I can't attest to the quality of their work because they never called me back! I texted the number first, telling them that I wanted a quote for a new fence...no response. A few days later I called the number and I asked if he received my text from a few days ago. He said yes, then was interrupted by another phone call and he said he would call me back. Never heard from him again so I would never use this company for that reason. I just added photos showing proof of text, contact info, dates. I am now seeing that others have had the same experience as mine! I'm still searching for a fence company to replace our entire fence with 2 gates but it looks like I dodged a bullet on this company! Martin and his team did a fantastic job on my mother-in-law's fence in Palos Verdes. I needed to manage the project remotely and his communications were superb as well as his professionalism handling some unwarranted complaints from the neighbor. B&M came recommended from a home builder in the area whom I trust, so no surprise his work was top rate. He was right on time for our pre-construction meeting as well as providing a competitive estimate promptly. This has been the worst experience ever. We allowed this company to put a fence up 2 weeks ago and it's already broken the front of the front gate is scrapping the ground which is causing the gate not to close, the latch has come loose the fence is not level, the back gate is not level the front is higher then the back. We have call them back out, they came looked at the issues and promise to come back out and correct it but have not returned and now will not answer any of our calls or texts. I'M SHARING THIS TO KEEP OTHER FROM A BAD EXPERIENCE I normally check reviews before purchasing but when I looked them up they had no reviews so I thought to give them chance. I hate to post a negative review but truth be told, Martin has promised several times, for several months, to honor the warranty on my gates and gate locks yet he has not fixed them. (They failed after 60 days). He was quick to complete the job but he has not honored his warranty or his promises to fix the problems. He is nice, he always makes the promise, but now after several excuses for not showing up I am beginning to question his business practices. I damaged a neighbor's chain-link fence. Fortunately for me I was referred by a great Torrance realtor to call Martin at B&M. Martin replied immediately, next day quote and fixed the damage I did one day later for a reasonable price. Martin arrived early and was done within a few hours. The crew left the site immaculate and the work was fantastic!! As a matter of fact, my neighbor's fence looks better now than when the original work was done. How is that is even possible, must be because of Martin and his crew's skills! I have 2 more projects for the chain-link fencing on my property and I will be working with B&M, Martin, and his crew for these future jobs! We needed a 14' extension of our existing fence. We called Martin and he came out and heard what we wanted. He did a measurement and said he could fit it in between larger jobs. Fair enough. He said he would send us a quote. He never did and never returned my wife's several calls. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. read more

I have not had much luck with contractors and certainly few that I would ever recommend, but I would recommend B&M Fence. They built a beautiful redwood gate and fence. The owner, Martin, can be taken at his word. Anyone who has dealt with contractors understands this one, and knows how important it is that they say what they are gonna do, and do what they say. As I had such a negative experience the first time with B&M I was just searching for another fencing company when I discovered the owner's response, written three months after the fact, to a review I had previously written. To put it as nicely as I can, the response contains liberties with the truth. The business owner stated "This (review) came to a surprise to me as Frank appeared to be happy with the work and communication throughout the fence project." Through calls and face to face communication I had on several occasions voiced my displeasure about the delays. When his crew constructed a right angle corner of the fence with one section 2 FEET HIGHER than an intersecting section rather than sloping it to the same elevation I expressed to him my displeasure and amazement that they would think this was acceptable work. Also, when I later pointed out to him that with very little pressure on the top of the fencing sections of the fence could be moved 4-6" from the center line he tried to convince me that every fence has "flex" and I agreed that a small variance, say 1-2 inches, might be acceptable but this large degree was not. Both of these structural issues were fixed at my insistence, but having been through numerous contractors on multiple projects, my sense was that I was hearing a standard refrain that I had heard from the few contractors that have been problematic. This goes "It looks fine to me, the problem must be with you". As to the delay in moving into the house which cost me an additional month's lease at a rental, arrangements had been made with the interior contractor and things were set to go but having no fence for our dogs delayed our move. Finally, as I gave him the business owner a final check which included payment for the materials for a temporary fence (which will have to now be replaced) and a portion of the labor to build it, I told him (almost an exact quote here) that I was not happy and to not even think of using me as a reference. As I stated before I am hesitant to write negative reviews but as a newcomer to the area I rely on Yelp and feel it important a to recognize businesses that do good work and those that do not. read more

I talked to owner, Martin, about constructing vinyl fence on top of a retaining wall. He impressed me with his knowledge and how he runs his business. I live approx. 90 miles from the job I wanted him to do, so we did everything thru phone and email. He promptly returned calls and emails. No money up front for materials like a handyman. Very professional! He got the job done exactly as promised, on time, and on original estimate. Everything was left clean and perfect. I've used them twice. The first time, they built a nice gate for us. I asked them to replace the post on our other gate. They just put new screws into the old one. Ok fine. The next job I had them do was an extension to our wall. Much bigger and more expensive job. There were late in starting, working on and completing this job. I wasn't in a hurry, so whatever, but I asked them to replace the post again. He kept telling us that they would be by on a day and they would never show up, in fact we were told it would be done free because of the delay, no one ever showed up. My last effort to them was to tell them that I was planning to refer them to my mother-in-law to do a new fence for them. I politely reminded him about the post, and again I was put on the schedule, again no one showed up. I told my in-laws not to call him. It's a shame, such a small thing, could have been fixed in a few minutes. Customer service is so important to me, but I guess it must be nice to have so much business that you are too overwhelmed to finish the small things. I have many opportunities to refer people to this business, but I will not. read more

The owner Martin is a very nice guy but when doing business I just don't want nice I want reliable! He over promises then never returns your calls. They installed a chain link fence and the work is great but when it came time to install the vinyl gate I had to call and recall and even text him. I mean he showed up for the first job, I was actually concerned something happened to the guy. Then a month later after the original installation date of the vinyl gate I get a text they will install the gate asap. But 3 weeks later haven't heard back from him. When he came out for the estimate we explained to him our situation and how we were in a huge time crunch and he promised it wouldn't be a problem it would be done way before our time concern. He completely let us down and left us with a huge dilemma since we didn't have a gate to keep our dog in our yard. Cannot image what it would be like to have him honor their warranty if something went wrong. Should have listened to other reviews and avoided this stressful situation! read more
