It takes some time to fit weird feet into Birkenstocks, my friends--I have weird feet and they have never felt more seen and celebrated than they did at Journeys. This is saying something because I have been to a number of specialty shoe shops be they orthopedic or fashion-forward, where staff are not just undereducated about product but focused on hustling product commission. Did you know that in a Birkenstock, a 38 narrow footbed can fit like a 37 regular footbed? It's true. Think about that. (Women understand this math mystery because we wear brassieres and similar magic is at play re sizing and girlfriends, if you did not know this, please Google and welcome to the promised land.) Did you know that a Birkenstock "soft" footbed fit-feels differently than their standard footbed fit-feels? Makes sense right? Something squishy fits differently than something structured, EVEN IN THE SAME SIZE. What I'm getting at here is that the staff at Journeys are basically benevolent scientists when it comes to sharing myriad details of fit and utility. I worked with Lauryn, who is kind and knowledgeable. When I apologized for being a mental nightmare to fit she replied, "You're fine. I love helping people." Folks, omg!!! Maybe just go to journeys to experience next-level understanding and can-do vibes. Both Lauryn and her colleague Brooklyn helped me come home to myself, in color and style, as young, fashionable women of a certain age are super good at doing. They were well aware that my lifestyle includes subways and sidewalks and walking everywhere AND they understood the importance of being cute whilst living life. I tried on eight pairs of shoes in different colors, materials and sizes. During my final moment of hesitation over the shoe I wanted, I shared that everyone in NYC has been wearing the white Arizona for at least three years. They intoned: YOU DO YOU. So I did. I walked out of Journeys with the white Birki-Flor Arizona and I am thrilled. ps: Journeys has a brilliant returns policy which is frankly phenomenal: if your shoes aren't working for your feet and they show reasonable wear, one has 365 days to return the product.

It's an outlet store with no outlet pricing. The store is rather large and packed full with items to pick over. But, like I said, there is nothing outlet about this place. It looks and operates like a regular mall store. Areas are set up to reflect distinct areas in the stores for sections. Then there is the clearance section...which is always a mess and hidden from the front of the store. Of course the clearance section is a mess. I bypassed those and ended up browsing through the store. I did take notice that there were select sales for items in different areas. I picked up a few items and made my way out of the store.

Nothing, that's what, you are stuck with it and won't appreciate clothes during Christmas until you are older in life. When I came in here I was greeted as soon as I came in the store asking if I needed anything. Of course I did not know what I was looking for as I was just browsing, so I declined. I went through the store and picked up a few items and made my way to the register. Every thing was on spot in here. The interactions were pleasant. I would definitely stop back in here again.

Took mom shopping while we were visiting Frederick, which is about 40 mins away from this location…read more They were having a sale of buy one pair shoes, get one pair for 50% off and this included clearance items. The lady that helped us was very patient. My mom has one foot that is slightly bigger than the other and normally its no issue, but on occasion she can have some issues with one shoe being too big and the other just right. The lady that assisted us was really kind and continue to offer my mom a variety of styles until we found the ones that fit her the way she likes them to fit. We ended up with two pair shoes for less than $40 from a brand that is know for its quality and comfort.

We walked in and looked around for a bit. Not seeing what he wanted where we were looking we asked where in the store would be the style he was looking for. We were told it was towards the back of the store. We started to head that way. Ten seconds later and they are yelling at us. Why? Because where we were, we were kind of blocked in. A gentleman in a wheelchair was trying on shoes blocking the one aisle. They employees were blocking the other part of the aisle, leaving for the only way to get to the back of the store behind the register. That was exactly why they were yelling at us. Because we walked the only way we could. We were told that we weren't allowed to walk behind the register. Well, one of two things here. Have an employee at the register so that we would know it was the register. Or be understanding that this is the ONLY direction we could walk. When my dad did find what he wanted and went to pay he asked if there was a senior citizen discount. Instead of saying yes and giving it to him they had a very harsh tone asking his age. We all know how a man near 70 year-old doesn't care if he hurts your feelings with what he says. That was my dad at that point. He ended up getting the discount, but only after the employees felt like their attempt at embarrassing my dad failed.

Slim selection on many other items as a result of the sale I'm sure. Could barely find sizes medium and large for women's but no shortage of Small, XS or XL. Really great selection of shoes and accessories for men, women and children. Terrific shopping. Grabbed a few hoodies, gloves, a pullover and some beanie hats as gifts for my nieces. I thought the dressing room was really cool as the exterior walls have artwork that delivers a history lesson about the business. Very cool.

Caught this store in the middle of a MAJOR sale this weekend. The staff seemed almost as excited…read moreabout it as the customers. The sales associates were cheery and delightful, offering ideas and suggestions, helping shoppers make some very tough decisions ("Do I get this bag in every color, or should I get this one color in a different style?") and making the men in the store feel slightly less out of place (like my very patient boyfriend!). They walked around with cheat sheets to help customers get an idea of how much their purchases would cost, and they happily did dozens of price checks for customers, when asked. I was having a hard time finding the right bag for me. I was in the market for a black patent leather bag (which they didn't have), that I could comfortably carry on my shoulder and tuck underneath my arm, that I could both wear to work and dress up, and that had a full zip closure. Nothing I found seemed to be fitting the bill. One of the associates (I think my receipt said her name was La H.) stepped in to help me and nabbed my (almost) perfect bag on the first try. It wasn't patent leather, but it was still pretty damn fabulous. And when the whole store is on sale, you can't stop at just a hand bag... that would be rude. No, one must share the love. So, I picked up some accessories for myself and for a friend (also on deep discount!) and STILL walked out paying less than I would have paid, full price, just for the purse. That, ladies, is what I call a score!

I was creating as I walked in and was quickly pointed in the right direction (Mens pants) the employee didn't stop there though; she continued to give excellent customer service by giving me some brief product knowledge about their different fits. I was really pleased with the cleanliness of the store as well as up beat personality of the employees. The only thing I was sadden by is that the didn't sale mens shoes.
