Impressive roadside dive, perhaps not for everyone in its let's say rustic setting. But if you want good barbecue, generous servings and fair prices, it is the place. You order at the counter and everything is delivered ready to go--take out is a huge part of the audience. But there is a covered picnic table area if you want to eat there. And I recommend staying in place if you order the barbecue potato--really nicely done large baked potato covered with meat and sauce. Truly melt in the mouth quality. Fountain drinks only. Leave room for the banana pudding or take it to go--really great dish!

If you like fall off the bone ribs, this is the place to go! I've tried their pulled pork and chicken. Both were good but the ribs are hands down the best. The sides are the usual baked beans, slaw, potato salad, or chips. They also have brisket, nachos, hot dogs, and sandwiches. Desserts are usually banana pudding , peach cobbler, or pecan pie. They have shaved ice, though I haven't tried it. The staff here is usually friendly and service is fast. Give them a visit and give those ribs a try. Don't forget to ask for extra bbq sauce.

This little bbq joint in Clanton sits just off the interstate and is a quick, easy, no frills spot to grab a good meal and a great price. It's pretty much a small shed of a building with only 2 or 3 tables inside and a few outside. The menu isn't expansive and they aren't trying to do 100 things. They just seem to do the 1 thing, making good bbq, and they seem to do it pretty well. Only a few sides available...beans, greens, chips, potato salad and not much more. But from my experience the things they did have were pretty good. The sauce was a little spicy, but the pork was nice and moist and didn't require a lot of sauce for it to be good. The sweet tea was very, very sweet. Overall a good place to get a solid meal at a price that's more than fair. Don't hesitate to give them a try if you're headed down 65 and looking for a quick bite.

Pulled off I-65 looking for a quick meal and my husband was craving BBQ. Ordered jumbo sandwich and side of slaw. Since we were in Clanton, Alabama's peach heaven I added a peach cobbler. Three ladies went to work and in less than 5 minutes I had a bagful of goodness. Sandwiches were good with just enough sauce not to drip down my shirt. Husband said the slaw was the best he ever ate and he and I are picky slaw consumers. I also ate every bite. Hardly had room for cobbler, but took a bite, then another because it was REAL good. Don't let the lack of ambiance fool you, even though it's carry out only served in a shack you'll find it worth the stop. Take a pic of the water tower while you are there.

Let's face it, if by random chance you find yourself in Clanton, AL like me for work, you don't have many BBQ options. This place is. never going to win any awards but it will suffice for the area. Not bad. But I'm also a spoiled BBQ connoisseur that has had the best before. read more

A hidden gem off 65! So glad we stopped on our long road trip. Top notch food. We ordered the family platter pork dinner, two sides, and four drinks (plus a piece of pie). We loved everything and were stuffed! Reasonably priced. Quick and friendly service. Outdoor seating or delivery right to your vehicle. Traveling South to Gulf Shores and craving bbq....thanks to Yelp, we scored great food! We sat on the patio and enjoyed pork bbq, nachos, potato salad and baked beans...everything was delicious. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the 4 of us like different types of sauce and there was only one option (sweet)...would prefer to have variety. In conclusion, definitely worth the trip and we will definitely stop again when in the area! read more

Def a no frills bbq joint pretty near the 65 interstate. Limited menu, but yum. We had bbq sandwich meal w 2 sides for 4 for around 20$. They give you a healthy generous serving of pork. We were able to get 6 sandwiches out of it. We always order the baked beans and potato salad. Extremely nice folks working there. Very small dine in area, larger covered outdoor area. Again,very small not fancy looking but the pulled pork is fab. Wish we lived closer we would go more, but we do hit it up 2-3x/year when headed south. read more

We just stopped by and enjoyed eating BBQ outside. This is more of a take out place, but the food is great including peach cobbler and banana pudding. We bought more BBQ to take home. Owners are very nice. We will be back. read more

DONT' JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!! We visited this afternoon for lunch while passing thru on our way home from vacation. Some might pass on this restaurant because it doesn't have the elegant outside that draws a crowd, but they would be missing out. We had the BBQ pork sandwich plate with potato salad and loved it. So much that my son and I had to go back for a second sandwich. We finished that off with some banana pudding that will quite frankly, make your tongue smack your brains. If you are the type of person that has to be seated by a hostess and sit at matching tables and chairs, don't bother. However if you really enjoy good food that is being served by people who love and care how it tastes, this place if for you. Try the banana pudding, TRUST ME!!! read more

Stopped to get gas off the exit and while looking around realized been there before, so drove down and there it was just as thought, so had to stop as had been there a few years ago while traveling. Friendly people and good food, would recommend for sure, prices are good as well! Only thing could be better is if they had homemade chips instead of Lays, based off the other food know they'd be great to. read more

Stopped in for some Bar B Que. I was pleasantly waited on and advised of her favorites. I went with the ribs and was extremely happy with the fall off the bone ribs done with dry rub. I was even more delighted with the BBQ sauce. Two thumbs up! read more

Just got my Fourth of July slab of ribs for my family here, and it was absolutely perfect. They brought it right out to me in less than a minute, and it was fall-off-the-bone tender, but not too melty to eat like normal! I don't know if it was seasoned well, but it was absolutely wonderful even without the generous amount of awesome sauce they put on the side. Great ribs! read more

Go here expecting great BBQ, sides, and dessert!!! Do not; however, expect a fine dinning experience. This is one of those places that is in business because the food quality is superb. I highly recommend the ribs, potato salad, and beans as that is what I had on my first (and only so far) visit. I shared a slab with my 13 year old and my wife had a pork plate that she shared with the 10 year old. They enjoyed theirs as well, but absolutely tore up the banana pudding!!! Note that there is limited indoor seating (seats 10). There is outdoor seating as well but it is Alabama so it is hit and miss on heat and flies. read more

The vegetables tasted like they had been sitting mixed together for a while, almost as if they'd been combined days earlier, so the individual flavors were hard to distinguish. The staff were pleasant and polite, though the service felt a little low-energy. On the positive side, the price was decent and fair for the amount of food. Overall, some items were definitely enjoyable, especially the baked spaghetti, chicken tenders, and bread, but the salad and slightly bland service kept the experience from being outstanding.

Server didn't know the cut of beef they were serving as smoked meat. Allegedly was brisket but was roast beef smoked way too long where it was tougher than jerky. Ribs were super fatty. Ambiance was very old and dated.
