My wife just called to inquire about an estimate for our remodeling/repair project and the owner told that it would be a waste of time to come out to give us an estimate. This arrogant attitude is in line with one of the reviews that the company received in the past. Rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Please stay away from those folks... Update: Following this review, the owner sent this message: "Wasting my time because you are not ready , just looking for get estimate for it, and i give to you prox prices for each project, is helps to avoid waist my time ,rather yours !!! thats is the reason ... other wise i would love to give any one any estimate i will go even to the moon "! We were rather timid about calling any contractors to come in and do some improvements on a house we recently purchased. With fear in mind we called B &B Home Improvements and Botar (the Owner) answered the phone and said he would come the following the day to give us a Free estimate and if we liked his price and we liked him he would go ahead with the work. He came by this morning and gave us some great advice for the trim we had bought for him to install. He suggested that we go a little bigger because it would look a lot better once everything including the carpet was put in. He measured everything out in a matter of minutes and gave us a great estimate. We were still hesitant but had a good vibe from Botar and really appreciated his professional opinion. After all, he was not making any money on the materials. So we took him up on his estimate, he said he would get the work done by 8PM the same day! He also took my boyfriend to pick up the bigger pieces of material since we did not have a truck and had rented one the day before to transport the materials. Normally any contractor would charge you extra for this but he did not. He had another worker show up (Aidee) and he was such a nice person and he got right to work while they ran to Home Depot to pick new materials up. Before we knew it the work was all done at approximately 3:00PM including his clean up work and vacuuming. The trim work looks so great that we KNOW we will be calling Botar and his crew back to do much more work on our first home. Good to know there is still quality, honest and hard working contractors out there. I would recommend B&B to any family and friends and to any of you! Their prices are unbeatable too! read more

We purchased a new house and wanted to get rid of all the carpet and put in hardwood floors before we moved in. I called B&B and he was able to come out to give me an estimate and recommendations. I didn't go with all the recommendations but I did go with their service. Then we had a flood in the kitchen and ended up using them to replace all the laminate with ceramic tile and redo the basement ceilings and drywall. Hard working tradesmen and upfront about the work that needs to get done. We will use them again in the future when we redo the bathrooms and kitchen. read more

I found Mr. Bator on Craigslist. Should have come to Yelp before connecting with this guy. I explained the project over the phone and he indicated he could start in the middle of the following week and knock out the project in two days. He scheduled to come out to the house and give me a formal estimate, between our phone call and the estimate date he did not respond to a single email. Finally the day of the estimate comes and he texts me, "what did you want done again?" He then told me that he only does "full renovations." Do yourself a favor and skip this guy for your home re-modeling needs. read more

GREAT EXPERIENCE working with Mr. Bator. I found this company on Craigslist. From the start, he guided me into remodeling my 5x7 feet, 30 year old bathroom near Clarendon metro in Arlington, VA. The project included removing the tub and making it into a shower, new toilet, vanity, lights, tile, paint, mirror, exhaust fan, toilet paper holder, two towel racks, recessed medicine cabinet, and new plumbing shut off valves. He had me check with condo for rules, he suggested a tile company that included a free designer consultation. He also installed new carpet and a kitchen faucet. The entire project took 3 days. My new tenants are moving in early due to Mr. Bator's hard work, technical and professional experience. Oh, yes, one more thing. The bathroom is classy white subway tile with beveled edges, marble shower floor tile, and gorgeous large gray porcelain floor tile. Quick summary: The renovation through B&B Quality Home Improvement was fast, high quality, reasonably priced, and the owner responds quickly to inquiries and questions. I had a relatively small renovation job that I wanted to do this fall. It included replacing 7 doors, base molding, and casing/trim around windows and doors in 3 bedrooms and the hallway to the bedrooms. I also asked for the wood paneling in these rooms to be removed. I started looking for contractors in the summer and got what I thought were some pretty high estimates relative to the complexity of the work. I finally decided to order the materials myself and hire a contractor to install them. I got a very reasonable quote from Baatar, the owner of B&B Quality Home Improvement, who I selected partially because prices are available on his website. His estimate accurately reflected the difficulty of the work, and he was able to itemize for each component of the work so that I could evaluate the accuracy of the total. He also gave me the estimate immediately, which was much better than waiting 1-2 weeks as the typical contractor requires. In setting up the job, Baatar responded quickly to phone calls and emails. The work was completely rapidly (about 1.5 days). There were no problems that Baatar and his crew could not overcome. The final product was professional and looks beautiful. I used Mr. Bator to renovate a bathroom several years ago. He replaced ruined drywall with new cement board, installed new glass walled-shower, faucets, shower tile, and floor. He was very helpful and even went with me to Home Depot in selecting products (he doesn't normally do that). He did all work within 3 days - it still looks wonderful. I was very appreciative as I was in a time crunch to repair. I'm looking for him again, but the project may be too small. I don't know if he's licensed, but he was competent and reliable. read more

We had the so called Mr.Bator come out to give us a estimate on a kitchen remodel along with some other people that were actually contractors. That is when we learned that he was not a actual licensed contractor as he represents himself to be. A easy search at DPOR website will save you lots of headaches. read more

Very good job was done on my hardwood floor. Mr Bator fixed rotten wood very skillfully, so fixed area matched the rest of the floor.

After agreeing on a price to install an interior door, the contractor said he would stop by on Friday night to make sure of the scope of work and he would start the work on Saturday. On Friday, he said he was running late, so he would just come Saturday morning. A little frustrating, but understandable (I guess). On Saturday, he never showed and never responded to texts asking if he was coming. Who knows if they do quality work, they never showed up... Obviously, we went with someone else. read more

Not only was the person very unprofessional and extremely unhelpful, but they claimed not to work on condos (not advertised anywhere on their website), and hung up on me. We used Baatar, the owner of B&B to remodel our very large(size of a 2 car garage) master bath. Baatar and his helper gutted it down to the studs. They moved a double sink, along the same wall, about 2' and expanded the shower, making it wider and adding a bench along with a inset shelf. He was able to take the linen closet that backed up to a large attic dormer area and convert all the space into a large linen closet with plenty of extra storage space. This required moving the door opening and closing off the old door. Baatar did and excellent job of tiling the entire space, creating a great looking pattern. When it came down to the details he was very exact. His creativity helped us look at other ways of utilizing the space in an efficient and elegant way. All is work was reasonably priced. He charges for labor and you pay for the materials.The items he needed to buy (I did not think of) he provided a receipt for and I paid the actual cost. Don't forget when you demo there will be dump fees. While B&B is a small company and it took about a month to get on the schedule, they were on time each day and completed the entire job in a little over a week. read more
