We took our 2024 GLE for front brake repair. While of course the Deal wants to replace the Rotors with the Pads, and I had my doubts, we took the Car to German Autowerke and they confirmed my Rotor were ok and just needed pads. I was grateful for that. They're nice people and will continue to bring my SUV there as needed. The price was offered as according to my expectations and not a dime over charged. Got a quote for some repairs for my Mini Cooper and paid the invoice. A couple of days later I got a call saying that their mechanic had broken something when he was fixing something else in my Mini. They said they would cover the cost and we ended the call. Btw, that call lasted all of 1 minute, per my call log. Two days later got another call from them saying that I owed them another $100.00 plus for the service and parts they previously said they would cover. Scammers. Almost 2 weeks pass from the last time that someone contacted, so I called the shop but there was no answer. I decided to text them and that's when they say that my car was ready. Nobody had call me though. My car was just there in their shop, ready. Obviously they had collected their money, so it was all the same to them. But I, the customer, was without a car for more than a month. Finally the owner, Vince, texts that he can deliver the car to me, tomorrow. I said ok. Then he texts back and says that he had offer to deliver today (the texts obviously show that he offer to deliver it tomorrow). He then says that he can pick me up tomorrow and bring me to the shop, to what I answer that that was not the offer. Then he offers to send me an uber (at this point I was like, what is going on here?!). At that point I don't even know what he is answering or texting. It was the most bizarre exchange that I've had with a place I was doing business with. All is can say is AVOID this shop at all costs. Horrible customer service. Overpriced repairs. My car was ready and nobody contacted me about it, and then the most bizarre text exchange happens with the owner of the shop. I include screenshots of the texts as proof. read more

Needed a smog check for a vehicle brought in from our of state. A few other shops either wanted me to take off the engine cover under the trunk of this mid-engined car, or wanted to charge more for doing so. After calling the folks at German Autowerke, they said they'd be happy to do it, for no extra charge. I was there in 30 minutes, waited in their awesome facility for the test, which probably only took another 30 minutes, and was on my way home quickly. Finally.......an auto shop that knows how to fix electric cars! I brought in my 2014 BMW I3 REX for a nagging drivetrain malfunction issue. Through their diagnosis, Vince and his crew were able to pinpoint the problem, apply the fix, and then, most impressively, explain it to me to the point where I actually understood it - all at a reasonable price. They were even able to upgrade certain software elements of the car that now allows me to get more mileage. Overall they are true professionals - from the intake process with Paige & Vince where everything was laid out clearly, to the checkout where I was given a thorough report card on my car's health. I've had my last 2 services (2020 C43) done at German Autowerks. Vince is my go to, he's a car genius! He's also makes having a nice car affordable compared to dealer services I also bring my mom's 2008 c class for service and repairs. All my experiences have been seamless, and repair/ results were exceptional and cost effective. If you're similar to me. Taking your Mercedes to the dealer for all maintenance you probably paid double than what was truly required. For example my regular service is $80-100 less than Hohen Carlsbad. Looking back now, Based on how many brake replacements I've had at the dealer (they replace when pads reach a specific measurement ) I'm probably gaining one free brake job after 5 by using German Autowerks. I'm remembering the dealer replaced my brakes at their suggestion every other service. Stating they are at so and so measurement. Of course I'd just agree and have them replaced. Brakes are a huge safety issue for me. However, after my last service , German Autowerks sent me home in Feb2025 with a note. "Brakes will be due soon when sensor message comes on". Along with an estimate ) I had no idea there was a sensor message !! Fast forward to July 2025 my check brake light comes on. (I got over 4 months of extra brakes usage ) yes girl math. lol. I have a 2020 BMW M5 35 Jahre, a couple of weeks ago, the lithium battery died, have AAA looked at it and the guy can't even tow it. So I called the owner at GA, V.T., and he said he will order the lithium battery, took quite a while since it was coming from the Fatherland. Anyway, V.T. came into my garage Tuesday and personally installed the battery and personally registered it as well, he brought the laptop with him, what an outstanding service, great value and personal touch is unheard of, I highly recommend GA if you have an issue with your German automobile. I made an appointment and brought my Audi in for some required maintenance that was discussed with the service rep, I had a list of issues that I wanted fixed while the car was there that they were to diagnose....simple? Not for them. Car was supposed to be returned yesterday but if i didn't stop by today they would have kept it over the 3 day weekend costing me another 3 days in a rental fees. Thing is, they didn't do what they were supposed to - I said the car shakes when braking at 70, they agreed; yes the car shakes at 70, its the rotors. Instead of telling me that on Monday, I found out today on friday. So... what now, bring it back again? WTF did i have the car there for? So i could bring it back again later? So i could take your repair estimate to another shop? They said my coolant is low and the wrong color, recommend to change and fill - gee, thanks... again, when should i set up doing that? Maybe next week i can rent a car again and go through the process of dropping it off? I have a problem with a new passenger seat I bought and asked them to look at it, I brought the seat in and left it in the lobby. They were supposed to test all of the motors and figure out whats wrong - instead, they pushed the buttons on the mismatched seat thats in the car that im using so i can have a passenger seat and said im stupid, the seat works. $3700 worth of total incompetence, I dont trust any of the work they did or said they did anyway and ill never bring my car back to this place I made an appointment, dropped the car off and paid you all of the money you asked for.... so what could i have done to be a better customer worthy of good service?
