He is a professional, to the point, and very knowledgeable. He took all of my concerns into consideration and planned accordingly. He was communicative through the project as well. And…read moreso, when we had wood rot on our balcony beam replaced, I was not excited to get it figured out. I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work. It's really nice to have a good contractor in our back pocket.

The scope was extensive, including entirely new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical throughout and we are thrilled with the results. As someone who works with many contractors professionally, I was particularly impressed by Anthony's "open-book" transparency and honesty. If you want a builder who prioritizes integrity and craftsmanship, I highly recommend MCD. Thank you, Anthony!

They are the real deal; the workmanship is top-notch and their prices are totally fair. We had the inevitable project speed bumps, like unknown structural issues or 80 year-old plumbing issues; but Anthony and has team were quick to come up with solutions, and they were able to work with me to keep additional costs under control. We had no issues with any sub-contractors and were just as pleased with their work. He's chosen some great people to partner with. Even though the the project is now complete, Anthony has committed to coming back for a couple very minor follow-ups. 10/10, highly recommend and would definitely work with again.

He walked us through every step of the process, and was always available for every question or concern that we had. Some contractors take a day or two to return your calls. Not Phil (or his wife, Michelle). He would either pick up immediately, or call us back in a few hours. He was always transparent, and willing to explain everything in great detail. His guys are fabulous to work with, and are such hard workers. Their craftsmanship and care for their work really shows. He also stands by his work. When we had an issue with some water leakage, he came immediately to fix it and covered all of the expenses. Hire Phil. You won't regret it. You won't get a flaky contractor. His work is beautiful, and we love our new home.

The workers abruptly stopped after noticing some damaged wood under the carpet. I called Phillip at Howard Construction. Huge thanks to Howard Construction - who I will be using for any construction work, large or small, going forward.

Cross boards are inconsisten, some not cut at the correct angle, many not making any contact. There are nails that completely miss the wood, the pedestrian gate hardware broke immediately. The driveway gate (cheap cattle gate) began to sag the following week-he said he would replace it with a quality gate and would reinforce the gate posts. Rather than cutting the boards to the correct size when going over redwood roots, they ran a skill saw along the top of the fence boards, in a very uneven line. The entire job was horrible. When we brought these issues to Jason's attention (he was not on the job once after doing the estimate), he assured us that he would fix/ replace all of the issues. Then, the excuses began (from he and his wife-office manager): he had fired the 2 men that had done our job and was shorthanded. He injured a leg and needed surgery. He had an infection in his lungs- then a spot on his lungs...it went on and on for more than 2 years. Still, he has not fixed a single issue! Find someone else! Brian presented himself, when asked by my Agent, as someone experienced in plumbing work. He replaced the plumbing connections on top of the water heater; however, the unit continued to leak afterward. He was on-site for over eight hours that day. More than four of those hours were spent at Home Depot, and the remaining time was used working on the water heater plumbing. I later hired a licensed plumber from a professional plumbing company, who advised that the job should have taken approximately two hours, that incorrect parts had been used, and that the work had been performed improperly and unprofessionally. During one of his Home Depot trips, he was sent to purchase gutters for the house but instead returned with a large box of miscellaneous items (at least 20 insignificant items) that had not been approved or discussed. These items totaled over $400!!! There is no justification for treating someone else's money that way, with no regard for their approval or expectations. To make it better, he stated that he had used a friend's military discount card as if that was a good thing. The gutters were never purchased and when I returned the items to Home Depot, I only received a reduced refund, resulting in an additional financial loss. I asked him if the discount was charged back to his card and he said "no"??? I also observed him spend approximately four hours making a minor repair and painting the front door, which further raised concerns about the efficiency and quality of the work being performed. Overall, a significant amount of time was wasted, the quality of work was below standard, and I incurred unnecessary big expense as a result. The experience was extremely disappointing and resulted in both financial loss and delays in preparing the home for sale. He also left several tools at my home and said he would return after Memorial Day to collect them? Seriously? As a single woman in my 60s, I found this situation inappropriate and unsettling for numerous reasons.
