My sister and I were in town for an event and decided to give Neighborhood grill & catering a try for a late lunch. It didnt disappoint. Upon walking in we were greeted by a host and were seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and well kept. My sister ordered the chicken thumbs with coleslaw and fries. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with buffalo sauce and fruit. Our waitress was very nice. The chicken thumbs were juicy and crunchy. My wrap and sauce was spicy and fresh. They also have a rotating special menus that include and Italian night, Wing night, and specials on fresh seafood and Grade A steaks! Bad experience! ordered a burger as Ware as they could do it and it came out well done. It made me another one. It was the same way. They told me I wouldn't have to pay for it. Moved to Clanton about 2 months ago and had driven by this place several times and heard good things! Finally gave them a try for curbside pickup tonight and after tasting my food wished I had come here much sooner! Ordered Cajun Shrimp and Grits with fried mushrooms appetizer. The shrimp were cooked perfectly not rubbery or chewy just right. The dish also came with thinly sliced polish sausage and plenty of cheesy grits seasoned well. My mushrooms were cooked just right too and coated in a flaky batter some of the best I've ever eaten. The order was ready in 18 minutes even though the restaurant was hopping busy being a Friday night. Nice curbside delivery staff. I'll definitely be back to try other items from their menu! Looking for a family-friendly (quite popular) place? You'll find it here...along with friendly and courteous staff, good food, lively ambience (lots of tvs with a couple games on). They smartly tried to pace the number of guests - I assume so as to not overwhelm kitchen staff or servers - so one section of the restaurant was not being used (the booth area near entrance). BUT I personally applaud them for that smart management. Servers and support staff hustled all the time we were there! Kudos to them. Food was ordered and delivered to our table in a very reasonable amount of time considering that the place was very full. My Philly (style) beef wrap had great flavors...but chunks of beef as opposed to shredded/sliced didn't make the mark...nor did my asking for it to be served rare-medium. It cam well done, so was a bit tough. The house-made Sweet-Siracha sauce on side was Dynamite-Delicious!!! Fries were excellent - hot, crispy, savory. Grilled chicken had good flavor, but a bit dry - again, as might be expected for this part of the bird. Side of broccoli was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Sweet potato mash was super! Lighting is really good, they've got multiple screens up for sports, place is very clean, and the staff is genuinely friendly! It's not loud so you can have a conversation. I got the neighborhood cheeseburger, and I asked them to cut it in half for me. They did, and oh my goodness it was so delicious! Clanton is a place where there are lots and lots of BBQ joints, and not that many of any other kinds of restaurant. This place fills a definite need in the area. I never thought I'd say this, but you can only eat so much BBQ and eventually you've got to have something else, and Neighborhood Grill is the spot to get that something else. Burgers, wings, cheese grits, slices of pie, sandwiches whatever you need they've got it and they do a good job of keeping it fresh and making sure that the food is good. It's a nice, clean, laid back environment with good service and plenty of menu options for everyone. They have seating indoors and out and TVs for watching the game. Overall a good spot that fills the need for a bar and grill type place in this small town. Definitely worth a try. read more

We are new to Clanton and have stopped in at the Neighborhood Grill a couple times now. Service is sometimes slow but with the number of TV's and great companions you don't notice it much. I had the shrimp and he had the Cheeseburger, both were served with fries. The shrimp was deep fried and several of my shrimp were not de-veined, but the owner was making his rounds checking on his customers and was so attentive to his customers that he realized I had not eaten all of my shrimp. We had already paid for it, and he asked why I didn't eat them, and I told him that several had not been de-veined, he immediately gave me a gift card for the purchase of my dinner, even though I did not request it, I even tried to stop him. But he made it right! We will come back again and again based on that one experience. It wasn't his fault that the company that sold him the shrimp missed a few shrimp in the processing plant, yet he took responsibility and insisted that he reimburse me for the entire dinner. When an owner is involved with their customers satisfaction, and can see small things like this, it makes the difference between a good company and a great company!! Well done sir!! On our travels home from Spring Break, we decided to drive up through the panhandle and on toward Birmingham, Alabama for the night. As the GPS started to show lots of slow downs and accidents, the guys started to grumble. I know what happens when they get hangry so I pulled up Yelp. We stumbled upon this place after another local place didn't have anything our gluten free son could eat. We ordered the onion petals to start. (Not GF - sorry, kid.) The portion was generous and they were very tasty. For dinner, we ordered the chicken thumbs with coleslaw and the red beans and rice to share. Both were fresh and delicious. Our son got the grilled chicken platter with half a grilled potato. The Cajun seasoning was just to his liking. My husband saw that they had homemade butterscotch Toll house pie so he couldn't say no to dessert. His words? "Just like Mom used to make!" Highest praise available. None of us went away hungry and we got to avoid the bad Friday night traffic jams that had amassed on the highway into Birmingham. To top it off, the service was efficient and super friendly. I joined the Calera Eats! page on Facebook after seeing from another vendor that this group is responsible for Food Truck Frenzy. I decided to take a shot at the Cajun Alfredo w/chicken from Neighborhood Grill. My rating is based on the portion size of the meal and and the fact that if they would tone down on the spices, it would be an excellent meal. Me and some of fellow Soldiers decided to come here for lunch, as we hadn't been before. The restaurant looked nice inside and at least a dozen TVs to watch sports and all, it definitely had an great atmosphere. My fellow Soldiers had ordered the fried fish special, which looked and tasted delicious, the fries and hushpuppies were great also, I had ordered a 5pc sweet sriracha bone in wings with the fries and they were cooked crispy enough and had enough sauce on them. We had spoke to one of the owners about catering to our unit, to find out that they already do, it's just the food we receive for the unit is different due to them having to cook in bulk. my husband and I LOVE eating at Neighborhood grill! The food is always so good. The fried fish plate is our go-to because the fish is always fried perfectly. my only complaint is that they got rid of the garlic mashed potatoes as a side! That was the best side they had on the menu. The waitress recommended the loaded baked potato instead which was good but has nothing on their homemade garlic mash. Wish they'd consider adding that back on their menu. highly recommend this place though! read more

I'm in Alabama visiting some friends and we decided to meet up at Neighborhood Grill for dinner last night. It was amazing. They were busy but not crowded. Their tables were spaced for social distancing. The staff were all very friendly and polite. The food was amazing. The menu was big but not overwhelming and there were so many things I wanted to try. I went with the fried pork chop with loaded fries and loaded mac & cheese (both of these sides were premium sides so they cost a little more but well worth it) and it was amazing. The portion sizes were the perfect amount so I was able to finish but didn't still feel hungry once I was done. I definitely intend to go back so I can try more of their delicious food. read more
