Please ignore all the 3-star reviews, I travel a lot and this is a wonderful place to stop. First, very personable staff. Warm and welcoming, clean, decor and seating needs replaced in some areas. The food was excellent, large flavoring dishes, pictured is the baked potato soup: very creamy and full of potatoes, celery and perfectly seasoned. The second picture is their roast beef Manhattan and boy was it tender, packed with savory gravy and smooth mashed potato's. The last pic is of my server Brayden. He kept our drinks full, made sure everything was delicious and we were amazed at his professionalism. Very reasonably priced!! Love it here!! We arrived about 12:30 and saw that the parking lot was almost totally full; so we thought that was a good sign. Clean restrooms and dining area with nice comfortable decor.Only waited about 10 min to be seated. Friendly server took our order quickly and the food came promptly. My chicken panini with bacon and cheese was very good. Sweet potato fries had a little sugar added which I don't care for. My grandson's kid's meal chicken fingers were enough for an adult; 3 huge fingers and a large helping of fries. Daughter in law liked her wrap and server was timely with drink refills. 4.5 overall. The morning after completing a marathon on crazy muddy trails in Albion, Indiana, the reward comes with Pancakes! Or at least with a drizzle of honey and syrup to go with. My local friend who lives in Warsaw took me to the American Table restaurant, which was a particularly popular place in Warsaw, Indiana. Popular especially on a Sunday morning. We were there around 8:45am and it was jumping. Not sure if this is a town where people come after Sunday church or not, but there are people here for late breakfast or brunch. With that said, it was nice to not wait too long for a table. Probably maybe 2 minutes before the hostess had located a table then we walked to the middle of the restaurant and sat in a booth. We even wore our finisher medals to this breakfast experience, but nobody really batted an eye. The menu was pretty basic and it reminded me of an IHOP, Denny's, or Bob Evans, or just somewhere that specializes in breakfasts. We spent about an hour here before paying for the bill and headed out to explore downtown Warsaw that morning. It was a nice beginning to a Sunday that only the day before was in Albion running thru muddy trails. All in all, a great weekend to be here in NE Indiana for sure. The overall experience here at the American Table restaurant here in Warsaw, Indiana was good and casual. My friend and I ordered more than we usually do, since we did a thing yesterday in Abion. That surely brings out the tiger appetite that comes with running a marathon or beyond. I'm not sure what my friend ordered, but I ordered the steak and eggs, since I usually get that while traveling. It tasted so much better and rewarding since the run event was behind me instead of ahead of me. The order came with pancakes, so that was delightful and I also ordered a side order of corned beef hash. I also ordered a glass of orange juice, which was refilled twice and that was nice. The steak was decidedly good and decent, although not a true steakhouse steak cut, but it was the perfect size for breakfast. It was also nice to have corned beef hash. Pretty sure it came out from a can, but never can tell how people cook these days. Still, it was delicious and definitely did hit the spot. Everything tasted perfectly. The ambiance could have been more quieter on a Sunday morning, but I guess that's how it is here in these parts. As far as parking goes, there's plenty of parking here for those who drive. Not sure about public transportation in Warsaw, although you're more than likely will need a private car. There are Uber/Lyft services in the area, so you could do that if you need to. It was refreshing to be here. Hidden gem if you're in the area. Definitely recommended for breakfast. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 3.5 stars for the prices, 4.5 stars for the ambiance. 5.0 stars for the food. 4.0 stars for the service and location. Still our favorite place on US 30 to stop for a meal while driving through northern IN. The secret is out about this little gem of a diner. It was packed at lunchtime on a Thursday! Hubby ordered a gyro (pronounced "year-oh", even though the waitress called it a "jie-roh") with onion rings. He said the gyro was ok but the onion rings were the best he's had anywhere! Very crispy with nice sized chunks of onion inside. I enjoyed a half Reuben with their sauerkraut soup. Today's soup was cream based. I prefer broth based but it was still very tasty. read more

I have been dining at American Table for over 20 years. This is my absolute favorite restaurant for breakfast!! The omelets are delicious and filling. The hash browns are some of the best anywhere!! They have a homemade hot sauce that perfectly compliments an omelette or hash browns. The biscuits and gravy breakfast is also one of my factories. Whenever I have a breakfast or lunch business meeting, American Table is my first choice! The atmosphere is conducive to conversations. The meal choices are vast. Portion sizes are plentiful. Stopped here for breakfast on our way home from Bluffton, IN to Chicago. We were so glad we did. All 3 of us loved our breakfast choices. See the photos I posted. The American potatoes were so good. I could tell they were fresh potatoes, not preshreded potatoes. The restaurant is so clean. The bathrooms are immaculate. The only thing that slightly irked me was that they do not take Discover Card. We had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant on Sunday, August 9, 2020. The food is good however there is conflicting requirements for cover 19 restrictions. Currently the state of Indiana requires that all people wear a mask when in public. However stated on their information board in the waiting area it is recommended but not required. Sadly the idea of social distancing of 6 feet or greater between tables was not utilized nor was patrons required to mask up. I don't know that I will return to this restaurant until after the covered 19 pandemic is over. Great food however I'm not going to risk my health just to get a good meal at this restaurant. If they follow the state guidelines I will be more than happy to return. read more

Very pleased we chose this place to have breakfast! It was a Memorial Day and I was a bit skeptical when we went in because they were super busy but we didn't have to wait at all to be seated. Our waitress appeared as soon as we were seated and took our drink order, returned quickly with our drinks and took our food order. Our breakfasts were served in under 10 minutes and everything was delicious. The portions were very plentiful and the prices very reasonable. I observed while we were eating that for as busy as they were, everything seemed to run very smoothly and everyone worked together to get things done in an efficient manner. I can only give 4 stars based off around 6 meals here. I will say lunch is generally 5 stars: their soups are homemade, sandwiches are excellent, and sides are delicious. Today I had Reuben Sliders and cottage cheese: perfect for lunch! My wife had the same with sweet potato fries and loved it. We took a detour from Syracuse, Indiana to here on way back to Chicago because not much open Sunday morning for breakfast in Syracuse. Glad we took this detour. Food was delicious, server Stephani was very good and checked on us several times. Even though lots of people waiting outside for table, thought we would be waiting 45 minutes for a table, but since just two of us, the hostess said about ten minutes for a table and that is about how long we waited for a table. They have a great system when you wait for a table, they give you your number vocally and then you just wait to hear it called. Will for sure come back here when in the area. read more

We really appreciate the option of a TRUE veggie omelet here. We always come for breakfast when we're in town from Chicago. Aforementioned omelet has spinach, broccoli, onions, etc and is nicely done. Potatoes and coffee are solid. Really good, simple pancakes ... fluffy and just right. Not a lot of good breakfast options in Warsaw where you don't have to haul in your own contraband bag of spinach and so, we will be back to American Table for sure. I've been going to American Table since I was about 3. They have some of the best breakfast in town and the portions are huge, so you'll always have leftovers! We are frequently on the road in Indiana and this morning came across this place . The service is fast our waitress very pleasant the coffee however is very very weak . Drinkable but weak. Wow service , I'm writing this as we await our food , is incredibly fast .My husband an Indiana native just gave the biscuits and gravy a 9 out of ten my eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were COOKED something that doesn't often seem to happen.
