We shared the lemon pasta and Genovese pasta. We came here already once in December 2024, and it was as delicious as we remember. Having visited multiple places in Italy and Sicily the last time, this place stood out as one of the favorite spots on our trip. Of course we had to stop by again, and we were not disappointed. When in Sorrento, lemon pasta is a must, but I have the say that the true star was La Genovese pasta, which was recommended by our server. My husband still liked lemon pasta best, which means you really can't go wrong. Their bread was also delicious, particularly the white bread and the breadsticks, and they give you balsamic vinegar and olive oil for it. Considering most of the bread we had in Italy was surprisingly disappointing, it's exciting to eat somewhere that the food is good from start to finish. They also gave us one scoop of limoncello and one scoop of lemon gelato for dessert. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the lemon gelato. This is our second time back, and we would not hesitate to eat here again the next time we're in Sorrento. Servers were also friendly and helpful. The food does take a while, but that goes to show that it all is freshly made. This place is great whether it's for a casual dining experience or for date night. They also have free WiFi, just ask them for the info. I love that it's also a family establishment, and family members work at the restaurant. Everything about this restaurant was excellent. Service, kindness, atmosphere, cleanliness, food quality and selection...EVERYTHING! Our servers were kind and patient and we even had a chance to meet the owner! I would highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered a variety of pasta dishes. Our favorite meal in Sorrento! This family run establishment goes back several generations and serves up creative and delicious meals. We were directed there by our son who discovered it a few years ago, and his favorite dish was the lemon Creme grilled shrimp, which we loved! We got back to Sorrento after a long day exploring the Amalfi Coast, and we were drunk and hungry. The restaurant I wanted to go to had a long line, so we went in to Ristorante Fuoro on a whim. We were sat and attended to immediately in a bustling and lively back room. We began with the sesame crusted tuna and the roast beef appetizers. Both were delicious, but especially the tuna. For my main, I had the Barolo-Braised Beef Cheek which was served with truffle mashed potatoes, Parmesan fondue and porcini mushroom croquettes. This dish was absolutely excellent. Definitely had a good dinner visiting ristorante fuoro for the first time. The fried calamari with shrimp was really well done and would eat that any day of the week. The lemon spaghetti was solid but the tiny little shrimps didn't compete with some of the other places around that also served this dish. Still very good and would eat again. The lobster pasta was a little lackluster as a "special" as you only get half the lobster, no claws and the spaghetti was pretty average. Overall i was still happy with the dinner but Id go back to Semola or L'antica trattoria for pasta before here. But still a solid choice if you don't have reservations read more

Definitely my number one in Sorrento so far! Food, service and ambience were excellent. The skin in the seabass was crunchy while the rest of the fish was tender, moist and flaky. The octopus appetizer was also good and tender. What made the seabass and octopus stand out was the potato puree that accompanied the dishes. The puree had a touch of citrus and mint that made it flavorful and unique to my taste. The anchovies also stood out because of the Neapolitan escarole, burrata, capers, olives that accompanied the dish. read more

I just found a photo of the business card in my photos and had to share that the food here was a big part of our happy memories of Sorrento. Solid restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The gnocchi was very good with a rich red sauce. Parmigiano will be offered as you order it which will add a nice saltiness. The cannelloni is good but was served a little lukewarm. It needed to be hot. Prices are high for what you get but you're in Sorrento and paying for it. House wine starts at a surprising €5 per glass which is nice. You can probably get a similar meal at a better price elsewhere. That said, this is still good if you don't mind the pricing. read more

My daughter found this restaurant during our recent Italy trip. The ambience was excellent, nice and cozy. The staff was very professional. I wanted to try a dish with lemons, since they were everywhere in Sorrento. The pasta with lemon cream sauce and shrimp really fit the bill. I usually don't go for cream sauces but this one was nicely balanced, the lemon flavor was just right. A hidden gem in Sorrento that exceeded my expectations. I tend to avoid restaurants that have someone standing out in the front trying to pull you in, but we were tired and hungry and the city was buzzing, so we took a chance. We were not disappointed, as we ended up having one of the best meals during our week in sorrento! I highly recommend trying the fresh smoked salmon as an appetizer, and the prosciutto was also PERFECT! Thin, buttery and fresh. For entrees, I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina, which was better than two other locations. My husband had the calamari and prawns, which were pretty good as well, but he regretted getting an entree that is all fried. Regardless, it was a light and crispy fry! The highlight was the beautiful lemon mousse dessert. We loved it so much that we ordered two additional to-go. Throughout our meal, our service was nice and prompt, even though they were busy. There is air conditioning here, so you can be sure you'll stay nice and cool, and the decor is very cute and quaint. This is one of the top meals we had in Sorrento. Located in the heart of the historic center tucked away in one of the charming alleys. Reservation is encouraged. We saw few parties walked in and got a table. Also, the restaurant is huge. We found out later that they have 3 consecutive spaces on the same block. I had the best seafood linguine. Pasta was cooked al dente in a light delicious tomato sauce. The burrata tomatoes starter and fried zucchini flowers was incredible. The cheese in Italy is just next level. Many options for vegetarians, fish and meat lovers alike. An excellent selection of wine and in an intimate setting. The complimentary limencello shot after dinner was a lovely touch. We found this restaurant while looking for shelter from the rain, and while it has potential, our experience was just "Ok." It was packed in the front, so after waiting we were finally seated in the back room which seemed like it wasn't opened yet for dinner. Service was a bit slow since we were pretty much in a closed-off room with no windows... but when the older gentleman came, he took our order speedily. Fried Zucchini Flower - had to try it because I heard about it for a while, it's looks like a mini burrito but much lighter, filled with ricotta cheese and the said flower. Had some chew, but just ... it wasn't very satisfying. Basically delicate fried dough with ricotta inside. Botoni - This dish was slightly disappointing. It's basically a dozen or so smaller raviolis filled with monk fish which wasn't as chewy as I had expected, and the squid ink was "drawn" onto the plate in a form of fish... and even though I tried to scrape it with the pasta, it didn't add much flavor. It didn't help that the overall dish just did not look appetizing. (bland yellowish color) I'd skip. Pasta w/ Porcini cream sauce - This was a special, and it was the winner. Pasta was appetizing-looking (unlike the Botoni), cooked perfectly al dente, and the fragrant porcini bits along with shrimp went great in the creamy tomato sauce. This was the "comfort food" we needed after all day walking in the rain in ponchos. For a highly rated restaurant, we left wanting. Portion was on the light side too and I found myself thinking of a Big Mac. I think you can find a better one elsewhere. read more

This is where this restaurant lands Environs. This is a block or two off the main drag and gets a point or two for that. There is no view other than across the street. Scale is small and even charming. Service. I kinda laugh at folks saying the service at European Restaurants is slow and staff aloof. You are not in US Karen, chill out. None the less, this is B service even by low Euro Bar. Food. Again a B. Not much to remember across the entrees and desserts we sampled. Excellent service and food preparation for each course. We enjoyed authentic homemade dishes which did not disappoint. The wine pairing were excellent and each course was a stand out for our most memorable dinner in Sorrento. To keep it short we explored the menu and ordered the Smorfatino Zucchini to start which was a stuffed flan dish with zucchini cheese and meatballs (I could have eaten two of these alone as they were that good). We followed with a Primo of the Tagliolini w shrimp and lemon cream sauce (insanely good) and Lamb Ragout Candele (get this indeed). Both plates were filled with great flavor, homemade pasta was the star and filling for each of us. Lastly we finished the meal with a Secondi of grilled sea bass with a light lemon mint sauce.
