Rick's crew installed stone walkways, built 4'x8' redwood planter boxes, and constructed trellises for vines and flowering shrubs. The crew members are hardworking and efficient; It is clear they care about their work. Chris, the crew lead, is a skilled craftsman who can build a variety of architectural landscape features. The column looks even better than it did before the delivery truck knocked it off its base! The repair was complicated because there was electrical conduit running thru the column. Sergio did a great job of clearing the old stone and mortar from around the base to expose the electrical conduit so the electrician could repair it. He's a master of the classic stonework we all know at wineries in the North Bay. But I wanted something totally different, in many ways the opposite of how things are done here. I wanted Japanese style masonry work. Japan has a history of stonework dating back as early as Europe's. Methods are different, grout lines aren't filled all the way, rocks sometimes extend into a walking space to simulate nature. Could Bobby do it? Yes! And he loved the challenge and excelled at it.
