    raw pizza burger

ordered a pizza burger and bit into it when i got home and it was very undercooked. pretty much still raw. never ordered food before only ice cream so now I'm a bit skeptical to do that again.

I had the BLT which was decent, but the portion was small. This alone would not be enough for a meal. The bacon and cheese fries were alright, I liked how the fries were crispy, but the cheese was meh and I was disappointed that they used fake bacon. There is limited outdoor seating and lots of parking spots, but there are only 15 or so spots in the shade. I was here on a Tuesday at lunch time and had no issues with finding a spot in the shade, but service was very slow since there was only one person working. Also note that they charge 50 cents for paying with a card. Overall it's an alright place if you're looking for fast food, but service might be slow.

Under the awning where you park for curb service.

I was riding around Rochester a few days ago, and when we passed B&K, we decided to stop for a spell. It wasn't super busy but business seemed steady for being an early weekday afternoon. Some of the customers appeared to be on lunch in their work trucks. Others were lone couples and mothers with kids. B&K had some shaded outdoor booth tables as well as a couple of tables in the sun with folded umbrellas. We, like most present, stayed in the car. After looking over the pretty extensive menu, we pushed the speaker button to place our order. Since our speaker wasn't working its best, they sent a carhop out. I almost never have pop anymore for the past decade, but I could not pass up getting the Green River I saw on the menu. I'd not seen that outside of the Chicago area before, and it had been years since I had one. Made me happy as a kid again for a while. My friend had a butterscotch milkshake. It was delicious. The large Green River was close to $3. It was in a 32 oz styrofoam cup with a cool and very wide neon green straw. I'd probably go medium in the future. The shake wasn't as big and was nearly $4 but seemed worth it. We shared the veggie basket which consisted of breaded cauliflower, breaded mushrooms, and two breaded cheese sticks. Our waitress brought out a cup of mustard for me and a cup of ranch for my friend. The cauliflower was really good, as were the cheese sticks which were sturdy, loaded with thick cheese and heavy for their size. My favorite were the mushrooms which were sliced and breaded. I'd not had them that way before, but it really worked! No biting into a whole mushroom that would burst and burn you. Everything in the basket was crisp and not soggy. Definitely made in house. The size made it a perfect snack for two. And it cost $4.99. Our snack and drinks cost close to $13 not including tip. I was a bit disappointed later to see on the receipt they charge $0.50 if you use a card to pay. We'd been asked if we were doing cash or card but no mention of a charge was explained. I think its kind of crappy to pass that cost onto the customer myself. Everything was really good, but it's on the pricey side. Some items are better deals than others. (I saw six Coney dogs for ten bucks, for example.) I liked the atmosphere under the awning complete with yellow fluorescent lights running across. Another building out back also said "B&K" on it, but I'm not sure what that is utilized for. The restroom is a tiny closet just inside a back door near the kitchen. It was a bit awkward going in, as it felt like I was in an employee only area, but I'm glad the facility was available. It was cluttered and covered with Route 66 decor and seemed decently clean. FYI, no wheelchairs are fitting in here. I am told B&K is only open during the Summer season. It has a huge menu which includes hand dipped ice cream and sounds far better than going to DQ down the street. It is closely located to a public beach/park area, and I'm sure it's hopping on hot Summer nights. Service wasn't bad but not stellar. The food was fantastic. I'd go four stars for the food and availability of Green River, though I lean towards three because of the credit card fee that wasn't disclosed. And, not to toot my own horn, but I tip well, so the hidden fifty cent charge ticked me off. The food and drinks are mainly why I would return. And a tip to you: You might need reading glasses to see the menu.
