As previously discussed, See part 2. Siding! It's a lot less exciting than the exclamation point makes it out to be. I gave this part of the job 4 out of 5 stars, not because the customer service was any less, but the laborers and safety I praised so well in part 1 took a step back. George and team are amazing to work with and I'd prefer this 4 star not serve as a detractor from Beyond Exteriors, but a reminder that personnel not practicing good safety practices at the risk of "getting the job done" put everyone at jeopardy. The quality of the installation of the siding/wrapping/gutters was easily a 5 star product. The attention to some custom drainage solutions during the work and not during the punchlist walk would have been appreciated, but in the end only detracted minimally from my experience. 30 years from now when/if I have to do this again, I could see myself going with Beyond Exteriors, and you should too. read more

Update to review from 2018 (which was also a 5 star review): 2 years after installing a new roof and adding insulation to the attic, I noticed the attic fan was running a lot more than it should. Beyond Exteriors came out and figured out that an electrician that had done unrelated work in the attic had changed the settings for the attic fan. They fixed it, and didn't charge anything. It's pretty hard to find a 5 star roofing company, It's even harder to find one that stands behind their work and will come out and address issues years later. We used Beyond Exteriors to replace our roof and install gutter covers. They did a fast and neat job. I especially appreciated the representative, Jorge, taking his time to explain why he was recommending certain products versus other products that were both more expensive and cheaper. In addition, a couple months after they installed the gutter covers, we noticed one of them popped off after a big windy storm. We first hired Beyond Exteriors to inspect a window on our townhouse where water was coming in and damaging the drywall. They were able to effectively diagnose the issue and clearly explain what had happened and why. George was by far the most professional and well-spoken contractor I've hired. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding his craft that he is always more than happy to share. The second job we had them perform is trim replacement around the outer windows of our house. Again, George came out and clearly articulated what they would do and was very specific about why the way they would do it is the best approach to include advice on building materials and options. Again we were completely satisfied with the quality of service and craftsmanship. The last project we hired them for was to seal around a window we thought had some leaking issues. Initially, there was a miss-communication and the work was done on an incorrect window. However, once this was discovered, the owner of the company immediately took responsibility, apologized, and had his crew do the exact same repair plus additional preventive repairs on the correct window at no additional cost. Based on these 3 experiences, we will continue to use Beyond Exteriors as our go-to contractor. Their professionalism and quality of service are unmatched. Beyond Exteriors just finished a multi-stage project on my house and I could not be more pleased. Re-shingled roof, including replacement of metal roof, replacement of rotting wood, and new crest venting; new gutters, slightly larger and well secured; new cladding of all trim; repairs to two inside ceiling leaks including drywall, wainscoting, and painting; cladding and vinyl soffits for small front porch; new modular screening for the back porch; new light fixtures (LED) for kitchen, back porch, and front porch; installation of five new windows; and minor repairs to a small rear deck and steps. Left a very detailed request for an estimate via yelp. I provided measurements, materials required and even the site address. Instead of an estimate I received a request to call the company. I called and again provided detailed information about the project. The lady then asked for contact information and so I provided her with my email and my first name. She then asked for my last name which I did not want to provide considering the many unsolicited phone calls and emails I get everyday. She then rudely told me she could not write up an estimate without. All other companies were able to provide an estimate based on the information I provided. Strange. read more

We went the whole nine yards, meeting with multiple roofers to get an assessment and project estimates, following up to get comparable project specs and costs, and finding out as much background on the companies as possible; without question Beyond Exteriors demonstrated their expertise and professionalism throughout and their reputation for quality work is well documented. Beyond Exteriors is amazing. We have used them to patch a major exterior hole on our house and they also replaced all of our gutters. The work was superb. One of the owners came to my home at my convenience to assess the situation and gave a very fair price, including a military discount. All work occurred while I was at work and was done to perfection. Other than the fact that my house looked better, you would have no idea anyone had been there - their employees left no trace behind! In addition to being an all around great company, they have a great network that they work with, which I think says a lot. They provided me with a recommendation for a shower door company for a separate project who was also amazing. I called to get a quote for an estimate on work for a property I had placed under contract. The roof had some problems so I had hoped to have a good roof contractor come and get a feel for the cost to make repairs prior to closing. I received a call back and was told that they would not be able to help me. They stated that they do not give estimates on houses under contract and could not assist me until after closing. I feel like this is not a good way to gain business and was very disappointing as I had heard such good things about this company. Obviously, I cannot recommend them since they refused to help me. Update: The owner called and was very polite. he apologized for the inconvenience and explained that they could come and do a home pre-closing budget for a fee. Yelp! These guys are as good as it gets. They are the BEST! It is always good business practice to get at least three quotes before you go into business with any company. I made my four phone calls and I would either have to leave a message and go through hoops to get someone on the phone with me. One time, I made an appointment for a free estimate with Best Window and Glass and wasted my whole day for a no show; not even a returned phone call. But when I called Beyond Exteriors, my phone call was answered right away and I was able to get an appoint for a free estimate. It was even after hours so that I don't have to take off from work. George and Andrew were always either available to take my phone call, replied to my email, or called me back. They were professional and courteous the throughout the whole business transaction. I was able to get a status report; and they delivered earlier than promised! Their work proposal was absolutely professional; they were courteous on the phone/email, kept their appointments, and delivered a quality product and labor. They cleaned up after themselves and replaced the trimming on my window for free. The window looks fantastic! These guys are great. I got a number of quotes for gutters and miscellaneous jobs, and they were very competitive. I found some quotes for gutters that were much higher, and others around the same price, but the good reviews is what got me, and I'm glad I went with them. ~$2200 for gutters with shields (not LeafGuard) and things look great. They were also very open to comments and questions. They never got frustrated with my questions and were willing to do what I requested real-time. Generally you want to be present for the work as there's always things you can oversee. The price for some miscellaneous jobs were also very competitive and they did a great job. My situation: I had a small roof repair (replace about 4 shingles) but I needed it done fast. Here's why i gave them 5 stars: 1. Super responsive/ good communication - I literally called about 8-10 roofers before I got a live person. After the initial converstation with Andrew, I called him several more times over the course of the job and never got voicemail. Needless to say, this made the process of getting information and confirming details super easy. He explained all the details without pressuring me in any way...no arm twisting with these guys. 2. Great rate - after comparing email quotes that i received from other companies, they had the best rate by far. Andrew was honest and completely straightforward...didn't try to take advantage of my situation in any way, but was understanding and worked with me. 3. Very professional - don't know too much about roofing but this company was very professional. Clean cut, had all the necessary tool, and completed the job much faster than expected. These guys are great, highly recommended. We were getting various leaks throughout our roof, which we ended up having them replace. I worked with Andrew, who was very responsive. He did a very thorough job inspecting both on top and under the roof - and even providing pictures of all the damage areas. He provided a detail quote providing me with my options (Repair vs Replace roof), as well as answering all my questions to help make my decision. Price was very reasonable and was able to schedule/perform the work rather quickly. Couple months after the roof replacement I notice a small leak. I contacted Andrew and he came out the very next morning. The cause of the problem ended up being a poor job done by our Dish Network installer, by not properly sealing the dish bolts in a recent install. We recently had our roof and skylights replaced by Beyond Exteriors. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work and quality of the installation. Belinda, Cody, and Troy were extremely professional and communicative during the process and were upfront regarding any challenges that the team ran into during the install and additional costs associated with those items. One thing of note that I was particularly impressed with was the clean up after the installation. Our neighbors had recently had their roof updated and their installers left a large amount of debris throughout their yard and ours. The Beyond Exteriors team spent a large amount of time not only picking up debris but blowing off both of our back patios, sidewalks, and front entrance to leave it as if they were never there. I called 5 gutter/exterior companies when I recently had the snow take out my entire front gutter on my rental property. Beyond exteriors was the only company that called me back within 4 hours, and from there they went beyond my expectations. I had a quote on the same day which was definitely not the least expensive, but reasonable. We agreed on the work, and they promised it would be done by the end of the week - then they actually did the work the next day. Because I was off site, they communicated with me then entire time. Also, they stand by their work, so should I have any issues with it, I know they'll be back out. So, you get what you pay for. I can't speak as to their other exterior services, but they seem to do a great job with the gutters and I know they'll be my first call should I need anything else. read more

Excellent work, fair price - the only reason I give them four as opposed to five stars is scheduling. I understand that it is very difficult to schedule when the outdoors is involved (the weather), but that is part of the project. My project: I had the front water plane replaced with a copper gutter and I replaced my slate shingles with synthetic (plastic) slate shingles on an older DC row house. I found the company to be accommodating, knowledgeable, and forthright. They brought me three options to address my problems - low, medium and high priced. I was surprised that they recommended the medium priced option as the one that would best serve my needs. It is refreshing to have a company that suggests the best, not just the most expensive solution. Again to be clear, price and quality of the workmanship were excellent, scheduling was average. All in all I would recommend and use them again - they should be on everyone's short list for exterior work. read more

Requested a quote which was the same price on the final quote of the roof. They came in on the day that was scheduled and finished it on the same day. The workers cleaned up the mess as if nothing had happened. The prices if not competitive are far lower than market price. I am very pleased with the operation and they even installed the attic fan for free. I am going back to BE next year to do my insulation and will give an update on that. I am writing to commend Beyond Exteriors team and Andrew personally for honesty and transparency in their conduct. My insurance company identified an issue with our roof and I had a few contractors come out and issue a quote. A lot of contractors gave me quotes for things that needn't require fixing and were misleading. Andrew's solution was the most optimal, effective and addressed the problem raised by the insurance company correctly. Andrew even provided photographic evidence (as we can't go to the roof ourselves). I will rely of Andrew and team for any issues in the house in future related to roof and anything else. I recently had some wood replacement work done through Beyond Exteriors and I would like to rate this company at 2.5 stars. There are definitely things that Beyond exteriors did admirably, but they also fell short on some key things... First off, Andrew did a great job detailing everything that we discussed to be done on the initial contract and was very knowledgeable and hands on. He also did a great job explaining and documenting what requires replacement and he was not pushy or tried to upsell. Beyond Exteriors was also very responsive when I reached out regarding issues. Brenda is on top of all communications and concerns that I voiced. Here is where I felt was problematci. I will try to keep it short here... Contract was signed 8/9/2016, expected completion date is 8/31/2016 and expected time to finish is 1 day. Work was not started until September 7th due to staffing issue which is not a problem. However, workers that worked on the repairs left without confirming project is complete. When I checked it out, there were some issues with workmanship and I emailed Beyond Exteriors about having some people come back out to resolve. Brenda was quick to respond, but was unable to initially provide an ETA on when they can come back out to fix. After some persistence with calling and emailing on my part (again, they were responsive when I reach out), crew was scheduled to come out 10/10/2016. Beyond contacted me that day and cancelled without providing a reason or when they can come out again. I copied Andrew on the email chain and he wanted to schedule time and come up to go over the issues and next steps (I thought it was already clear what needed to be fixed??). Once I met with Andrew, i waited a few more weeks and didn't hear back so I called Beyond again. They were happy to notify me that they can finish the work next week on 11/4/2016. As promised, they completed the job satisfactorily and they actually did a walk through with me to ensure i am happy with the final result. So all in all, Beyond Exteriors did a good job with initial estimate, communication, and delivering a satisfactory final product, but they fell short on delivery on time, and was a bit mysterious in staff scheduling. read more

I recently had to have my roof replaced on a TH in Haymarket, Va. I called these guys and two other big guys and one local company. I received quotes from all 4 and they all were above 5k and some over 6k. One wasn't inclusive and that is always suspect to me so I made them give me a complete quote before comparing all. I ending up going back to all vendors after their initial bids and asked for a revised quote with better pricing. They all received this well and gave me pretty decent dsicounts and I ended up under 5k. I ended up picking Beyond Exteriors. Here is why. They gave me the best "gut" feeling. Everyone was nice but Andrew was good to go and not a used car guy or pushy. He went on the roof and actually looked at what we had. Not all of them did that which was an issue for me. They made recomendations that others didnt about the venting of my roof. Everyone else was standard replace. Andrew explained what was best for the new roof and we went with it. Beyond Exteriors has a Lifetime Warranty on labor and the shingles have their 25 year warranty. The next best warranty was 10 years. After the job I received an email from Andrew with pictures of the roof. I was not expeting this and it was great!! How else can I see the roof?? Their quote was very detailed and was all inclusive. This is important to avoid them tearing your roof off and then gouging you for more cash. Andrew also noted the color of shingle I currently had nd replaced with the same color to avoid Home Owners asscoiation issues. In the end all vendors quoted the same roof. 25 year shingles with same roof, etc. so it came down to labor price and small stuff. Like they use hurricane clips and nobody else does. Not that we need them but their quote was still cheaper. These guys are great and their crew is clean and they sweep up properly. Do your home work but you will be happy with these guys. They also accept credit cards at no extra fee. I had the cash but used my CC for miles and then paid it off the same week after they charged it. I hope this helps some of you as this is a big purchase. read more
