Life in Arizona is hard enough, but especially as a Black woman. I don't know what type of ghetto, racist bullshit they pull at this nail salon but this was the worst salon I've ever been to. I came here with my friend, who just happens to be white and not only did she get serviced almost an entire hour before me while they "tried to find someone available" but she and I intended on having the same service. But I downgraded my plan after fighting with this woman who looked like she really didn't want to do my nails and then repeatedly pushed a color I didn't want at all for me to wear and ignored me when I asked her to change the color to the one I selected. What's worse, the water from the foot spa got ice cold, and there was no sanitation bag provided and I didn't see them clean the basin. Also, did they run out of toe separators? Because the paper towel between them wasn't cutting it for me. Glad I tried it, I definitely do not recommend and will not be patronizing them again in the future. Oh, did. My daughter and I stopped in to get our nails done and they did a great job. My daughter had to be at work by a certain time and she let the lady that was doing her nails know this. Due to the language barrier she didn't understand that we had to leave at a certain time. When we explained, Kim, a sweet young lady, jumped into action and was able to finish the job so we could leave on time and not be late to work. Her nails looked great. I didn't want to write this bad review but after thinking it over decided to speak. I've been to this nail salon a few times before and other times I had a good experience, in particular with the younger female nail tech with a long pony tail. I went yesterday for a French tip gel mani & pedi & long story short I left with 4 overcut cuticles that bled on and off for the rest of the day. The woman who did my pedi was sweet overall, most importantly she did a Good Job with my nails. The lady who did my pedicure - I almost called to get her name, but my intention is not for this review to affect hers or the salons business - but instead to make it better. She used the drill to cut my cuticles. Ok. My thumb cuticle had a bit of extra dead skin and was still slanted after she used the drill so I simply just asked about my thumb nail ... She told me she was going to cut it again later. Ok my mani was still going good and enjoyable and relaxing... After I've put my nails in the light and they're all cured she began to cut my cuticles a bit more... all of them. My opposite thumb nail she over cut and it started bleeding. She laughed and said "oops but see I cut the cuticle". When she said that, then I had a little feeling that she did It on purpose. I am kind. I understand a nail tech can make a mistake and accidentally over cut a cuticle... but I also feel like the Best Nail Techs - don't. So already this is showing me her skill level. Later about an hour after I left the nail salon I noticed 4 of my other nails were bleeding. I'm feeling over them now and yes... 4, almost half of my fingers, have paper cut feeling cuts on them from this nail techs lack of skill or ill intent... Again, if it was just an accident it's completely ok... even though it also is 4 of my fingers that are overcut and hurting still a day later - so this does speak to her skill level, period. But if this woman cut my cuticles on purpose just because as a paying customer, who also tipped you afterwards, I just wanted to double check on my own nails........... what's goes around comes around. Not wishing it, just knowing it. And I wrote this review to remind others, some people, in any environment, do seem kind and sweet but are petty & not really nice... I'm tired of nail salons not valuing the customer and making us feel like we can't have a say in how you do our nails ... makes no sense to me. If I were a nail salon owner, I'd look into this before it starts making no cents for you. read more

I was in Tucson for Vacation and made appointments for pedicures for my boyfriend and I. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My boyfriends foot was bleeding after the technician scraped too much skin from his heel. His nail on the same foot was also bleeding from being trimmed to short. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They are inconsistent in their quality of work and do not respect their clients. The first time I went there, I was a walk-in. They are near my dentist and I needed a dip. So I dropped in to see if they could take me. Lana did my nails. She did a beautiful job. I received compliments on my nails and I recommended B&L to others. The second time I went there, Lana did my nails again, same color. Her work wasn't so good. There was unevenness (waves), pits (like air bubbles had burst) and the shape was wrong. But I went along because no one should be getting so close to my nails that they can see the pits and waves. I reshaped the tips myself. The third time I wanted my nails blue. I chose a dark almost navy blue. I had a different technician this time. The color she chose to use was more of a periwinkle. I pointed out that it wasn't the color I chose. She said it was because it had the same number, and that it would get darker (that's a theme with them). But it did not get darker because it was not the color I'd chosen. They had misnumbered either the display book or the dip powder jar. At the end of her work, all her coworkers repeatedly said "pretty color" like a supporting chorus. I accepted it. It wasn't what I'd chosen but it was blue and I don't mind periwinkle. The fourth time I went I wanted a dip and a pedicure, and wanted the same color on my fingernails and toenails. I chose sort of a mauvish-wine color. This was a different technician than from before. She used the color I'd chosen on my fingernails, but on my toes she used a chocolatey color. Not the same colors. I couldn't tell right away that the colors were different because of the lighting, and I couldn't put my fingers next to my toes (I'm old, okay?). I think they were counting on that. She put the dip so thinly on my nails that it was wearing off the tips the next day. I just kept filing them back until I got a chip and in to get a fresh dip. The "fresh dip" was yesterday, March 15th, and is the final visit to their salon. Lana was available to do the dip. I chose a shade of red that I liked. When she opened the jar, I commented that it looked pink. She replied it would get darker. After the first application I commented that it was not the color I'd chosen. She said it was because the numbers were the same. (Their theme!) I replied that either the jar or the display is numbered wrong. She said she had two more coats to do and it would get darker. Second coat, I pointed out again that it was pink. She said she had another coat to do and when she is done she would make it red for me. She tried to make it sound like it was my fault that the colors didn't match because I chose that number and the numbers were the same. The top of the jar had the number written on it, and I suggested that someone misnumbered the jar. She showed me the bottom of the jar had the same number. (I suspect they're buying dip powder in bulk and reusing the jars.) She says the owners order from the manufacturer and the manufacturer said it's not 100%. I guess she's saying that they're buying cheap unregulated and unreliable product and aren't sure about its quality. She said it's not her fault. And I agree. If she did not mislabel it, then it is not her fault. But it is her responsibility to use the color her customer chose. She said that she didn't change it when I pointed out it was wrong because some customers just say it's okay. I told her I don't like pink. Beside, I wanted red. Meanwhile, she is filing my nail with all her might, cutting into my cuticle. Even after I indicated it hurt she didn't stop. Instead she dug her nail into the cut. I think she did it on purpose to punish me for complaining. After the third coat of dip powder, she painted my nails red with a gel polish. Not the same shade I'd chosen, but it wasn't pink. I paid for the work and even tipped her, but I will not be back. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and Arizona licensing board read more

He was really messy with the acrylic that I'm still taking it off till now. He didn't shape them right and didn't make sure they where the same size as the other had and as I told him that they were bumpy he continued to add gel even tho I said I didn't want gel. I needed a new salon since I moved to a different part of town. B&L was close by so I did a little research and the reviews on Yelp and Google sounded amazing so I decided to give it a try. I came in on a Saturday at 12:15pm, was told to sign in and come back in an hour, so I did. I came back at 1:20 and still had to wait 25 minutes before I was seated in a pedicure chair. After that, it was 15 minutes before someone actually started my pedicure. I kept thinking, "The reviews sound great, maybe it'll be worth the wait." Let me tell you, the pedicure definitely was. The technician didn't do a great job of shaping but everything else was AMAZING. The massage, the scrub, the attention to detail on the polish, everything else. So I thought, "Ok if the manicure is this good, then this will be definitely worth it and I would get the hype." Unfortunately, the manicure was a huge letdown. The shape of each nail was different, it was rushed, the massage was less than a minute and the paint was not even. I had to point out a few mistakes. They also don't have OPI and CND, which I think are common selections at nail salons. Even the brands that they do have are limited in color offerings. So because of the wait time (I even had to wait 15 min between the pedi and mani), the color selection, and quality of the mani, I don't think I'll be a regular. I might come back for a pedi with the same person and with an appointment, but yea, definitely won't be a regular. read more
