest, most delectable meals I've had in Italy, barring my families near foggia:) And Raffaele, the owner, is quite the enchanting chef! I swear he could make shoe leather taste like the breath of an angel! And I, myself, have won awards for my culinary efforts. Towards the end of our amazing trip and we stumbled across this place. There was a bit of a queue but it was worth the wait, as it only has about it 10-12 tables. The staff was wonderful, the food was incredible and the wine pour was heavy. They have a sweet restaurant dog that was also there to greet us and visit tables. Some may say it's not sanitary but the restaurant was clean and we saw the staff wash their hands several times so we could care less. We will try to go back again tomorrow night and we're sad we discovered it with only one more night in Sorrento. read more

The food was amazing but after waiting over an hour for 2 of us, I checked on the status of the food. This upset the owner it would appear who lectured me under her breath about how fast food isn't good food and then proceeded to blatantly ignore us intentionally. She was downright rude the rest of the time. The food was spectacular but the staff was so painfully mean on purpose after I politely asked on the food status that I wouldn't ever recommend it. I come from service background and would never treat a guest that way. Mumbling under her breath at us, just a shame. On our honeymoon it was the ONLY bad experience we had. read more
